The other residents are respectful and friendly from my encounters. There's a lot of kids that live here that like to run around on scooters and e-bikes on the weekends-they can be a little noisy but it doesn't bother me. The property manager, Gigi, has been so helpful and kind with any questions I've asked. Lots of open parking and no sketchy weirdos loitering around. I have never seen the dumpsters overflowing- the trash is collected multiple times a week. I do find a spider in the unit every so often but it's definitely not a pest problem. Never had a package stolen so far! I'm really enjoying this place!

Don't let the appearance of this complex fool you. At first glance, it looks like a quiet and safe…read moreneighborhood, but that has not been my experience at all. During the 10 months I lived here, I had my gas siphoned, a SWAT team break down a neighbor's door during a hostage situation, and another neighboring unit where a drug-addicted couple had frequent violent altercations. The situation became so bad that I had to call the police over a dozen times during my short time living there. The most frustrating part is that management has received complaints about these issues for years. They will tell you they care and that they are addressing the situation, but nothing actually changes. The responses often feel dismissive and unhelpful. What ultimately pushed me to write this review, however, was how my move-out was handled. Although I moved out before my lease ended, I made every effort to leave the apartment in excellent condition. I had the unit professionally cleaned, including the carpets, and had all holes patched and painted. After the pre-move-out inspection, I even provided management with the invoices for these services. Despite this, I was still charged nearly $500 in additional cleaning and painting fees. I was also charged an incorrect $450 rent balance, even though management had previously confirmed that I had paid the remaining rent and utilities owed. Even after explaining this and providing documentation, they still refused to return my full security deposit. Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing. For the price you pay to live here, there are far better and better-managed options in the area. I strongly encourage prospective renters to carefully consider other properties before signing a lease here.

In reply to Fabiola's comment…read more.. Yes, let's blame an ESA for Sunrises lack of responsibility to upkeep of the property. Any time any service person was scheduled to inspect, I was home and not one of them were ever affraid of my dog. My dog doesn't bark, has never been aggressive towards any other animal or human, and wants nothing but to be loved and pet. Your comment against my dog, especially your attempt at using his breed as a crutch, is in poor taste and solidifies my original post of how nothing was ever fixed. No, I will not speak of this in private. Sunrise had that chance when I tried contacting the company via Facebook because I never recieved a call back when I left messages. The response I did recieve from the Facebook message was the manager angrily approaching me and inquiring as to why I tried contacting the company. In fear of retaliation, I agreed to take down the comment. Lastly, those who utilize this site deserve to know the truth about the lack of responsibility and integrity within this company. Thank you.

The views are nice facing East and it is lush on the other side. The community is almost like it fell out of the sky compared to the others around there, this one is family oriented, non-smoking, clean, managed very well, safe. It is setting a new precedent for the area and if the other buildings nearby follow the example, this will actually become a much nicer neighborhood!

Cesar was great, professional and knowledgeable…read more Heads up: Gate stays open all day but late at night it closes. Night traffic is insanely loud. Drag racing all hours but all night long it's the loudest. Apt complex is small but lots of up and down hills, so plan to drive your laundry to the building. Also online says 24-7, that's not true, it's 9-10 or possibly 8-10 only. Most walk ways and roads are sloped and not even so caution if you are walking the complex. Only one tiny park and past age 5 I'm pretty sure kids wouldn't enjoy it. But toddlers might enjoy it. It's super tricky to leave because of traffic and going south you'll need to go north and do a u turn. Getting past these things it seems a decent place to rent. Cesar left us with a good impression, polite, showed us around. I was looking for ground level apt, laundry in apt or near apt, and a pool and this place had one apt like that available. (None have washer dryer hookups but laundry was near this apt that was available). So we applied. $150 to apply. Non refundable. Thankfully we were first in line for this apt. Be prepared for it to take minimum of two weeks to go through the process. We passed all the requirements and he appreciated we have 750+ and 783, etc. You only need a 620 to be approved. We have perfect rental history. Never late on any payments ever. We met the income requirement. We were approved but it must then go through corporate. So we waited longer. Then we are told we weren't approved because corporate doesn't think we are a good match for their community. We've never heard of anything like this. We asked for further clarification and we were told the same statement. We were told to call a number to talk with corporate. We called and it goes straight to a recording and it's an odd echo bathroom sounding recording that did not sound professional at all, but it was corporate. We left our info and no call back. To date no response and no one will answer. It's out of Cesar's hands. He was confident we'd be moving in. We are more than qualified. I've been told places do this to pocket all the applications. We were first in line and met all the criteria. I thought that was a good thing to be first in line. Another family was in line for the apt, so if this is the case that's sadly common in California, then they got to pocket our $150 and move on to them. Some places have 40 applicants and first 30 get denied, they pocket all those fees paid and accept the others. It's sad that this is happening. And reality is, we qualified, was told we qualify and was still rejected and our $150 was pocketed by the apt complex and they moved on to the next family. On the bright side, Now that we've heard stories of the traffic and loud racing every single night there (go at night and witness it. It's so loud and trucks and cars race all night to the early am hours) and not having heat in bathrooms etc. Only having it in bedroom. And the other hiccups, stinks to of lost $150 to corporate greed but glad to have avoided these other things.

We moved here and haven't really had any major issues. However, one of the main reasons we…read moreoriginally liked it here was because there was a lot of pretty trees. They are currently cutting them all down and now we have no shade and the landscape looks boring and drab with only small palm trees and cactuses. The gate doesn't always close often which kind of defeats the purpose and the one other thing we could live without is the yearly walk throughs of the apartments. We just haven't had that anywhere else and like to have our privacy but I guess we get it for fire safety. The apartments are pretty modern, all wood floor, but we kinda wish the bedrooms had carpet for comfort. The water heaters aren't very large and are still gas which makes the SDGE bill larger than other apartments with electric heaters. Animals over 25 lbs aren't allowed even though the apartments are spacious. The laundry room takes a card or phone app which is pretty nice in our opinion and we do like the kitchen amenities in the unit. There is barely any guest parking and it gets taken up often by people who live here already. Rent autos to month to month once you've been here for 6 months. Just some things to note if you are moving in. I guess everywhere has pros and cons.
