This review is solely based on their pizza since I see that they have a pretty large menu and I really can't judge the other items. We strolled in at around 5:45 on an early Saturday evening on a brick cold New Jersey day and they were BUSSSSY. There weren't many patrons dining inside their small restaurant, but there seemed to be PLENTY of takeout business for whole pies and delivery too. In addition, they had, if my count was correct, at least 9 gentlemen working behind the counter, which pretty much speaks for the volume of business they have (else they are grossly overemployed and overpaying). From what I saw just based on the pizzas on display next to the cash register, the slices looked pretty good. Unfortunately, as the old saying goes, looks can be deceiving. Not to say that the pizza was bad, but it could have been better on multiple fronts. We ordered 4 slices - plain cheese, pepperoni, buffalo and a Santoni's Special. In addition, my wife, veering on the healthier (and smarter) side, ordered a pear salad with chicken. First, I didn't get to try the pear salad, but my wife raved about how good it actually was and how she thoroughly enjoyed it as we munched on our pizza, which she should have been jealous of, but shockingly wasn't. Second, the pizza. My kids ate almost the entirety of their plain cheese and pepperoni slices, so I didn't have a chance to try them, other than a few roni cups that my son claimed were too spicy for him. As for my slices, the buffalo and Santoni's Special, the buffalo was a doozy. When I bite into a buffalo pizza slice, there's nothing I hate more than the fact that it lacks buffalo flavoring and this one was one of those cases. It was more on the side of just tasting like a chicken pizza slice with a slight hint of buffalo flavoring, if that. The Santoni's Special was a bit better in that it had green peppers, sausage, pepperoni, onion and mushroom. It reminded me of a Sbarro supreme slice of pizza. It might not seem like much of a compliment, but I actually enjoyed the Santoni's Special, albeit it was not on the piping hot side, nor did it keep is shape. In fact, neither slice I had was hot, which was very surprising considering that it took a while for them to be served to us, which can only have meant that it was heated up in the oven --- or so I thought????? Also, both slices I ate completely fell apart in that when I tried to fold them in half (like how a true New Yorker eats their slices of pizza), they cracked at the crust and broke creating a fissure looking like I had cut the pizza in that area. It was somewhat annoying as I had to eat the slice with 2 hands, which to me, is a big no-no as one should be able to devour a slice by holding it with just one hand. What self-righteous pizza lover holds a slice of pizza with 2 hands? Well, I had to unfortunately because of the fault line on my pizza. The pizza here definitely has potential and I don't know what a whole pie would taste like, but I'm pretty sure it would be fresher than the slices we had. I get that pizzas where slices are served from are typically sitting out for long periods, but you gotta heat the slices up a lot longer. Cold pizza should only be reserved for the morning when you wake up from that hang over and don't have the mental acuity to throw it in the oven or microwave it. read more

A solid pizza joint with a ton of variety. Plenty of parking off of a busy Godwin Ave. Service was quick and good was fresh. I went with the Big Mac Slice and a Margherita Slice. The Big Mac Slice was interesting. Was good for a one time novelty but I most likely wouldn't get it again. It was just one of those things that you had to try, it was good but just too quirky for me. The Margherita slice was solid. Sauce was excellent and the crust wasn't too heavy. Exactly what we were looking for. A casual pizza place for lunch with a friend, where we could each order individual slices to our liking. Their display case has at least 10-12 different pies of different shapes (Square and round) and many different varieties. The parking lot is tight if you go on the weekend. It can be hard to find parking. The employees are very nice. I ordered the macaroni wedges they didn't have much taste. The side sauce was ok. We had 2 and didn't finish the rest. I ordered the spaghetti it was OK. I probably would just try the pizza next time. I just felt the food could have been better. To update my review, Vinny from Santoni's did reach out apologized and compensated us for our inconvenience. His apology and willingness to make things right was genuine and I'm going to chalk this up to a bad night and I will definitely try them again in the future.. I normally never write reviews however I felt compelled to this evening. My mother-in-law took a fall before Christmas, from the hospital She went into a rehab center and is finally home with a live in aid. Today was the first night that myself, and my sons were able to see her and celebrate Christmas, I asked her what she would like to eat and she said she was craving pizza, but she didn't care where we ordered from. I've heard so many wonderful things about Santoni's and because my mother-in-law lives in Ridgewood and it was close by that's where I decided to order from. I placed an online order at 5 PM and we left our house in Midland Park to head to my mother-in-law's thinking we would be there before the order was delivered. By 6:40 I called to see what the issue was and why we hadn't received our order yet they said let me check on it and came back saying they were sorry it was in progress and they had another huge order that they were trying to get out that our order would be going out shortly. It was at least another 30 to 45 minutes before it was actually delivered and mind you, it was literally blocks not miles from the restaurant to my mother-in-law's house when we finally received our order and we open the pizza boxes, This is what we saw.: needless to say we won't be ordering from there again anytime soon. read more

No matter when the fam wants Santoni's, the pizza is always delicious and hits the spot. And if you haven't tried it yet, def don't sleep on the Prosciutto Focaccia Sandwich! One of my client's picked this spot for lunch and they called in the order. I called to pay and the man seemed to not know what I was talking about after having me on hold for a while. We then had to call on a 3 way to verify and I paid. For my order I got the shrimp scampi with linguini. The food got delivered. I took mine home and dug in. Been ordering pizza from them since moving to Ridgewood. I believe I wrote a review for them in the past and raved about their pizza. So for the first time I ordered a few items completely different from my usual pizza. I realized I've been missing out on their other spectacular items. Ordered Italian sub- so good. Their pear salad, even better... with grilled chicken( sooo good!) my husband got the avocado Cobb with grilled chicken, I didn't get to try it but it looked really good too. The real winners on the Santoni's menu are their pastas and salads. They have a huge selection of pasta dishes and none of the four or five I've tried have disappointed. Portions are large and always tasty. The salads are fresh and also large. The pizzas aren't bad, far from it, but it's just standard NJ pizza same as most other places. Garfield pizza in Ridgewood -- old school meets hipster (sort of). This is not an artisanal foo foo joint with wood or coal burning anything and loads of buildup. It is a right between your eyes neighborhood pizzeria run by a young crew with attitude. Chris and his staff have been dishing out quality pizzeria fare at this mini mall location for the past 3 years -- with value pricing that is hard to beat -- in a town top heavy with pricey and dicey fast food joints. I am impressed. Santoni's location is fresh, clean, bright and reasonably spacious. Looks like they do a very brisk take out business, but there are plenty of eat in tables should you choose to stay (as we did), even though parking can be sketchy in their tight lot. The calzones and calamari were outstanding! Simply the best I've tasted in town -- and I have tried them all. The "supreme" calzone is killer. The dough is crunchy, crispy and thin (like thin crust pizza) and stands up to the filling, which is that perfect combination of great mozz and sweet creamy ricotta - amped up by 4 different kinds of meats. I ate half and was full -- but forced myself to shcarf the second half because it really was that good. The fried calamari we shared had a delicate, thin, crisp and well seasoned coating and melt in your mouth squid inside -- plus the portion size was generous. Unexpectedly outstanding in every way. Even the "go with" marinara had rich flavor and low acidity - not acrid and tinny like others I've tried in town. Someone in this kitchen is paying attention to the low level details. I like that. Our boys had specialty and plain pizza slices -- and what I tasted of their dinners was very decent -- not the best I have eaten in the county -- but honest and solid slices. I would have preferred a thinner crust and less cheese -- and Chris points out that he will make your pie to suit -- so next time I will ask for it "my way." I will happily upgrade my review to 5 stars after follow-up trips -- if the pie measures up. I hate to give up on my old reliable pizzeria (Renatos), but the quality and value at Santoni's is sufficiently better for me to switch. Santoni's is the most reasonably priced pizza place that I've found in Ridgewood and its surrounding towns. Aside from that, not much differentiates it from other pizzerias in the area, but it's a solid choice for anyone in search of a regular, no-frills pie. And more often than not, that's exactly what we order: a couple of large cheese pizzas. It's a decision everyone can agree upon, simple and difficult to mess up. The food is always consistent, and Santoni's has yet to let us down. There's definitely room for improvement, however, specifically when it comes to accurately communicating the estimated pickup time. It isn't unusual for us to wait thirty or forty-five minutes longer than originally quoted before our pizza is ready. I recognize that there are other customers and the place is busy, but if significant delays are expected, the proposed wait time should be adjusted accordingly, once the order is confirmed. Based on some of the other reviews, it seems like this occurs frequently, which is a shame. That said, I'll still head to Santoni's for takeout, but I'll make sure to call further in advance. read more

Please be advised that I tried to be fair and waited for a follow up before posting this review. Two weeks ago, my husband and I decided to do the usual -grab 2 plain slices of pizza for our daughter since it Friday. My husband ordered fried ravioli alongside an order of fried calamari. I decided to grab a few pieces of the calamari but wondered why they had added so much black pepper in the batter; as I picked up a piece to put in my mouth I looked closer because the black pepper just looked to big (lol...black pepper on steroids). Should I let anyone guess or say it myself- MOUSE DROPPING in the batter. Of course my heart dropped wondering how much of this mice poop had I eaten before realizing that there was mice dropping in the fried calamari. I called the store to inform them of what had happened and the young man I spoke to questioned me asking me if I was sure and that maybe it was the black pepper. He asked me to send him a pick (which I did) but no follow up. After the conversation with him I almost want to make the assumption that it was an intentional cover up for their mistake; not towards me in particular. However, the black pepper was to cover up the mouse poop so that they would not dispose/waste their infested/contaminated food. This is not good business. I would have backed off if someone at least made the effort to apologize or follow up for this grave mistake. Offering me $2 more than what my order is was not ok. As a matter of fact it's an insult. I had to inquire for my refund. Please reconsider how you do business and how you respond to your returning customers concerns. It's very worrisome that they were so passive about this. This is a big health concern. Unfortunately, this will be the last time that we will frequent this place. read more

I've never been to Santoni's before so thought I'd try it out. Small pizzaria right in Ridgewood next to Whole Foods with a small parking lot and street parking. Of course I ordered Chicken Francese. I was very disappointed with the dish. I wish I took a picture because it actually looked really delicious until I started eating it. It had a strange kick to it like some kind of spice. I realized I was eating small pieces of onions that were dispersed throughout the dish. I also believe it to have had too much pepper. I've never had this dish with onions included and I don't recommend eating it while onions are part of this dish. I will not completely give up on this pizzeria just by one visit. Clean and well lit pizza place next to Whole Foods in Ridgewood. Plenty of parking, and on a Tuesday night, it was pretty busy. The website has specials for Tues & Wed night, so I assumed that's what people were coming for. I tried two slices: Chicken BBQ and the Meat lovers (ham, bacon, meatball, pepperoni and sausage). The Chicken BBQ slice was yummy! I really liked the sauce, and it didn't overpower the slice. I appreciated that the slice wasn't too thick but also not too thin. The Meat Lovers slice was meh. The slice was very heavy, and all the meat didn't hold up well. It was very bland. My friend had his usual chicken francese over angel hair (extra $2). It came with bread, and the chicken francese was a large portion. I wasn't so crazy about it because it had a sharp and bitter lemon flavor, and it also had onions. The latter is very surprising for chicken francese. Prices are very fair- $6.40 for 2 slices and about $12 for the entree. Service was friendly and quick, even though they were busy. There is a decent amount of seating available. I'll be back for pizza and maybe to try out sone other entrees. read more

I know that Santoni's Pizzeria has been a beacon business in the community for a long time; however, our experience was subpar. I placed an order at 5:41pm and did not receive our order via delivery until 8pm. I called the restaurant 7 times with the phone staying busy for at least 25 min. When I finally got through, I was placed on hold for over 16 min. The worker then proceeded to say that they couldn't find our order; placed me back on hold for another 6 min and finally found our order and said it was on its way. It then took another 20 min for the order to arrive in which the delivery person left our order laying on my lawn and rang my doorbell and ran away. Not sure how to even feel about this... read more

The pizza was mouthwatering and delicious and this is coming from a guy who hasn't had pizza in a month and ordered the Santoni's Special. Absolutely worth it!! The salad was pear salad with raspberry vinaigrette which I really do not like the fruit in salad unless it's done very well. This is the only pizza place in Ridgewood that has this much selection and all their pizza is great, you can ask for a special slice and the workers will make it exactly how you'd like. Great customer service the manager is very kind and professional and suggested the penne vodka dish which was amazing. This place is a must visit when you're in the area, and I had it delivered to me as well and the drivers are classy and professional and for the most part are on time. We're from out of town and just stopped in after a long day in the hospital with a sick family member. They were just about to close but stayed open so that we could sit in and eat (and avoid eating in the cold car). Everyone was really nice and talked to us as we are. They did not rush is at all! Ordered 2 slices of margarita and 1 plain cheese. When we got our order they threw in an extra cheese! How nice is that? The margarita were awesome! Just as good as the city. The cheese was great too. During conversation we said we'd be back to try some of the others during the week and with that they gave us a slice of each to take home and to our sick relatives doctors for free!
