Worst Nail Salon Experience Ever . For $30 I expected my Pedi to be out of this world . All I got was untrimmed cuticles & uneven polish . The manager is the most rude individual I've ever encountered . I told him I wanted a manicure & pedicure when I first arrived . When I finished my pedi & asked where I would be sitting for my mani, he said & I quote " I don't have time for this, you should have made a longer appointment , just sit over there ( pointing @ drying station " Another person walked in & asked how long the wait was, this man was SO RUDE to her . He told her if the wait was too long she could leave because he is busy and doesn't have time to keep answering her question . WOW. Service sucked , manager is DEPLORABLE. I just had a pedicure/manicure after many months so was looking forward to relaxing a bit. The nail tech, who barely greeted me, was anything but friendly. She was abrupt and I literally felt like I was bothering her. It was not a relaxing or enjoyable experience. I had a particularly rough spot on my foot which she said she couldn't do anything about, then when I showed her, she took the "sander" and rubbed so hard, I had to ask her to stop. My feet are as rough as when I went in. Gel manicure is fine although my nails are filed unevenly and there are several tiny bubbles in the polish. I came here with my niece a few days ago and felt the need to review. Should I preface this by saying I live in LA where manicures are maintenance not a luxury? Maybe. Because the prices here are WAY higher than LA for the same basic mani/ pedi. $55 ?!! Really?? I did get shellac on my toes but still that's a total of $10 more not including tip. Perhaps I'll begin with the lack of greeting. We walked in and no one said hello for a FULL FIVE MINUTES. Rude. Finally, they are extremely inefficient as they do the pedi and mani separately so it literally took almost TWO hours. So yea, will be sure to do my maintenance back in LA where I pay $35 for a mani pedi at the same time and the whole salon staff says hello the second your foot crosses the threshold. read more

The reviews tell it all. I was treated very poorly today by the owner of this establishment. I was a long time customer prior to COVID. After two years, I decided to go back to my regular nail fix and was shocked when I went back here. New owners and very different place. I had an appointment and was basically blamed for not being able to stay longer as they were running at least 20 minutes behind. Called the owner later and he said they couldn't get me in until Monday. This was on a Thursday. It was a 15 minute appointment to have a nail fixed. When I complained, he hung upon me. So unprofessional. Go anywhere but here. I will continue to express my dissatisfaction with this place until the owner apologizes. Though, I doubt that will happen based on the awful reviews. I love the dip manicures and all pedicures at Bella Vie, but these folks have a serious time management problem. I had an appointment today at 10:15, and was still sitting in the pedicure chair an hour later, alone-waiting for a technician. I finally rebooked my appointment for another day. They do a fantastic job once you're seen, but the time trade-off is crazy. I'd rate 5 stars if they were remotely timely, but they overbook and run late. This place should get closed down... I wish I had a picture to post on here...my nails/hands looked terrible when I left the salon... I got my powder gel nails off yesterday and unfortunately had them taken off by the rude man who I believe is the manager. After my fingers were done soaking in the plastic bags, he came over and buffed the surface of my nails for not even 5 seconds on each hand and said "you done" and sent me on my way. I couldn't believe it. Where is the filing, the actual thorough buffing, the oil for my nails and lotion for my hands?!" SO upsetting and NEVER going back to this place again. They rush with each client and I know they joke about their clients to each other which is unacceptable. First timer - the technician who did my pedicure was lovely and she did an excellent job. The place could use an update & deep clean. I left happy with what I went in for but the man working, the owner or manager I assume made me feel uneasy. He was short with me, and rude. I went to sit down in a chair that I thought was mine for the appointment and he barked at me from across the room and told me to go sit in another chair. Every time someone came in, he'd take their request without even welcoming them. It also appeared he was making fun of customers. Great, large nail spa! Everything was super clean - they replaced everything for my pedicure before and after. Even though it was busy, i was accepted right away as a walk in. There was clearly plenty of experienced staff! Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because I was a little disappointed in my pedicure. For $30, the basic spa pedicure did not leave my feet and toes in tip-top shape - definitely more exfoliation could be used. Overall, although slightly pricey, worth it for the available staff, abundance of polish colors, and quality of manicure. read more

Though I saw them pull my metal pedi instruments out of an autoclave and open them in front of me, I still ended up getting a fungal infection from the pedicure. Maybe it was the loofah, emery board, etc.- I don't think they were new. That, or the tubs aren't cleaned well enough. $30 pedicure ended up costing additional $ for the copay to visit my doctor, $ for the Rx, and 3 months of avoiding alcohol so the Rx doesn't damage my liver. This past weekend I got engaged, I was completely shocked and thrilled! I immediately went to get my nails done to compliment the ring. I arrived at Bella Vie and it was completely dead (on a Saturday). There were no cars in the parking lot, I thought they might be closed. Turns out they were not. I asked for a French gel manicure (no tips, no fake nails, etc. just gel polish on my natural nails). I was told the cost would be $50, which I thought seemed high but I don't get my nails done often so I wasn't sure, but I went ahead with it because I was excited to get my nails done. The lady with the orangy-hair said I seemed like a "nice lady" and she would do me a favor and do the manicure for $35. She asked me TWICE what I was going to tip her and that because I "seemed happy it was good for her because that means I would give a big tip". She proceeded to ask how much my purse cost and I lied due to sheer discomfort in question. I was bullied by her the entire time I was there, I could not wait to get out. I ended up giving her a $20 tip in cash for fear she would continue to harass me and at that point I just wanted to leave. This establishment is beyond disgusting to allow your employees to treat customers this way. I have been coming here for years, have spent hundreds of dollars at this salon and I will never ever go back. To anyone looking to get their nails done in the VT area, please steer clear of this place. They are crooks and try to take advantage of people. read more

Beautiful salon & clean. Got a mani/pedi on a Wednesday evening and the place was hopping- I took that as a good sign. Unfortunately, the salon was well over capacity, as I (and several other women) sat waiting in pedi chairs with no water for 15 minutes. My pedicure was good, well-paced, no complaints. After my pedicure I waited another 30 minutes to have my shellac manicure. They close at 730 but I don't know how any employee goes home before midnight since it doesn't seem any customers are turned away. I arrived at 5:30 and wasn't in the manicure chair before 7. I don't mind waiting for good service, but it was frustrating that at no point did the manager indicate there would be a wait, mention how long the wait would be, or apologize to anyone for waiting. He ended up asking me several times which pedicure I wanted, which manicure I wanted. Both services were certainly fine, but my experience was so marred by the incredibly poorly managed system. It's also strange to me that a salon doesn't offer complimentary beverages or even water. And this was the salon named Best in the last Seven Daysies? Yikes, I'm not inspired for other Burlington area salons! read more

This place is super inconsistent. You MAY receive good service, but most of the time they rush and it shows once they're done with your nails. I gave this place plenty of chances but the past few times my nails came out uneven and crooked. Today I asked for coffin shaped and some of the nails are rounded at the top and do NOT look coffin shaped AT ALL. They look AWFUL! I do not recommend. Also, they do not respect appointments either. Most of the time I have to wait 30 mins until I'm actually seated. Even after you're seated sometimes, they leave to work on another person and then come back. I'm over it. I have been going to this salon for awhile now and always had good service until I went this past Friday. I requested mine and my daughter's powder dips be removed and a just a shellac/gel polish applied (no gel nails or powder nails); informed them after they tried to talk us out of it that we both wanted to give our nails a break and would do the powder dip in the next appointment. We waited for over an hour to have them removed, and I was ignored when I asked if anyone was going to wait on me/us as other patrons had appointments after me and were all receiving their nail treatments. I believe because we were not doing another powder dip treatment, that we did not receive the same courtesy and treatment as we would have if we had continued with the powder dip. Anyways, they have now lost a good-paying and tipping customer who came every 3 weeks and with her daughter!!!! read more

Just finished my first pedicure here. What a delight! A full pedi menu - I chose the lavender and milk pedi for $35. I have bad callouses and she handled them easily. No razors for those who prefer them. Fragrance was not overwhelming and the massage chair was fun. I chose one of the toluene free polishes. Took an hour and did not feel rushed. Easily the best manicure & pedicure I've had in a while. Went with the Green Tea pedicure and the Paraffin manicure and recommend both! It was so relaxing and worth every penny. Overall the place is very clean and the staff is super friendly! There is a lot of Space to accommodate large groups. I also appreciated that my friend and I were done at the same time side by side for both the mani and the pedi-- other places usually sit us up. I've tried many nail salons. Bella Vie is the best one I've been to. The decor is elegant, the atmosphere is serene and the people are warm & friendly. They actually treat you like a person, and talk to you. I get their gel mani and love it! It lasts 2 weeks and looks great throughout. One of my coworkers got a pedi and said it is the cleanest salon she's been to; I totally agree. The prices are better than other salons, too. Gorgeous interior! The atmosphere at Bella Vie is the most luxurious of any other local nail salon I've ever been to. Beautiful up-to-date interiors always win big bonus points in my book. All modern luxury fixtures throughout the building. Bella Vie is also the CLEANEST nail salon I've ever visited (admittedly, a more important point than pretty plumbing). Everyone I saw was using sanitized tools and otherwise seemed to be following the health code. From my seat, I could see behind their front counter--everything was tidy and organized. The staff are knowledgeable, courteous, and plentiful. Their large staff translates to no wait time for walk-ins, even when the parking lot was completely chock-a-block. My nail technician did a great job removing my acrylic nails. He wasn't high-pressure in his attempt to sell me a manicure; I appreciate that! The price was as advertised, and I had the ability to leave a tip on my card (something that seemed to be somehow impossible at other local nail salons, strangely) so I did! I've decided this is my new nail place, and I'll definitely be back for that manicure sooner than later. read more

I've had both here, but I gave them another chance after my bad one & it's always been good (& I'll admit the bad one was mostly my fault due to communication issues). It's a typical nail salon - you get better service when they aren't as busy, but it's clean & you never have to worry about getting fungus. Some techs are better than others (just like anywhere), but they are all really nice. I've given this place so many chances. The pedicures are way overpriced for what you get and the manicures are incredibly inconsistent. There's also no point in making an appointment as they don't start you even close to the appointment time. I get more people = more money, but I took the time to make an appointment because I have a life and schedule too. I don't appreciate being third in the salon and 14th helped. I'm trying to respect their business and resources; therefore, respect me as a paying customer. I won't be going here again. Very disappointing experience! My coworker recommended this place and I decided to check it out. I made an appointment but had to wait 20 min. and when a lady came to get me she told me I could not pick the two colors I had chosen, only one! Never heard such a thing! Another lady told me to sit down on a table and again I waited for almost 10 min. She attempted to remove my gel polish with no patience and did a terrible job! She never soaked my nails and drilled my natural nail too much! She was hurting me and I had to stop her from destroying my nails by removing my hand from the table. He is just trying to get people in and out. Last time I went, he made me getting manicure done at the waiting bar. I went back today and was disappointed again. The woman doing my nails rushed through my pedicure and maybe scrubbed my feet for about 10 seconds. My feet are still peeling and have dead skin on them. Also I had an appointment, and not only had to wait to be seated but then had to wait about a half hour between my pedicure and my manicure. My manicure was also extremely rushed and looks very messy. Not impressed at all and will not be back. The only reason I am giving them a is because they are clean and a nice looking salon. Went here with a party of 4 for pedicures. I made an appointment and had to change the time which they accommodated. When we got there, we had to wait though. Two of us got manicures instead. Two of us got the lavender pedicure. It was nice, but not luxurious or of superior quality. It ended up taking over an hour. One plus was the massaging chairs. Another was the reasonable price.
