The service at this gas station is top-notch. I had my car smogged here for the first time, and they made the whole process a breeze. I dropped it off, grabbed a quick bite at the Town Center, and picked it up within an hour. Nikhil, who is often at the counter, is incredibly friendly and a genuinely wonderful person. I always enjoy stopping by for a quick fill-up or in between bike rides, and it's great to exchange a quick hello. Definitely worth the few extra couple cents!

Keith pulled it into their driveway and had a preliminary diagnosis on the brake issue within five minutes. Put the car on the lift, and confirmed the issue within twenty minutes, all while doing the oil change while I waited. Suzanne is the Service Advisor, she's an absolute gem. If you're their for just a quick service, she'll make sure you're well attended to and not lonely during your wait. Didn't bat an eye when I told them I do most of my own work - no judgement, still happy to work on my car. Keith is a solid dude that will take care of your car like his own, and he works with some like-minded people who truly care. Go see them.

You do have to down load a coupon but I'll attach it to my review so you can just show them and get the discounted rate! I called the facility around 4pm and asked if they could run a smog check on my Toyota Prius that day and they said yes! I arrive at around 4:40 and they saw me immediately with no wait. They ran a few tests which took about 15 mins. The total price was $40+$8 card fee so just under $50 which is a decent deal. I've been to other locations San Francisco as well and this is pretty much the lowest price you can find. The guy running the test was polite and efficient. He did make me wait out in the cold though when I could have just sat in my car and not affected his testing but whatever. Also didn't wear a mask the entire time which seems to be consistent with other people's reviews about not being "COVID safe." Overall, I had a pretty easy in and out experience which was reasonably priced.

They don't have long confusing lines like the other cheap gas locations. The staff is friendly and the inside business area is clean. There are big signs indicating "no backpacks" so shoplifting must be an issue. This location even has a service area to fix your car. It's a quick in and out!

The owner really needs to get better help. It's shameful that you can't even buy milk from a convenience store these days without having to watch out for some kind of scam.

I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with DNA Automotive after my car was broken into and disabled over Thanksgiving weekend. What should have been a straightforward repair turned into a costly, frustrating ordeal due to their incompetence, poor communication, and questionable practices. First, I had my car towed to DNA because they were the only shop open and could secure my car indoors. AAA tested my battery at the tow and confirmed it was new and fully charged. However, DNA insisted my battery was dead and could not hold a charge and replaced it, in my opinion unnecessarily, ignoring my concerns. At the onset, DNA advised me to file a claim with my insurance company, which I did immediately. They assured me they could handle the repairs and key reprogramming. Despite this, I had to chase them for updates every step of the way. Days passed with no clear timeline, leaving me paying out-of-pocket for a rental car longer than necessary. After having my car for 4 days, I was informed they installed the wrong window--a coupe window instead of one for my convertible. This left my car exposed to the elements. They then presented me with two expensive options: a $500+ salvaged window or a $1,100 dealer window. I called Safelite and got a quote of $600 with a discount for a new window. When I mentioned this, DNA had no reasonable explanation for their inflated pricing. To add insult to injury, they demanded I pay in full before picking up my car, despite my insurance claim being active and the wrong window installed in my car. Their excuse? They started work before receiving the claim, essentially forcing me to front the money and deal with insurance reimbursement myself. This reeks of a deliberate tactic to avoid dealing with insurance companies directly. After paying in full and retrieving my car to avoid additional rental costs, I discovered missing panel parts on the passenger door where they installed the wrong window. DNA passed the blame onto a third-party installer and told me to address it with them when the new window gets installed. My relationship is with DNA, not any 3rd party. DNA had my payment in full for 14 days, before the window was installed with the correct one, but of course not after my having to follow up with them several times. Another example of their disregard and poor customer service. This entire experience has been a disservice. DNA Automotive's lack of professionalism, poor communication, and questionable ethics have cost me significant time, money, and patience. I wouldn't trust them with a bicycle, let alone a car. Save yourself the headache--go elsewhere. FOLLOW UP TO MY INITIAL REVIEW...EXTENDED WARNING After leaving my initial review detailing the issues with DNA Auto, I regret to say that the situation worsened. Following a 10-day wait for the correct passenger window, the window was finally installed. However, just three days later, the replacement window spontaneously shattered while my car was parked in our employee parking lot--witnessed by multiple people. I immediately called DNA Auto, only to experience their familiar lack of urgency and accountability. As before, they promised to "get in touch with the installer." After waiting eight hours with no follow-up, I had to call them back. Hector, my primary point of contact, informed me they had spoken to the installer and that I would now need to purchase a dealer window. At no point did they acknowledge that the window they installed might have been faulty, nor did they offer an apology for the massive inconvenience. When I asked how we could resolve this issue, Hector's response was shocking: because I had left a negative Yelp review, they were "not inclined to help me" unless I removed it. This blatant attempt to strong-arm me into retracting my review crossed the line from unprofessional to unethical. I refused and reminded them that I would escalate the matter to my insurance company. Hector smugly informed me that since I had paid out of pocket, my insurance company wasn't involved--essentially dismissing my concerns. I called my insurance company anyway, as DNA Auto is on their "preferred vendor list." To my relief, they took my complaint seriously, contacting DNA Auto directly and filing a formal report to investigate their practices. Shortly after this, DNA Auto issued a refund to my credit card--without any communication, explanation, or apology. I only discovered the refund five days later while checking my account. This entire ordeal has been a nightmare, revealing DNA Auto's utter disregard for customer satisfaction and ethical business practices. Their actions--delayed responses, refusal to take responsibility, and retaliatory behavior--should serve as a serious warning to anyone considering their services. Bottom line: DNA Auto cannot be trusted. Proceed at your own risk. read more

I'm a Marin native, so I know prices can usually be very expensive. I decided to try a shop for the first time instead of going to the dealership. I called DNA Automotive for an oil change, and they said they could take me in the same day. They were a little busy, but that makes sense--they aren't just an oil change stop. The pricing was actually pretty reasonable, and my service advisor, Miguel Mendoza, helped me right away. I can honestly say there's no other place so far that feels as trustworthy in Marin. Miguel walked me through my inspection, which included a multipoint check. I was able to see photos showing what was good, what needed attention, and what was a must. I will definitely be doing my tires with them. They told me I still have tread left, and you can clearly see that in the inspection photos--very honest. The quote was reasonable, and most tire shops don't tell you that you get warranty, free tire rotations, and free tire patches when you buy from them. Thank you, Service Writer Miguel Mendoza. What a relief to find a reliable, full-service auto repair establishment that is professional, trustworthy AND has top notch customer service! I had to get some body work done on my Prius, and received the best care and service from Will Banuelos. He was able to quote me a price, let me in on his process of how he came to that price, and gave me choices on how to move forward. In addition to the exceptional body work, the rest of my car was cleaned and spiffed up after a few days at DNA, such that it came out looking quite a bit newer than when it went in. My extended family is now taking all their cars to DNA. They will be my one stop shop from now on; from wiper blades, to oil changes, to body work. I feel so fortunate to have found DNA and to be free from the clutches of the auto dealerships or other less thorough, professional automotive outfits. From the moment I walked into the clean, pleasant waiting room, it was a great experience. I was greeted amiably by Donny and Antonio, the two owners. The car had sustained front end damage while parked which crumpled up the left front. Their Operations Manager, Will Banuelos, took care of the whole process, the crazy insurance issues and the estimate. He directed the technicians. He arranged for a rental car and transportation to the rental office. They started work on the car immediately. I depend totally on this little car and was concerned for how long this might take. Within a couple of days, Will called to say that the car was ready. It looks like a new car!!! I noticed they had even cleaned the interior to leave it customer-ready. I have been referred here by a friend 2 months back and it's now my third time being back. I feel blessed and happy that I went through with it. I'm usually skeptical about when my friends refer me but Will Banuelos and his whole crew made me feel at home. I couldn't stress enough to them how bad I needed my car to be fixed and how stressed I was with getting new tires and having the funds for it. They reassured me that they will work with me and made sure I fixed everything I needed. My car is running better than ever and I can't wait to go back. It just amazes me that a company can be so family orientated because that's hard to find now a days. Usually you go somewhere and all they care about is money but not DNA Autoshop. This is my first review for yelp so I thought it should go to these guys. In 2012 I bought a 2010 Accord used. At first it was driving fine, but recently I have been having trouble with it. I took it to these guys and after not sleeping for 2 days they tell me that my engine is pretty much shot. Told me replacing everything and labour would run my 4K. So I agreed cause I have worked with them before and they took care of me so out of good faith I agreed to it. The next day I'm on my way to there shop to drop off a deposit when Antonio told me that he spoke to Honda and that it was still under warrenty or something like that and we didnt need to go through the process meaning I just saved 4K. To me that says alot about a business when they had a chance to make money they choose to go above and beyond. Basically what I'm trying to say is GO TO THESE PEOPLE IF YOU HAVE CAR PROBLEMS, they will take care of you and really such great guys. read more

I want to give a big shout out to the guys at DNA Automotive. Their great customer service, competitive pricing, and full mechanical and collision repair shop put them way ahead of their competition! I recently brought my daughter's car in to have a rear-end collision repaired. Will, who runs the collision repair shop, was great to work with. He handled all the insurance negotiations and paperwork for us and had the car out of the shop quicker than expected. The 5 year old car looked brand new when they were finished. DNA even put a complementry coat of wax on the car, which certainly wasn't expected. I've also had my car in for automotive repair. Antonio and Donny are great business owners and know how to treat their costumers. They have a lot of cars going through their shop, but always seem to find an opening for you. Will Banuelos and DNA Automotive in San Rafael helped us out tremendlesly. We had damage to our Ford van due to an incident of a vendor's tent flying into our van and causing scrathes to bodywork and cracking the windschield. Will helped us out out with getting the repairs covered by the insurance company. He really went out of his way to insure we got the best deal. He handled the insurance, the paperwork and got the repairs done with diligence and great professionalism. More so he is a awesome guy with a warm hart and made us feel welcome and understood our stuation. I trust him 100%. This is a great place for everything that you would like to have done on your vehicle from the smallest issue like fixing your a flat tire to professional body work. Personally I have brought my car in for almost everything. I have been taking my Ford Mustang in for over a year and never had any issues afterwards. Just recently I brought my car in after I had gotten into accident, Both Donny and Will helped me out with the process explained everything very clearly, even helped me get set up with a rental the same day. DNA Automotive equals honesty; integrity; experts at auto repair and especially CUSTOMER relationships. Auto repair shop I trusted for 15 yrs - AFTER $600.+ in fees for rebuilt starter, I was informed my auto needed a rebuilt transmission for $2500.00. A friend suggested I go to DNA Automotive for 2nd opinion... NOT only was a transmission NOT necessary but very little was required to have my vehicle repaired. total repair fee was less than $200.00, I literally asked them if they were certain of the fee... The guys at DNA delivered again! Both Antonio and Donny are very knowledgeable and make major problems seem easy. I trust them completely to provide a fair estimate and to get the work done on time, for the price that was estimated. I have brought my car over for mechanical repairs quite a few times and I have never had a problem with their service. I constantly refer friends because I trust them fully. I also heard DNA now provides body work too. I hope I won't need it, but I'd certainly recommend people to get an estimate there. DNA provides the most honest and reasonably priced auto repair I have ever experienced. I first worked with DNA when I just moved to the area and my car broke down. DNA took the car in immediately and fixed it on the spot. We took my son's car in today and had booked an appointment to replace the brake pads, but got a call from DNA after they assessed the situation and informed us that we did not need new pads, but the issue could be resolved with a much less expensive adjustment. We have had multiple repairs done and can always count on DNA to be honest with prices far less than any other mechanics I have worked with. read more

On Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, my battery went dead and I very happily landed in the good hands and care of DNA Automotive, who helped me immediately despite a busy day at the shop. Donny was actually done with his shift and one foot out the door, but he took extra care and time to help me identify the issue with my car and stayed late to make sure I was taken care of. My 3-year lease was expiring and I had a few body issues I needed to take care of before I turned it in. I've never used a body shop before this and DNA set the bar! I worked with Will and he was very transparent with all the costs and helped me navigate through the insurance claim. These guys are amazing automotive detectives. I had a Honda problem that had defied multiple mechanics, including the shop foreman for a Honda dealership. They spent 2 hours on the car, persistently tracing all the potential causes and finally found an incredibly obscure electronic malfunction that was causing all my problems.
