I brought my car in for repair work after an accident, and while that portion was completed, the overall experience was frustrating and poorly managed. Once my car was transferred to the auto body shop, it became a completely separate system, team, and process--and the two sides clearly do not communicate. This disconnect caused confusion around payments, delays, and unnecessary out-of-pocket costs on my end, including having to pay $700 for a rental car that I originally was told I wouldn't need for that long. I was told my car would be dropped off in Novato once I made a payment. I paid the auto body shop, but the repair shop had a separate payment link that I couldn't access from my phone. I showed them the issue in real time, but instead of helping or offering another way to pay, they dismissed it and said it "worked fine" for them. Because of miscommunication between their teams, my car was not actually in Novato as promised, and I had to wait around for them to figure it out, which caused even more delays and inconvenience. On top of that, the person I was dealing with refused to call and help coordinate getting my car released or delivered until I paid through their system, even though their payment link was not working properly for me, which delayed me further and resulted in additional out-of-pocket costs due to their poor communication. No one took ownership of the situation, and the staff was rude and dismissive throughout the process. While the repair work itself may have been completed, the experience across both businesses was disorganized, unprofessional, and lacked basic customer service. I would not recommend. read more

Incredibly infuriating - I hit a bike rack at very low speed and my bumper cover panels popped. I brought my car to DNA - and they said my cameras would probably be off - but at no charge they put everything back into place, despite some permanent damage. I was considering buying new cars but I spoke with the guys at Napa Auto and they said DNA was a solid choice to fix up your current cars and have them running new. I have a little 08' GMC 5 cylinder, 2 door truck and a 2016 Hyundai Sonata Limited. My truck needed a complete and super thorough engine overhaul and tune up. The Hyundai needed a new passenger door and side mirror. First things first.....The level of customer service is the highest I've ever experienced when working with an auto shop. Not only is the place spotless but the staff is happy, informative, congenial and will bend over backwards to help you with the problem that you need fixed. They don't play games. In short...my truck is running like new and has power to spare. The Sonata door looks great and they even fixed a few small dings and blemishes at no charge and recommended the best wash and detail guy in town, (Mr. Earl), who's located in the same business park. The guys at DNA were willing to look at my car on very short notice and let me know that, although the car did need some work (which was more than they could do that afternoon), it was safe to drive. I wanted to like this place & make them my regular mechanics. They seemed nice enough. Unfortunately, they never could fix my air conditioner after paying hundreds of dollars and making four trips to them. One of the trips they didn't charge me. However, after a week or so each time, the air conditioner would stop working. The last time I went back, they told me they couldn't find the problem and that I should take it to the dealer. I didn't want them to try again because I couldn't trust them to fix it. I decided to take it back to my old mechanic in another city. He was able to repair it that same day. No back-n-forth & spending money for them to figure it out. I feel I was ripped off by DNA since they never fixed my car, yet I had already paid them. I've never had a mechanic not be able to fix my car after I paid them. I would say beware of this place because they lack the competence. read more

We just had DNA do some bodywork on an older Toyota Highlander that was dented in a number of places. The quality of work was excellent, you can't tell it even had any dents before. One was very difficult to fix, it was the lift tailgate and I bought a used one on ebay that was damaged in shipping. They were able to repair that and now it looks like new. Paint matches perfectly....these guys are highly skilled and really know their stuff. The price was very fair... these were not insurance claims, so they worked with us to help us find a way to make it happen. We're once again extremely satisfied with DNA. Staff is amazing, you feel like someone in your family is taking care of you. New cars are very expensive (original price, taxes and license fees $$$$) and you can save quite a bit of money fixing your old vehicle to look and run like new. I've worked with DNA through general service for my vehicle but mainly 2 minor collisions where it needed body work. Will has helped me through both and has made everything seamless. He made sure the insurance would be working for me and kept me updated along the way. I have used these guys once before and they have always been reliable and upfront. This time I needed to get the battery replaced in my truck. I contacted them via Yelp and got an immediate quote for the battery replacement and it came with a 5 year warranty on the battery, which is great. I typically have to replace my battery about every 3 years. The only suggestion I would recommend is they quote to let you know the out the door cost including taxes and any disposal fees required. Lincoln MKS was intermittently running rough and stalling. I made an app't on Wednesday to drop it off that Friday morning. They had a comprehensive inspection report ready online within a couple of hours. I authorized the work and it was ready by 1pm that day. I thought it would be at least a full day if not two. They are friendly, good at communication and knowledgeable . I will be back for a recommended tune up and future service as needed. The local Lincoln dealership wouldn't have been able to look at the car until mid March! read more

Marco is the worst part of DNA. I came in to get the balance of my coils swapped out 1. He said the parts couldn't be in b4 Monday (Napa, their neighbor parts store got them same day 2:30; 2. He tells me Napa won't have them and they never get the ETA correct, I'm like it's 10am, & I didn't ask for the commentary; 3. Napa was kind enough to walk the parts over, he sent them back stating it was too late to do the repair. DUDE, just keep the parts! The service btw - swap out spark plugs & the corresponding coils.
