Ive gone a couple different times now for a pedicure and while the "spa" part is great, they have filed my nails to short and leave my toes hurting for days. they actually gave me a ingrown toenail once AFTER I told them to only file my nails, not cut. She kept painting more on before the UV light curing was complete and sure enough my rose colored nails turned brown within two days. I had to go to another salon to have another manicure before the wedding. A complete waste of time and money. I used to love this place but after today, I will not be back. At around noon, my daughter and I called to make an appointment for two gel manicures and pedicures for 1:30. The owner asked us to come at 1:45 and we told him we needed to leave no later than 3:30. He assured us we would be fine. After waiting for an hour and being told repeatedly we would be soon, we were frustrated and did not think there was enough time for each of us to recieve both services. The place was packed with about 30 people including the techicians and it was just loud and certainly not tranquil (which we both enjoy). Finally, at 2:45, they brought the supplies and turned the water on in the foot bath. My daughter's techncian started at 2:50 for the Green Tea pedicure which generally takes a little over 1/2 hour for $55 (including gel removal). She asked if we were getting a manicure and pedicure and we told her since there was not enough time we would just be gettting pedicures. She was anything but relaxing and finished the rushed pedicure in exactly 17 minutes. She moved the UV light numerous times before the timer went off. (She has done this in past pedicures and manicures as well). The service looks good when you leave but lifts in a week since it is not properly cured. I don't know why she rushed through the pedicure since we were not getting manicures so there should have been time to do a proper pedicure it the usual timeframe. However, I think she was just rushing through the motions since the salon was indeed packed. Half way through my daughter's pedicure another technician started my pedicure. She was actually good but the whole experience was a total disappointment and my daughter and I were discussing how poor the service from management was and that we intended to go to another nail salon in Winoski that my second daughter preferred. We mentioned it was smailler and more relaxing and the service at Bella Vie was not up to par. At this point (about 3:15) my daughter's "express" 17 minute service was complete for several minutes and we were just chatting to pass the time until we had to leave at 3:30. Suddenly, my nail technician told us she could hear our conversation and we should stop talking about the salon. I told her it wasn't about her and that she was actually doing a good job but that the management service was horrible. I tried to explain the appointment situation and that they should not have taken our appointment if they were so busy. I also told her that we would converse as we wanted. She got up and went in the back for about 5 full minutes. We weren't sure she would be coming back and were just waiting. No one came over to us to see what the issue was except the my daughter's nail technician who asked what was the issue to the other technician who replied "don't worry about it". It started to pour and I told my daughter to leave as soon as the rain broke since she was driving to a doctor'a appointment so she left at 3:25. My pedicure which started at around 3 was still in process. At 3:30, I had to leave for another appointment and my ride was outside. I still did not get one of the lotions or the hot towel wrap but told her to stop and dry my legs so I could leave. Most people would have probably argued about the $125 experience and the fact that my pedicure was not fully complete by 3:30 but instead I paid in full. I had been going there for years and taking and paying for my three daughters. I generally tip 25% or more so I think I was a decent customer. However, although the owners were present, not one apologized or even acknowledged the problem. This was the reason I decided not to return. There are many nail salons in the area to chose from and I do not want to support that behavior. The icing on the cake was that my daughter's tehnician (who always appeared a bit rough around the edges) came across the salon and said loudly " if you ever talk this way again you will not be allowede back". I am not even sure what she was referring to since she did not hear our conversation since she was already onto another customer at the other end of the pedicure chair line. I replied that " i certainly will not be back but that decision was mine and not hers". At this point the young male who works the front asked me what the problem was and I told him. He was the only staff member to apologize and say it was their fault and it was just too busy. He said they were wrong and again apologized. Unfortunately, it was too little, too late. It was the first time in my life I did not leave any gratuity to the technicians. I hope management reads this and reflects on the situation. It's great they are busy now but with service like this, it won't last long! read more

I have t been here in two years but today I finally was in the area and got the chance to. I liked their updates, the new chairs and whatnot. A friend and I got the green tea spa pedicure today. It was amazing. The only thing is that I used my debit card and instead of being offered to chose a tip I was told my total- which included a ten dollar tip. I wasn't impressed with that. I would have handed the girl cash as a tip if they told me I couldn't put a tip on my card. Either way, I'm going to branch out and look at other possible places for the future. It makes me really sad to post this review as I have been a loyal customer at Bella vie since they opened maybe a decade ago at this point. I've ridden the waves of up and down service experiences, quality issues and extended wait times sometimes over an hour after making an appointment for a set time. This last year I started doing gel polish on my toes to extend my pedicures because the polish wasn't lasting as long for me. Generally, if I notice an issue after I've left, the staff have been gracious about fixing things. I usually go for a pedicure every 8-10 weeks bc the gel lasts so long. I got a gel pedicure at Bella Vie about 2 weeks ago and noticed today that the dark red/pink gel had large yellow spots on each toe and almost looked like leopard print (but not in a cute way!). I stopped by Bella vie to see if they could fix it at no cost. I sat down thinking we were on the same page about that. Recognizing the nail tech spent time to fix it, as I was leaving I wanted to tip her. I went to walk out sending her tip on Venmo and the staff all started shouting for me to come back because I need to pay for the service. I explained that I thought they were fixing the defective gel polish job I received last time at no cost. It got a bit tense and ultimately I agreed to pay thinking it would be $10. Nope, it was $30. I tried to reason with them and they said if it had only been a week that they would have not charged me. I'm so disappointed to feel this review is necessary but because of my problematic experiences over time at Bella vie coupled with today, feels important to let other potential patrons know. I hate to say this but they have horrible customer service. I like their work too, they do a solid job, the place is aesthetically pleasing and I have been a few times- but each time they were running late. This time I made an appointment for during my lunch at work and had to wait 40 mins before anyone even attempted to start with my nails. Not even an apology, attempt to make waiting comfortable, or even "we're running behind thanks for your patience." I also heard one of the male nail techs blaming a young girl for not telling him she "had skin under her nails" because he made her bleed enough to get a bandaid and wrap. I went in to get my dip powder nails removed because I play lacrosse and they were getting to long. Usually, they shave the dip on ur nails down, put acetone on cotton and wrap your fingers, WELL this lady just took a piece of acrylic nail, stuck it under the dip on my nail and started RIPPING and then ripped off my ACTUAL nail. Went a few times to give them chances to do better and after the last time I'll never go back. Nails were always different shapes, always left with cuts and sensitive fingers because the drill file was too fast. My sister went with me the last time and got dip and they were the worst nails I had ever seen. I asked them to take it off for her because they were so bad. They were misshapen, and so thick she was embarrassed. I didn't expect them to be happy, but they were beyond rude. The lady that did such a horrible job is the one who removed them and my sisters fingers were sore, nails completely broken and they didn't remove all of the dip from her nails. Very unhappy with my experience at Bella Vie. Paid $70 for a basic manicure/pedicure. A piece chipped within 24 hours. I went back, and they fixed it so it was fine. What really got me upset was that after 6 days, the nail polish really started to fall off. The lady told me it would last 2-4 weeks. While I was disappointed, I wasn't mad. I tried to remove the rest with nail polish remover but none of it would come up. I spent an hour trying to peel it off. Unfortunately, when it finally came off I noticed my nails were white and splotchy. After doing some research, I realized they had painted my nails with Shellac nail polish that needs to be removed professionally. Because I did it myself, I apparently caused massive damage to my nails. Nobody at the salon told me that this nail polish was different and that it needed to be professionally removed. I was in there twice (once to get my nails painted and the second time when they touched up the chip), and they didn't say a thing. I paid a fortune for nail polish that lasted less than a week, and I ended up with nails that apparently won't be healed for 6 months. Never again! read more

The polish always stays on really well, unlike other places where I've had problems with the polish chipping off right away. All the people are really nice and take great pride in their business. I went here with my sister in law and her bridesmaids to get manicure/pedicure before the wedding. It was my first time in but I trusted my sister in law as she goes her often. I decided to just get a regular manicure but it came out looking really nice. The woman who did my nails seemed nice and to be experienced with doing nails. I did a blush pink color and gold for my ring finger accent to match my heels, and bridesmaid dress. Normally when I do my nails at home they last 1-2 days before they start to chip. When I went they were pretty quick and did what I needed. When I left i noticed ny nails were very streaky and the tips were very see through and some were even spotty at the bottom. I have been going to Bella Vie since it opened. I agree with a lot of the less preferable reviews that they could update a bit, and they are usually always busy, the owner is a bit rushed at all times. But what keeps me going back is: they have close to a thousand color options for EVERY type of manicure/pedicure type from straight polish to powder dip! I have been religiously getting the powder dip here because they do a great job and top with a gel coat! Working as a nurse the wear and tear on manicures is intense and their dip/gel combo has always lasted until it's time for a grow out manicure! Also if you haven't tried their Green Tea Pedicure yet... it is amazing!! Hot stones, paraffin wax dip, and extra massage time!!! They do work very hard to get all their walk ins seen, but honestly if the parking lot is packed... don't bother trying to get a walk in appt that's absurd, and honestly don't expect a walk in appt at any rush hour! But other than that I usualy going around 1-2 pm and haven't had to wait more then 15 min for a walk on ever! Of note: Wednesday- Friday before ANY HOLIDAY weekend is going to be BANANAS BUSY.
