A small independent shop. Bihn(sp?) does good work at fair prices and won't try to get you to do work that isn't needed. What else do you need is auto repair. The shop is no frills so don't expect a glamorous waiting area because there isn't one. read more

We found this place when in desparation one afternoon when starting our car and it made some pretty horrible noises. Being new to the area, we didn't know where to go, and took a chance here. Binh saw how bad the condition of our car was (unfortunately I can't remember the problem offhand) and fit us in right away, just as a walk in off the street, for an incredibly fair price, and had the car back to us in just a few hours. We came back another time for our car shaking on the drivers side and after inspecting it and driving it Binh relayed it was a tire issue, and gave us the number of a reliable source who could help us, without charging us anything for his diagnosis or time. I've used their services more than once. It was after reading the reviews from others that lead me to have my brakes done. I got my brakes done with them twice and don't have any issues. My issue came in, when I'd recently had my inner cv boots replaced. The owner pointed out that I needed them change. I knew this also, because I'd looked at both sides and was already told that they'd needed to replaced by other mechanics before he stated the same. Getting to the point. We set up a date to have them done. We both went the affordable route to have the boots changed vs the more expensive cv axel, which is both the entire axel that holds the inner and outer boots. So the price was 600 plus instead of 1700.00. I reside in the east Bay, so I always stay there until they finish the job. His mechanic, with his assistance changed both inner boots, including a thermostat. The total price? A little over 800. I'd asked him before I read the paper work, what was all done. He'd thought that I had forgotten about the thermostat. Nope. It wasn't until I'd got home and looked at the paper work and saw that he'd charged me for both the inner and out boots on both side. Nope. I couldn't let that slide. So I'd called him, and in the midst of the phone call, he tried to pull a mind game on me, telling me that when you change the boots, you always change them both. Two things here. I've worked on cars and know that's not true, unless the boots are also torn. Second. He'd never changed them. I'd watched the entire process. And when you look up under the car, you can see the original boots, which are dull in comparison to the newer boots. And the clamps are old vs the shinning clamps on the newer one. I was very disappointed in him, because even in the office, he tried to tell me that I wasn't sure what was needed. That's odd, because he was the one that initiated that job two different times when I was there. And second. When I was ready to get them done. He was the one who couldn't remember. I had to confirmed to him, what he'd told me. Anyways. I got my money back from the job. But these past few weeks have been draining where I wasn't on my game to beware of these types of games, like I normally would catch. He gave me less than half of what I should've gotten. It should've been a little over 300. To me. What is more insulting was, being bold enough to charge me more, right in my face vs being sneaky about it. The bottom line here is. The mechanic does his job and does it well. But you have to watch them. In particular, the owner. I had a guy a month before my recent job, who gets his car done there, told me that, if his father was there. He'd be on him about the shape of the place. I didn't get myself into that conversation. But looking back at it. I makes sense that this is the owner's old man's place, where I guess he took over. Just be aware of the job that's getting done and not getting charged for things that you don't need and don't need to get done. I won't be going back there after that bold move that he'd pulled. read more

I have been taking my cars to Binh for about five years now, and the reason why I'm such a loyal customer can be summarized by this scenario: a few years back my car was making a funny noise when I was driving it, so I took it to Bellam Auto for an eval. Binh took it for a spin on the freeway, and when he brought it back the sound was gone. Gravel in the wheelwell, he told me. Embarassed, I asked how much I owed him for his time. Nothing, he said--"Come back to me when you have a real problem". LOL... He spent at least a half hour on my non-problem, and didn't charge me a thing. I am so glad I took my car to Bellam Automotive for a second opinion. I found out that all I needed was a switch to my coolant sensor repaired and not the entire sensor replaced and that I needed a new oil gasket cap not a new oil gasket and pan........saving me several hundred dollars. Binh also showed me the poor workmanship he found on a shoddily repaired hose to my exhaust that should have been replaced instead. This auto repair service has a lot of integrity and since it's close to two rent a car agencies who pick up and drop off, I have found two good reasons to go back. read more
