We're visiting friends in Jersey City this weekend and wanted a walkable coffee shop - this place was just around the corner and we're so glad we popped in! The store is bright and sunny with lots of windows and plants everywhere. The staff were nice and made a solid recommendation for my latte. I ended up ordering a Dulce de Leche iced latte, and my husband got an iced caramel latte! If you find yourself in the area, swing through! The coffee is tasty and the flavors are strong! We tried this place for the first time in hopes of finding a go-to breakfast joint. While the cool decor and polite staff are a big plus- they ask you a million questions about how you want your food, only to add something you never asked for in the first place My partner had the pressed grilled cheese sandwich - seems simple enough, but there was JELLY on the bread!! Big thumbs down. This is a terrible spread to put on a cheese sandwich without asking if the patron wants it. They shouldn't have spread another cheese on instead. The sweetness really ruined the meal, so make sure you let them know NO JELLY! It's like dipping a sausage in chocolate and saying nothing wrong with that. Yuck!! I had the egg and cheese on croissant and it was nice and fluffy - though I don't think the eggs were made on a griddle from the texture of their consistency. They tasted microwaved possibly. The coffee is ok. I had herbal tea, which you can't go wrong with. Overall a nice experience. Recommend for a quick bite and no big expectations. read more

A cozy cafe off of the hustle and bustle of JFK Blvd. The cafe is walkable, located on Cottage (just a 100 ft off of the boulevard). I was warmly greeted when I entered and allowed time to review the menu. There were 4 other people in the cafe working and waiting for their order. I ordered the Feta-Avocado Toast without papitas (pumpkin seeds). I thoroughly enjoyed the avo toast. The feta was supremely creamy, almost as though it had been whipped. The acidity in the tomatoes was cut by the sweetness of the balsamic drizzle. The white toast was sizeable and firm. I am looking forward to returning and trying other items, especially the handcrafted beverages. read more

I've been here a handful of times, especially since it opened, and I love this place. Cute little cafe vibes and a little hidden from the main streets, but awesome sandwiches and drinks! Service is always nice and considerate -- could be a little slow during rush hours as they only have a few staff and a small kitchen, but it's worth the wait. My favorite lunch sandwich is the Meathead sandwich for sure. Lots of flavor from the mustard sauce, and meaty goodness. I also love their blueberry lemonade, it's super refreshing for summer weather! Great place for a quick coffee or quick bite, and to have a casual date. This is a total oasis in the middle of an area that seems to be constantly under construction! It is bright & cheery with a small seating area that includes a cozy little couch. The staff are always upbeat & fun. Peep their Instagram page for a chuckle! They take pride in their seasonal hot & cold drinks & offer a tasty breakfast/lunch menu with fresh ingredients. The whole place including the bathroom is always clean which is pretty impressive for how white everything is. You can also see them preparing everything for you, & they are super sanitary. Journal Sq is not my favorite area of Jersey City, but I actually go there just for this place! Check it out! You will not be disappointed. read more

Came here with friends for breakfast, we got the iced matcha latte, disco inferno, trippin on shrooms, and iced chai latte. The staff were friendly and the inside was clean. My sandwich wasn't too heavy for a breakfast sandwich and tasted great! Ever since Square 1 closed early in the pandemic, this neighborhood has been missing something. I stumbled across this place after seeing a sandwich board on JFK (side note: you guys need to advertise more, I would have come in sooner had I known this hidden gem was tucked in here). Anywho, let's talk food. It's great. Full stop. I spotted at least 6 hot sauces so I knew I was in good hands. Love the music, the decor, the vibes are immaculate. Even the retail wall is cute. Avocado toast wasn't always a buzzword deployed by misogynist financial "experts" who condemn $12 purchases on this Insta-friendly snack as reckless while encouraging people to buy $60,000 cars and $3M beach houses. Meanwhile, others saw AvTo not as evil, but as a quick cash-in attempt targeting the young and undiscerning (described in my book The Third-Wave Poke Bowl Problem). Bella Ame, by contrast, is a sincere purveyor. Its baseline bread and topping are exemplary for classicists. And its more modern spin, the Loaded version with tomatoes and jalapenos, is a masterful example of how to change something without obliterating it. It's kind of like how I prefer the tricked-out, 80's production version of Taylor Swift's "Love Story" over the "real" one. at the risk of being judged for my large order, I'll also mention that I enjoyed the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. read more

Absolutely love this new café in the JSQ area already! First off, the location is amazing - it's about 2 blocks away from the JSQ Path station. The inside of the store is beautifully decorated and they've got some seating options. The menu is also pretty awesome! As of right now, they said they'll be getting decaf options within the week, so that's even better. I tried their BEC on a croissant & an iced matcha latte and loved both items. Good drinks, good food, good vibes. A cozy little place that offers a variety of food and drinks. Service was also great, the people here are really friendly. I got lucky and decided to stop by when a live jazz band was playing outside. They definitely added to the cozy ambiance and were very talented. I got myself a breakfast sandwich and iced vanilla latte. Egg, cheese, and avocado on a plain bagel. The bagel was great, toasted to perfection. The avocado was perfectly ripe. The egg was cooked well too. Simple but delicious. The coffee was sweet but not overly so and tasted great. They were able to swap for milk alternatives and I got mine with oat milk. My sister came by about an hour later and we both ordered a different flavored lemonade before departing from the Cafe. I got the blueberry lemonade and she got the strawberry lemonade. Both were made fresh with fresh fruits. Not sure if any additional sweetner was added but they were both perfectly sweet (not too much). The blueberry lemonade was more tart than the strawberry lemonade but both were delicious and we enjoyed the fruit pieces left in the drink. I really appreciated my time here and can't wait to go back and try more from the menu:) read more

Fantastic coffee shop/restaurant. Besides such an amazing staff and service, the food and coffee was rocking! Definitely take recommendations, because they know their stuff. The Good: Place is cute, clean and modern. Coffee tastes decent. Staff is Friendly. Staff is wearing masks and they have antibacterial gel. Sandwiches: Loaded avocado toast and chicken avocado sandwich were yummy The so-so: They stop selling breakfast dishes at 11 ( some of us like to eat breakfast for lunch lol). They don't have a full kitchen so you can't specify how you'd like your eggs. They have two staff doing everything: The register, making drinks and making the sandwiches which can sometimes mean a bit of a wait if there's a couple of costumers and you're waiting for food. The Bad: None Final Verdict: Will keep coming for occasion coffee and to try their other sandwiches. read more
