If you're looking for a queer-inclusive, body positive and trans* friendly bridal shop with an amazing selection, then you've found it! When it came to finding the right dress, they were the only shop that not only curated styles for us, but also let us roam through the racks ourselves. Their stylists are AMAZING. They helped me find my dream dress; sleek / minimal and form fitting - something I NEVER thought I'd be able to pull off in a "plus sized" body. But like magic, they did it! Additionally, they helped my fiancé find a BEAUTIFUL gown that flattered her "male shaped" body, having her leave the store feeling more beautiful and gender affirmed then ever! We had a really difficult time finding a bridal shop that could tailor to both our needs, but they did! In terms if experience, you'll absolutely love it. You walk in and feel so special greeted by your name on their sign and champagne. They accommodated having two brides shop together by giving us a large dressing room and helping us curate our looks at the same time so they looked fabulous together. As two brides, we had a large group of people with us (untraditionally) and the shop was extremely accommodating and had enough space for both of us to have a mom and MOH with us. Other shops traditionally limit you to 2 guests only (including the bride) So this was extremely helpful! They continued to help us beyond just our in-store-shopping experience. When my fiancé fell in love with a dress we couldn't afford, the manager (without us even asking) reached out to the designer herself to ask if they could give us a discount on it. It made us feel like so much more then just another customer, but so cared for and thought of. They were not pushy at all with the sale of the dress, even letting us come back a second time at no charge, when we had second thoughts! They continued to guide us through our dress shopping journey, keeping our needs and boundaries in mind. We really appreciated it. We've worked with 19 vendors and visited 11 dress shops while planning our weddings. Belle was by far the best one. They are kind, accomplished, inclusive and thoughtful. You will not regret your experience there. We both encourage you to make your first stop for dress shopping at Belle! Also our family did us dirty with these candids lol!! I promise we were happy, even if we dont look it. The photos attached are the un-altered try ons!

My experience with Belle Atelier was nothing short of incredible. I never could've imagined shopping for bridal wear in the middle of a pandemic but that is where I found myself. The shop was spacious and they made sure to space out appointments so everyone felt comfortable. I had so much fun trying on wedding attire and I was so impressed by the selection. As a 'non-traditional bride' I was very dissatisfied with the offerings at other salons but Belle's offerings were absolutely incredible. I tell everyone about the great experience I had. Loved being able to support Belle Atelier by purchasing the wedding jumpsuit of my dreams. Shout out to the best bridal wear staff in the biz! Bunch of lovely people :)

I wish I had discovered this bridal shop sooner. I fell in love with a gown when my friend was shopping for her wedding dress (& she found her dream dress there ) If I didn't already have my dress, I would've snatched it I like Giselle because she's not pushy and doesn't lie and tell you every single dress looks amazing on you, she wants to help you find a dress you will actually love.. Belle Custom Atelier is tucked away in the Water Tower Mall building. It was a bit hard to find, you have to go into the north side entrance of the mall (across from the side of Hancock Tower) where the Freshii is, go up the elevator behind the Freshii to level 9, and you'll see it. It's full of amazing (and some really cute and affordable) gowns, accessories, and Giselle even makes custom pieces and does alterations! Can't wait until my dress comes so I can take it over to her for alterations.

We had the most amazing experience at this shop with Lauren. We reserved an appointment for two hours which gave us adequate time to look for dresses and plenty more time for the bride to try them on. They have a wide range of dresses that include classic and chic to modern or glitzy. So many beautiful choices, but the best part was the service we received from Lauren. She made the bride and our party feel so special, the experience here really felt one of a kind. She answered all of our questions, made sure we were comfortable, and had great advice for the bride. Instead of feeling stressed shopping for a dress, we had a blast and the bride left over-joyed with her pick. We can't thank Lauren enough for her help, she really made our day so memorable!

Kyndal was great to work with! Very patient and so fun. I left the boutique loving two dresses as they had a great selection to pick from.

I took in two pair of jeans (one brand-new, one vintage) for alteration. The new pair just needed to be hemmed. I specified ORIGINAL HEM. They weren't embellished and didn't have difficult seams or finishes and they charged me $75 to hem and the original hem wasn't applied. I called them twice while I was waiting for them to be done (I wanted to remind them, because it was prom season and they were busy). the woman on the phone said "We always do original hem" but I didn't get original hem back and now the jeans look cheaply made (the hem is also crooked). The other pair is a vintage pair of Calvin Klein jeans that I bough a size too large so they could be tailored to my body. They charged me $100 for those, which also seemed steep but I paid it. When I went to pick them up, it's like no one had actually touched the jeans. I tried them on again for them to correct it and was specific when the attendant was pinning them. I still don't think they were done, because now it looks like I have saddlebags because they were never taken in on the hips where I showed. I have now paid almost $200 for two pair of jeans to be altered that weren't what asked for; getting it fixed at another tailor will mean even more money spent. I will continue my search in Chicago for someone who can make basic alterations to clothing. Not removing/adjusting seams or dealing with challenging fabric-just 100% cotton fabric. with basic hem or just taking inches in along the side seams. Basic tailoring shouldn't cost so much or be this hard.

When I finally found "the one" it was at the absolute top of my budget and still needed number of alterations to make it my dream dress. Ling story short I was able to find the dress for much less than at the store but between the original size of the gown and losing more weight for the wedding than I originally planned, I ended up with a dress that was easily 4 sizes too big and still needed work to to change some of the dress to the ideal state. Linda made it all happen!!! From making it fit like a dream to lining it just the way I asked to bustling it and my veil to perfection, she did it ALL. My gown was PERFECT and I wouldn't have changed a single thing- all because Linda is a magician!!! She is also kind, thoughtful, flexible and detail oriented. The guy kept repeating how he couldn't trust what I was saying like it was a he said/she said between me and the actual company doing the cleaning. 1) Your business is the front facing establishment I am doing business with - this is your responsibility. 2) he sent it back for free, which I was fine with - why the attitude? He made me mad, but it was unnecessary given we had a next step. When I went back to get it, it was almost all out, and he said he would send it back again, but again, it was the attitude. "This is the last time I will send it back for free" like it was my fault it happened - and at that point I'd already made up my mind I wasn't coming back regardless because of how he treats his customers. My husband went to pick up the shirt (it was his) and it was actually all out, but they started telling him how the stain wasn't pointed out the first time and he said that's because it wasn't there when it was brought here. They argued with him saying it was red sauce (no, it wasn't) and then another guy from the back came out swearing at him telling him he was a scam artist. We had arrived at a pretty easy solution, but they upped the tension each time to really piss us off with their attitude. Just be more customer focused!!
