I always try to give businesses fair chances and am hesitant to leave bad reviews, but this experience was very disappointing and I want to urge others to be wary of the lack of hygiene in this nail salon. This was my first time here and I walked in 40 minutes before their closing time. There was another person getting a service and some girls in the front checking out. Wasn't busy at all but it clearly looked open. I asked for a pedicure but the woman in the front was very standoffish and tried to tell me they were already closed. I mentioned their listed closing time and her and a nail tech started talking amongst themselves and I guess the nail tech told her that she would take me. Another woman walked in maybe 15 minutes later to fill her nails and another nail tech said they were closed but then said they could do part of the service she asked for. I later asked if the closing time was 7 or 7:30 p.m. thinking maybe I had it wrong but the tech told me it was 7:30. I understand wanting to go home, but not accepting customers or lying to them while they are within a perfectly appropriate window of time seems like bad business. Coming in 40 minutes before close and 5 minutes before close are two very different things. The actual pedicure was okay and the nail tech was friendly, but my nails were cut uneven. I am also truly disgusted at the hygiene of this place. Chairs weren't wiped down. The tech was clearly using unsanitized tools and just tossing them back in her kit. Then she tried to file my nails with a used file and when I told her to stop and asked if it was clean, she opened the drawer to grab what I thought would be a new one. The "new" file looked just as dirty as the first one she attempted to use on me. I honestly should have left but I was already halfway into the pedicure and just sucked it up. Was not very impressed with this salon. I had to wait like 30 mins and no one really told me what was going on or who I was waiting for but whatever, I was a walk in, not a huge deal. What I was really unhappy about was the quality of the manicure. I was going on vacation for my birthday and I wanted long pretty coffin nails. This was my first time at Bellagio; my usual nail salon is tami and the only reason I didn't go there is bc they told me they don't do nail extensions with dip powder which is what I was looking for. So I gave Bellagio a try because the reviews were good and I had recommendations from a few people. So maybe I'm just unlucky?? Regardless, it's been a week and the polish is already chipping in places (normally I go 3 weeks not a single chip), not to mention they didn't paint the side of the nail???? (See pics). Also I was super disappointed with the shaping. It was just subpar. See the 2 pics of my nails compared to the pic I showed the dude. Also this mani was super expensive it was 55$ and at tami I pay 45$ for acrylics of muchhhhh better quality. I've been here multiple times since they opened, as they are right next to my gym. I have had nothing but fabulous experiences. Even when they are busy they make time for you. Tommy is amazing and he's the only nail tech I will see. He does excellent acrylic work and my almond shaped nails come out perfect every time. I decided to try this new place after I saw the sign for $20 gel polish. The gel color selection was not great. The nail tech was very young and very polite but he seemed extremely inexperienced and unsure of what he was doing. He didn't have any of the supplies at the station and left every couple of minutes to get the necessary tools. The gel polish does not look great. It is visibly lumpy and all over my cuticles on several fingers. I was sad that I did not like it but decided that for $20 this wasn't much of a loss. Then, as he rang me up, my total was 28$ (before tip.) I asked why and he said "The sign for 20$ is for a gel color change, you got a gel manicure." I was speechless at this deception. There is nothing on the sign to indicate that the $20 price is only for a color change. At no point did my nail tech make me aware of this. This has probably been the worst nail service I have ever had. First while doing my pedicure she kept on messing up and having to fix it. She did not clean around any of the edges of my nails and it just looks sloppy. Then when I went to do my manicure, she must have bumped her foot on my pedicure and messed it up (I didn't notice until I got home). After my SNS was removed, my fingers were all white from my them being soaked in the acetone. I thought that she was going to put lotion on me or clean off the excess but NO. She then began to do my cuticles but cut my finger and didn't even acknowledge it and allowed it to bleed and just paint over it. After she had "finished" and told me to let them dry, my nails were very messy land the nail polish was also not cleaned around the edges. I could have done a better job at home. Went in on a Tuesday which they weren't very busy. only waited 5 minutes which is no big deal. My nail tech was a gentleman, as usual we barely talked. I don't talk cause I get nervous so I keep to myself. But during my service I chose a regular manicure with gel nails but I had dip powder on them beforehand. anyways he removed the dip but once he got to the gel and using the LED UV light he would cut my time instead of the full 60 seconds he took it out or switch at 35-40 second. Then at the finale he put lotion on my arms and gave a massage with cuticle oil. I also request a pedicure to which he started setting up my chair, had the bucket filling up with water and I thought he was gonna do it but he just left me there in the chair with no communication whatsoever and took another client without telling me who was gonna do my pedicure. Which I find unprofessional there should have been some communication. This place used to be top notch and always busy. By far the worst manicure I have ever gotten. This was the first time I have walked into a salon where my nails looked worse leaving than entering. I called and asked for pricing on dip (SNS) nails, the man told me $40-$45. I was charged $50. I asked that my nails be squared off with rounded edges. The nail technician look most of the length off leaving me with short stubs. There was residue still under my nails and rough edges. She put a gel top coat (this was a first-maybe other places do this as well) there are spots on the nail where the gel coat didn't fully cover. The salon itself is beautiful and clean and the staff is extremely friendly and dedicated to ensuring you leave the salon thoroughly satisfied with the end result. I believe this place used to be Zen spa up near Lucky's, a place I really liked. I was very disappointed in their new business. First, they never bothered to change the address on their Yelp or Google pages for their old business, so it took quite a lot of extra time for me driving around town to their old address, driving around lost, then back across town to their new location. Second, the gentleman doing my gel manicure used an instrument to scratch up all my beautiful natural fingernails, probably so the gel would stick better? I've had several gel manicures and nobody has ever chosen to damage my nails before application. When he did it I didn't stop him, figuring he knew what he was doing, but now that I've gotten the gels removed, I see that my nails were actually damaged in this treatment. Again, it was a gel manicure on natural nails - not an acrylic, never had acrylics. Third, between my pedicure and manicure I had to wait about 45 minutes in the chair, so my entire mani/pedi took almost 2 HOURS. It took so long that I had to turn down the hand/arm massage I was very much looking forward to, because I just couldn't wait any more to start commuting to my next appointment. Fourth, my pedicure chipped after only 2 days. Pedicures on me usually last about 2 months. All in all, I wouldn't go back. They have the same comfortable interior as Zen nails had, but the quality of their service seems to have far decreased. read more

My pedicure took a while because my nail tech was assisting other people at the same time, and then after my nails were done I was left in my chair. Went for SNS on a weekend and loved the shape and thickness of my nails which is hard with SNS. The color I chose off a sample chart didn't match what I actually got it was supposed to be soft clear pink and it was high lighter pink instead which can happen with SNS colors so I asked to come back and get a color change. They wanted to do normal polish on top but I knew that wouldn't last the 3 weeks SNS usually does and I explained that and she gladly did gel on top and now I'm a happy customer. This is by far the worst salon I've ever been to. Not only do they reuse tools that they just soak in disinfectant(that doesn't kill all bacteria), but the cut job on my cuticles as you can see are awful. This is after one week of gel manicure and regular pedicure. That wasn't even the worst of it. I came in with a picture of white nails with an ombré glitter on the tops. When I showed the lady the picture, she said she didn't know how to do it so another girl switched with her. That was fine. It's also so rude to continuously speak in another language as a professional and not explain to the customer what you're doing. Then this new girl proceeded to paint my toe nails. After wiping off my toe nails at least 5 times, she asked me if what she had done was okay. Mind you, I've already wasted an hour doing my feet. I told her that it was fine and she could just use the orange sparkles to do tips since my toes were small. Afterwards, she continued to try on my hands and when it didn't work, she finally admitted she had never done it before. Obviously I was upset and so I didn't want to be an inconvenience by making her do something else. The owner saw this and came over to take over and speak to me. When I told him to just change to the current color I have in these pictures, he said okay, which was great. Except, here is why I will never go back after all of this. Instead of wiping off the white and orange sparkles I already had on my nails and toes, he proceeded to paint OVER the color. Being as though I am not one for confrontation and didn't want to spend another 2 hours in the building, I just paid and left. I have never been so disgusted by the hygiene and the lack of customer service. When someone clearly doesn't like something, you completely restart. I read their reviews and really wanted to be optimistic! They had great deals on pedicures but nothing on manicures posted (I could have missed that). I'm getting my pedicure and I see a huge roach/waterbug flopping on the floor. I tried to pretend that I didn't see it but I was grossed out. When it came to my manicure the tips of my nail kept becoming gooped up at the tips. She tried to keep correcting by adding more polish it but adding more didn't help. In Gainesville this weekend for my daughters graduation and we decided to get mani-pedis. We chose the Deluxe Spa Pedicure. Worst pedicure I have ever gotten. My tech rushed through it. Hardly gave me a massage. Extremely disappointing for a $35 pedicure. But more concerning was the fact that I witnessed the nail tech finish my pedicure and start another client without sanitizing her tools. I had to wait for my daughter, so I was there for quite a while. I saw her finish that client and put her tools back at her station and did not sanitize them AGAIN. I expected my experience at Bellagio Nails Spa to be superb due to the chatter around Gainesville about them. If youve been in Gainesville awhile, you know a good nail place is nonexistent! So, I confidently gave them a go. Well, my experience was not what i expected to say the least. My nail artist was Lyn, and let me tell you, this lady walks around like she is Queen Elizabeth. Trust me, she is far from it. Everything was going fine until I asked if she was good at writing on nails. (i did not say is it possible, my exact words were "are you good at...") This was important to me because I wasnt going to get it if it didnt look right. She wrote the words on 2 nails in about 30 seconds. It was very rushed and very sloppy. She also did not ask me what color the writing should be, she went ahead and decided the words were going to be black for me. After she did them i was very disappointed but did not say anything nd tried to convince myself they looked good while i was getting my toes done. I decided that i should not leave the store unhappy so i asked if it would be any trouble to take it off. She was very rude but agreed. Once she yelled at me across the store to come to where she was, i sat down at her table once again. When i told her what i would like instead she told me no she is not going to do anything because who knows if im going to change my mind again. Well i hadnt told her yet WHY i didnt like the writing. Once i told her how rude she was being to me, how she picked the writing color for me, and she rushed it so it looked very sloppy, i decided i will get exactly what i need at a different nail spa and i will never be returning to Bellagio. You cant have an LA attitude if you cant provide LA quality nails. Very disappointed as I thought I had just found my new favorite nail salon.
