I ordered grandma pizza and an order of fried calamari. The pizza was amazing. They never disappoint with all the amazing choices they have. However, I'm a huge fan of fried calamari and this order did not meet my expectations. It comes with a ton of marinara sauce and some bread. It seems to be more like breaded calamari. We had Bella Vita cater a party of 20 last Friday, and everything was terrific! We've enjoyed eating there in the past ( their Shrimp Scampi over linguine is divine!), and decided to give them a try for catering. Nick was fantastic, super helpful, and gave us some extras as well for no charge with a discount on the entire order as well. The food arrived at the exact time we requested, was hot and delicious, and plenty left over for extra meals. Considering that we live in Hawthorne, (a town swamped with pizzarias and Italian food), we go to Fair Lawn to this little gem of an Italian restaurant when we want to savor a flavorful meal with great service! BEST IN FAIR LAWN! I have to be 100% honest. Since the quarantine began, my wife and I have tried a number of pizza places in Fair Lawn... All different ones, to try to find the best one even though we've ordered from you guys a lot before. Pie after pie at all these other establishment's has been HORRIBLE. Watery sauce, crust that can't hold a topping, toppings that don't taste like what they're supposed to be... We unfortunately had to order from another let down yesterday since you guys were closed and we were craving your pizza so much! Hands down the best pie in Fair Lawn... Great crust, great sauce, awesome toppings, quick delivery... I would give you 10 stars if I could. The ONE thing I wish you guys had was a small pizza option as well. After placing my order and giving my payment info they said they can't do delivery to Paterson because "it's a dangerous area". When I said that they've delivered to my address before the girl on the phone conveniently said that they only had one driver and they won't be delivering. I ordered a chicken Cesar salad and calamari. They put the salad on top of the pizza oven and put the hot calamari container on top. The lettuce wilted the salad was warm and slimy. In addition, the calamari tasted like freezer. If I knew this is what I was going to get I would have rather eaten a PB&J for diner. I will not be eating from here again. read more

Best pizza around. Every time I have a slice here I say the same thing. One night I ordered from Bella Vita and Rob had never tasted it and he said this pizza is amazing. I loved the pasta here! I was veryyy impressed with the quality and taste of their salmon. We also shared the chicken parm and meatballs (not on the menu). The bread was homemade and side salads had a nice dressing. I think the hit was the fresh and very tasty tomato sauce. I am used to adding salt or lemon or asking for some spicy sauce-- I didn't have to ask for a thing! The highlight was the cannoli! It had such an amazing filling-- creamy and with texture-- like the real Italian ones I had in Boston's North End neighborhood. (Note: it is also halal meat: cooked in a way that the animal feels the least pain and the blood/bacteria leaves right away). I will definitely be back when I'm visiting North Jersey. read more

This is my 4th time eating their food. This last time was the worst experience of them all. It was the worst dining experience I have had in the past 10 years. An order of stuffed mushrooms arrived raw. Raw mushrooms and dangerously uncooked filling made them inedible. Their house pasta, a variation of a Carbonara, was bland and watery. Their red sauce seemed uncooked, bitter, and unseasoned. This is marinara sauce, people! How hard is that? Bottom line: There are a dozen other places in northern NJ that can handle basic Italian food. Bella Vita fails miserably. Stay away. read more

The chicken piccata sauce was soupy and bland. Hardly any lemon flavor at all. They put way too many mushrooms in it which I believed contributed to it being watered down. So I got here and thought that it was going to be a good place to eat. Wrong. The food was pretty good but the waiters and waitresses are every mean and take a long time to bring out food. They also skipped over my order and gave it to somebody else. My friend was on his phone and she comes over and asked him a question and he thought she was talking to someone else. The food here is excellent. In fact I had nearly $50 of pizza delivered for a party at school today which everyone loved. Ordered pizza for tonight (which is delish), but the delivery driver was so rude I might find a new go-to. I don't know about you but I do not sit on top of my phone when I am doing things at home. Apparently the driver called my phone 4x instead of just coming and ringing the doorbell and then was very nasty when I answered the door when he finally rang the bell. He claimed it was too cold to wait outside but had he simply rung the doorbell I would have come right away as I was already in my living room. Bella Vita has been my lunch pick for a few months now. I have it delivered through seamless along with my co-workers. I ordered 2 salads yesterday and was planning on having one yesterday and one today. They arrived and it looked like one salad was split in two. I called and was told I would get another salad sent today. I called to order today and specifically said no peppers. The salad was delivered with peppers and no dressing. I called and was told I never said no peppers. My co workers heard me order and confirmed I repeated myself 2 times. I told them they didnt have to send another one or dressing and that I just wanted to make them aware of the situation. A few minutes later the manager calls me and tells me he is sure I did not say no pepper and he would check my previous orders to confirm. I pulled up my online order and read him the portion where I wrote no peppers. He still insisted I was wrong. I told him he lost our business and he replied with That is OK. What a shame. read more
