We are going in our 2nd year now living here. The 1st year the property was owned by a different company than it is now. And wow what a difference! Mary Ann the manager is the absolute best! Very communicative, friendly and helpful. She always follows through. Significant positive changes have been made like the response and quality of work done by maintenance and new washer and dryers. The property has been kept up and garbage areas are kept clean and now locked up. A filtration system has been put in for the water which has been an excellent upgrade! I'm sorry to leave a review like this. Their "automated" system via text messages(live person for sure) wasn't able to answer any questions I asked. Instead pushing for me to sign a lease contract a month prior to what I asked. Also they weren't able to work around my schedule for showings and didn't give me any other options. SAVE YOURSELF - DO NOT MOVE HERE OR YOU WILL BE MISERABLE!!!! Summary: Packages stolen, RUDE neighbors and their dogs pissing on your porch, construction workers walking in your home without warning, oven shooting sparks and office did nothing about it. READ ON.. First off, these apartments look nice & upgraded but don't let that fool you. This apartment building is OLD so the walls are paper thin. I'm talking hearing your neighbors phone vibrate thin. The floor plans are different between bottom and top floor so your bedroom will be above/below their living room/doorway. So while your neighbor may be up walking around like an elephant with tv/music blaring you could be missing out on a nap/sleep. And your bedroom window will be next to walkways, so imagine waking up in the middle of the night/early morning to noisy neighbors. If you enjoy your peace & quiet, and SLEEP, this place is not for you. Second, they give their construction workers universal keys to the apartments so they may use your bathroom. Had at least 3 men trying to break in MY apartment. (VIDEO ATTACHED). Third, don't expect maintenance to get things done right away. Still waiting for my blinds to be fixed. Which leads me to the next... THEIR APPLIANCES ARE SHITY. My oven literally spit out sparks while cooking (no it wasn't because of grease). And a weird gas smell that stayed for an hour. Management will totally blow all your concerns off. I'm just waiting for something to happen. This whole unit is HALF ASSED. The hardwood floor has some lumps, so it's not completely flat. Some of the floor won't even connect to the wall. Can't use my own blow dryer in the bathroom because the power blows out. Water is ALWAYS going cold. And the bathtub drain is screwed on so you can't take baths :) Honestly I could go on and on about all the things wrong but management (PAM) do not give one shit and will lie to your face to make it seem like they're doing something but trust me they won't. PARKING IS A JOKE. Expect to get a ticket. YOU WILL GET ALL SORTS OF WEIRD BUGS CRAWLING AROUND YOUR ROOM. Oh yeah, and there is a methadone clinic directly across the complex which they won't tell you so be prepared for tweakers tweaking out. Do I feel safe here? Absolutely not. The leaf blowers at 7 IN THE FUCKING MORNING is ridiculous! They are rude and will stand in your window with the leaf blower for an hour straight and it all still looks shitty outside leafs and dirt everywhere.. they are rude and will blow dirt and dust into your apartment I've never had to dust as much as I do now and it's like 3 times a week they come? I would rather have leafs and dirt all along my apartments than have a noisy rude unthoughtful leaf blower that has no empathy for anyone living in the complex. If you want a good nights rest without being woken up to a leaf blower 3 times a week I don't suggest living here. It's rude to just come up to someone's apartment that they rent and stand in the window with a loud ass leafblower! read more

My husband and I have been living at Terra for over a year now. Manny and Jade who run these apartments are absolutely amazing! When ever I need anything for my unit they are quick to get it fixed. They are always around the property cleaning, working, and talking to the tenants. They always have a smile on thier face and happy to see you. In a day and age where customer service lacks and is no longer a staple in our lives, I love the fact that these two are here. Plus our dog loves the trips to the front office for her daily puppy treats! read more

My husband and I just moved in here and we couldn't be happier. The assistant manager, Manny helped us out tremendously. He was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Too bad I can't give zero stars. This place doesn't even deserve one star. It used to be a good place to live (been living here for almost 9 years), until it was bought out last year and now there is new management. As soon as they bought the place, they fired the then current manager, and fired the !maintenance guy. Both have been working here for at least 20 years. They told the then current manager that they had to move out of their apartment. List of ever growing negatives: 1. They come into our place/patio without notice. One of those times they even left their ladder in our patio. 2. They had to cut some holes in our shower wall because the neighbors pipes were leaking. Because of that they had to re-glaze the tub/shower walls. They did the crappiest job imaginable. It left sharp and gritty pokey pieces and residue all over the tub and walls... to the point that they were scratching and cutting our skin. He had one of his guy's come in and sand it down. It's a little better, but it still feels horrible and it looks horrible as well... it was not glazed evenly and some of the tub surface was even missed, so it is just uneven in color making it look dirty all the time. 3. They painted the outside walls on our patio, but they did not put the dog barrier back. Because of that our dog laid against the freshly painted walls and got paint all over fur, where she then tracked it into our apartment and got paint all over the doors and walls. At least they offered to pay for her grooming... but the groomer had to cut some of her hair off. 4. They raised our rent from $1420 to $1630! And they won't let us sign a longer lease to lock in that price. Since we are month to month, they can raise the rent whenever they want. 5. They were cutting and grinding wood/trees right outside our son's window one day. When I came home, there was a thick layer of dirt and grime all over his room, bed, clothes, toys, stuffies, floor, everything! 6. They knocked over and broke one of our plants and threw it away without even telling us. 7. I've told him TWICE that there is no hot water to the laundry machines anymore and he has not gotten that fixed yet. 8. They told the maintenance people that they could park in our parking spot. 9. Oh yeah, now they are making everyone pay for water/trash/sewage now... so that is another added expense on top of the raised rent. 10. We asked, since they are raising the rent so much on us, if they could at least replace our carpets since they were nasty before we even moved in. He said no. I pointed out that their website says that the apartments are newly renovated with stainless steel appliances, upgraded LED lighting, USB outlets, and plank flooring... and that our apartment does not have any of that. So how is it fair to raise our rent? 11. This place has no amenities. All it has is a BBQ area that consists of one grill. And we are not even allowed to eat and picnic there. Just cook our food and leave so it doesn't disturb residents. There is no pool, no jacuzzi, no courts, no tot lots, no club area, nothing. The price that they raised the rent to is not worth it. Oddly enough, when we started complaining is when they raised our rent. They haven't raised the rent of our friends in this complex. So we feel that them raising the rent is in retaliation, and they don't want us here. Ironically, we could save up money faster and move, if they'd not raise rent on us. read more

If I could give this complex a negative star or two I would. My husband and I lived here for a little over two years, trying to save up to purchase a house. We chose this complex because they didn't have breed restrictions and we have two big dogs most apartments don't like, and they were cheap. which meant more money for us to save! the nightmare started as soon as we signed the lease. They had to refurbish our apartment due to it not being renovated in 10+ years, and they went weeks past the move in date. Once we moved in, we realized they halfassed all the renovations and outlets were painted over and it was a mess once we really started to look. Over the two years we had multiple maintenance issues due to the halfass job they did and it ALWAYS took over a week and several phone calls to get it looked at. Our upstairs neighbors bathtub leaked and literally rained into our livingroom and it took 3 days to have someone come look at it. meanwhile there was water everywhere, ruined my couch. Then they put a huge fan in to dry the walls out and left it there for a month, mold started to grow on the ceiling and it seemed like nobody cared. The complex is covered in "surveillance" cameras that only work 2% of the time and there is NEVER anyone in the office to answer the phone. 10/10 DO NOT recommend. read more

I've been here for about 2 years when it was forest glen apts and never really had any complaints. Never looked that great but it was cheap and Livable. I transferred to a new renovated apt and love it! It's all updated and the office s great to work with. The manager follows his policy. Kinda loud from he renovations but he lets us know and it's not that bad. Maintenance is great. I have some tiny issues in my home that i can usually take care of myself but when I need something I can't fix the maintenance guy is quick with a response. The place is very well managed and maintained. They're updating a lot and it's looking good. Don't know what that guys deal is with the bad review lol read more

My wife and I moved here from Lake Elsinore/Wildomar over 2 months ago and couldn't be more pleased. We got exactly what we were looking for by taking up residence at Terra: a super pet-friendly complex with minimal accommodations. Yes, you can hear your neighbors, especially if you live under someone who walks heavy. It is an older complex. There is no pool and the fitness center is rather minimalist. Parking is at a premium, but I am not sure where parking isn't tight anymore. Since we have moved here, there has not been one instance where our safety or security was put into question. There are a lot of residents who leave their front doors open all day, so I would say it is safe. What put this community over the top is the staff here at Terra. Pam and Manny. Pam is a wonderful agent for Mashcole Properties who will ensure all questions are answered and needs are met. It was an absolute pleasure working with her to get moved in and situated. But the real glue holding this place together is Manny. This is Manny's complex. Manny does it all: maintenance, upkeep, cleaning, contracting, and just about any resident service you could think of. Manny will go out of the way to help anyone. Manny takes ownership of this complex and takes pride in it's presentation and how happy and comfortable the residents are. If you have any concerns about your place and bring it to Manny's attention, he will address said concerns within hours-not days. And it makes sense as he and his family live here as well. We look forward to continuing to reside here and enjoying the Oceanside atmosphere and cool ocean breeze! read more

I have lived at Terra Oceanside (previously Forest Glen) with my boyfriend for about a year. Both managers, Shannon and now Jay, have been wonderful and have given us a great first experience living in apartments. I know some other tenants have been apprehensive since the once-family-owned building was sold to corporate and Shannon left, but I don't think Jay is all that bad. Sure, some things are done differently, but they're not terrible, and I've found Jay to be really nice and helpful. Others have commented about more advanced notices needed, and while that would be nice, I don't find the amount of time he gives us inconvenient. As first-time renters who are possibly moving soon due to the need to be closer to our jobs, Jay is helping us understand the move-out process and has been giving us details to help us fully comprehend all our options. I do miss how Shannon lived on the property (Jay doesn't) but Jay is still pretty proactive, especially on email. Overall, I don't think people should shy away from this place due to some bad reviews. Take it from me, this is a nice place to stay. Our upstairs neighbors can be a little loud, but that's not management's fault. And Jay has taken our complaints, and it seems like our neighbors have gotten quieter since then, which we greatly appreciate. Parking is also usually really easy. There's plenty of street parking and some free-for-all spaces in the back (that are usually pretty easy to get.) read more

I've been living here a little less than a year and I've been happy since day one. Parking is always available, which has been a big issue for me in previous places I've lived. Laundry is at an affordable price. And I love the stainless steel appliances. I live upstairs and love the fact that I don't share the stairs with another apartment, also the balcony is spacious. Contacting management has never been an issue for me. Jae has been very helpful and knowledgeable with any questions/concerns I've had. Also, I haven't had any issues with any other tenants. We just moved-in in May and so far I have only had headache after headache here. The list is long and worrisome: 1) One of our cars parked on their property just had a piece of the license plate ripped off with pliers along with our 2018 tags. Jae says the camera overlooking the lot doesn't actually see the lot much and that they are unwilling to give us another gated parking spot without us paying for it though it was on their property that the criminal property damage occurred. So yeah, customer service is ZERO and park here at your own risk. 2) The complex is right next to a drug rehab center, and while I love that we have such resources for people who need them, there is often hostile or unstable people yelling slurs or nonsense or just screaming/crying in the middle of the street or at the bus ports. I don't feel like the complex is all that safe with this. 3) Our neighbors are smokers and this is a nonsmoking complex. I have an asthmatic fiance and a three year so this was not acceptable. It took almost two months before whatever actions Terra Oceanside took after many complaints for us to stop smelling cigarette smoke most of the time. 4) When they were redoing the sidewalks, they did NOT close off the areas. My three year old fell in wet cement while with my fiance because neither of them could tell in the shade that it wasn't dry given there was only a single cone to let residents know work had been done. We told David about it, and now Jae the main property manager says he only heard loosely about the incident. Does this mean they did not properly file our very upset complaint??? They never bothered to check in on us after we made the complaint. Do you know what it is like to scrub wet cement off of a freaking out toddler?! I hope no parent ever has to experience it. 5) Not all the dogs are friendly that live here. I love dogs, but I would think you'd have a requirement of meeting the dogs before letting them and their owners in. There are two little corgis who moved in recently that bark and snarl at anyone who walks by and I do worry for my child. 6) Includes almost nothing in terms of utilities on top of its $1500 price tag for a one bedroom. Expect to pay a hefty monthly fee for the electricity, water, sewer, trash/recycling, plus the processing fee. You will find better complexes with better prices with just a bit of hunting in the Oceanside/Tricity area. 7) If you write the company that owns Terra (CirrusAsset Management) do NOT expect any kind of response. Clearly they don't care. 8) Cars are always parked in our numbered and gated spot. We are always complaining to the front office about it. 9) Old renovated buildings with almost a 100% chance of lead paint walls and asbestos ceiling. They tell you in their move-in packet that they have no awareness of asbestos or lead, but give you the gov't info that says building from the 70's or earlier (like Terra) if they have no record of ever having removed the initial paint then most likely then it was just painted on top of and thus the lead paint is still there. Terra has no records so it is a good educated guess that the lead paint is still in there behind new paint. And they for sure have the popcorn ceilings from the 70's so that too is almost 100% sure that it is asbestos. God knows about mold. There are a lot of cracks and holes to the exterior, so until we had them help board it up, we had a lot of pests wandering in (spiders, beetles, silverfish, etc). No idea what the bug problem is for other units. read more
