This was my first play at BVGC, August 2025. I read the reviews before the day of and so should you. I enjoyed 18 holes even though it was hot and humid. Markley Grille was a real treat: homemade meatball sliders and fries were outstanding. Why eat a hot dog.....aye carumba ! Reading the reviews about ranger harassment was NOT the case. 9-minute tee time separation reminded me to keep our play brisk. The rangers DID make sure we had cool water on three occasions - even on the 17th hole. We fixed our ball marks and a few extras; raked the bunkers as well. One bunker was in bad shape; not sure why. My understanding is that the carts are tracked electronically. Any reminder to players about pace of play is not biased. One practice swing on the tee box will serve you well. The greens at BVGC are not that hard to read. No need to do that [stuff] seen on TV. To those players who had a less than positive experience: remember to do your part and enjoy golf as it was intended. Avoid this horribly managed course. Course if in really bad shape. Grass growing in bunkers, not maintaining greens, tee boxes are full of weeds. Not to mention the 100 year old rangers are useless in having players keep pace. Had a solo player in front of my foursome who was hitting 4 to 5 balls each stroke. This held up the entire course. Advised rangers of the issue and they did nothing about it. Complete incompetence. No water coolers on course. Avoid and go anywhere to golf other than this dump. read more

I enjoyed the course and the majority of the staff. That being said, we were very unhappy with being told twice to pick up our pace. Our group finished in 4:23 min. That is after having to wait 7 min on the first hole and then wait for our order at the turn (at no fault of the very nice bartender. It was just packed). Multiple times we had to wait to tee off behind a pair who were held up by the group in front of them. Yes, our group ranges from 15-30 handicap, but everyone was playing ready golf and picking up our balls if beating double par wasn't possible. End of the day, we enjoyed the course, but the guy was very rude and certainly hurt the overall experience. Disappointing, especially when both Bella Vista and Workhorse claim to be for all skill levels. Since we've never experienced that at other courses, we'll just continue playing those. read more

Played a tournament here. There were no hot dogs available at the turn and the pace of play was bad. Sad

very nice course. 2nd tee time of the day. rating dropped because we had someone drop out 36 hours before our tee time (tested positive for covid) and their policy is 48 hours notice. we called and gave 24 hour notice (as soon as the opened) and was told we would have to still pay for the 4th. we couldn't find anyone willing to drive the 1.5 hours where we live to fill the spot so it was just the 3 of us. they gave us a rain check for our "4th paid golfer" to come back which they said was "fair" but none of us want to drive that far again for a nice course to wait on every tee box. i would understand if we booked 4 and didn't show but things happen beyond our control and they just are after money and not the "customer experience". I even asked if i could spend the money in the pro shop but they were not having it. if i go back, i am going solo and never giving them another dime. poor management and poor attitude. read more

No posting on their website about recent airation of greens. I will not be returning. Their response at course was inadequate and there are plenty of quality courses in the area that do post airation alerts. read more

This was the first time I played this course and I was very pleased. The staff is very friendly the course is well maintained. There are a few interesting holes especially 14, the island green. If you playing the white tees do not use a 8 iron on this hole if the pin is in the back, like I did. There is a two tier green and if you land on the slope it will come back down leaving an uphill putt. 18 is a nice finishing hole but make sure you use the correct club. Please do not expect anything from the clubhouse I was surprised at how small it was, but who cares I was there for the golf. And I also wish they had a practice range, so warm up on they way there. read more

Bella Vista Golf Course - This is the island green at Bella vista - Golf Near Me - Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania

Hadn't played Bella Vista in over two yrs but last Sat I was treated to a Birthday round by my son and daughter. My son booked a 10:30 tee time for four. The group was my son, daughter, daughter's friend and me. When I arrived I was pleasantly greeted at the bag drop by a young man with a big smile who asked my tee time and provided info about the parking, pro shop and putting green. I knew this info but allowed him to continue because he was so enthusiastic about he's job. Great start to my visit... love it! When the others arrived and we proceeded to the Pro Shop where we were greeted by the golf pro by a big smile and conversation about the great weather and the golf course. Back to the carts and to the starter (big hello with a smile) who provided course info and some helpful tips. Off we go! Started slow but completed our round in 4hrs 25mins, which for a Sat mid-morning start is fantastic. The course was in excellent shape tee to green. Following our we enjoyed some craft beer on the patio off the 18th. Scott our server (big smile), half way attendant...and bartender was tremendous. I play approx 20-25 rounds per yr in the Mid-Atlantic region and FL both public and private courses and this was a wonderful experience at Bella Vista Golf Club. Nice place to play. Some really beautiful holes. Slow play is a problem. The bigger problem I found was that the course seemed to be designed with WAY too many tees near greens - and not even ones in succession! People cheering a birdie putt on hole 10 (and cheer they should) don't realize they're interrupting the swing of someone teeing off of 14. And vise versa. This was a brand new track and yet they put the holes right in top of one another! Why?!? For the money, I'd rather play somewhere else. read more

I love this course. You might think $65 is pricey for a course but Bella Vista is really worth it. The staff is always great and the course is always in wonderful condition. Its not overly long but they have some fun holes. Number 14 is an island green and a very good betting hole. I hit up Bella Vista as often as possible which is usally about 3-4 times a summer. One of my favorite courses in PA. read more

Not the most challenging course I have every played but well maintained and groomed every time I play there. Nothing says fun to me than starting your round with a bodacious 579 yard par 5. The course is fairly standard in terms of its layout. The fairways are wide, the greens are large and the rough is forgiving. The signature hole would have to 14. It's a 152 yard par 3 with an island green. Pure fun or pure hell depending on your club selection and swing. The rates are very reasonable considering the staff treats you as if youre a member of a private club. Weekdays are $47.00 and weekends are $65.00. 14 alone makes it worth the $. Definitely worth the price. read more

This course is actually very nice and I have played there several times. In the past I never had any issues except for slow play and waiting around, but yesterday was a totally different experience. My friend and I booked a tee time from Golf Now.com . When we went in to the the pro shop to pay all was well, but when we went to hand in our play/pay slip to the ranger, he had us go off the back because they had "over booked" and we were told to play the back nine (which we had no problem doing) first and when we came around for the 1st tee, we should be able to play with no problem. Well when we came around to the front nine - we were told that we needed to wait about a half an hour because they were letting a group go off. (we were just two people). There was no one in front of the "so called group" and when we asked if we could play before they teed off - we were told no we needed to wait - we waited for a little bit (about 10 minutes) and the first fore some had not teed off yet. Getting a little disturbed about this - we asked to please let us go off before they hit their shots. Again we were put down. We went into the pro shop to speak with someone there to get a "rain check" for nine holes. The man working the pro shop was rude and would not even look at us. What he did was say" that's golf".... REALLY????. What he did instead was give us a refund for half of what we paid for with Golf Now which would not come close to covering 9 at this course on another day. He did not even give us back the booking fee. We went back out to see if the "so called Group" had even teed off yet and 1 fore some had - the 2nd was just teeing off. There was two more groups to go off..... and this was 30 minutes after we made the turn. I can't imagine how long it took the rest of the people to tee off or even finish - Had we waited we most likely would not have made it in before dark.... I have never been treated with such rudeness...from the starter that day or the men working in the pro shop. My feeling is that they booked to many players for the afternoon... and this is not the first time.... read more

More like 3.5. Heard a lot about this course lately. It was ok but wasn't wowed. You can find some good deals on golfnow sometimes saving 20 bucks which makes it definitely worth a look but I wouldn't pay 70 bucks for this place. Fairways rough and bunkers are in good shape. Tee boxes are a disaster and greens were very heavy and bumpy for a Sunday they need to be shaved they're extremely slow. The layout is very unusual. A lot of blind shots. You can probably knock 5 shots off your score the second time you play here just because of the knowledge you gain specifically about the tees and where they point you. The island green is cool but really not difficult for any decent golfer. It's absolutely enormous and only about 130 yards away. Lots of water coolers, ball washers and tons of yardage markers which makes for a more employable round. read more

Played here for first time today. We had the first tee time, so there was no issue with slow play. Very nice layout and course was in nice condition. My only complaint would be that there were a lot of people doing maintenance and they did not move from course our turn off motors when close to golfers. The island green is fun. I will come again. read more

Can't say enough good things about this course, especially when you shoot 64 with 28 on back nine. Greens were smooth, but not very fast. Will definitely come back to try and improve my score, that will never happen though. Can't think of one thing to complain about... read more

My husband and I went for dinner. They advertise entertainment and they had entertainment outside on the patio. There were seats at the 10 stool bar so we sat there. We received our drinks but when we asked how long it would take for dinner, they said the kitchen was really backed up it would take an hour. Really? There were no diners in the dining room, they were outside. Not alot of table out side. Why advertise if you can't service your customers? read more

Great layout. Tees and fairways are well maintained. The bunkers are terrible, full of rocks, never raked, and inconsistent. The greens can be good at times but are usually very soft and full of ball marks. The proshop staff needs some customer sensitivity training. The only thing they seem to care about is taking yor money and getting you out the door. The starters/rangers are very personable and helpful. read more
