The Short: Taryn is amazing. Book her for your next appointment! The Long: My first experience with this salon was fantastic. I called on a busy Saturday and spoke with someone right away. She explained she only had one slot available with Taryn (I'm sorry if I misspelled your name!). I graciously accepted. I was greeted instantly by the receptionist upon walking in. She was very welcoming and kind the duration of my appointment from check in to payment. Taryn was awesome. She asked me what I would like done, was very easy to talk to, etc. I showed her what I wanted and talked her through what I was going for. I told her I trusted her to make it look good. SHE DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Honey, she was G-O-O-D. And let me also say, she was FAST! I have never had a haircut and style as fast as Taryns. I was slightly alarmed at first and then when she got done she showed me her work and I loved it. She also asked me if I wanted to make any additional changes a few times to make sure it truly was what I wanted. Day 2 and I love it still! She did a great job. Efficient, gregarious, and sweet. 100% go see her. I know I will be back! read more

I wasn't particularly impressed with my blow dry experience. The person who was did my hair was really nice, but the whole thing took so long because she kept getting distracted by talking to other people at the salon and was generally quite slow. I had also asked for it to be straight and she ended up putting curls in that didn't even hold. When I reached the counter, I caught a better glimpse of myself (the chair I was in was so low to the ground I could only see what was above my chin,) and had to ask her to do the curls again and add a LOT of hairspray, because it was not going to hold by the time I reached my event and it was blisteringly hot and humid outside. I was right. Even with the hair spray and the second time around curls, by the time I reached the event I looked like a hot mess and just ended up tying up my hair up. I'm sure there are skilled professionals here, and maybe any other day and with someone else I might have had more luck, but sadly I will not be coming back here. 3.5 stars generously rounded up for the benefit of the doubt. read more

I received exceptional service from Naysa Lopez. I called because I needed to have a Cezanne Keratin Treatment to hopefully correct a botched treatment from another salon. Naysa asked me to come in for a strand test to make sure that the Keratin treatment would take and not do any further damage to my hair. The test worked and I came back the next day for the full treatment along with a cut. Naysa walked me thru the entire process. She is very knowledgeable and took great care and time with my hair. I would highly recommend her and the salon. I'll be back!! read more

First time at Belle Tresor, and I was lucky enough to get a same day appointment for highlights with Brenda. She happened to have a cancellation, so that's why I was able to get in. I had quite a bit of re-growth, and pretty damaged hair. Also, during one of my last few highlight appointments, the stylist completely messed up my hair- an 8hr "highlight" which didn't blend well, and looked more like an all-over color. So Brenda and I talked for a few minutes about expectations, pricing, and different options. I ended up getting highlights with a deep conditioning/keratin treatment, and I was very happy with the results. I already booked my next 2 appointments with her, because "holiday hair" time is right around the corner! I highly recommend Brenda. She took the time to listen to what I wanted, and gave me realistic advice. I love the color of my highlights ! read more

I went in with long hair (was growing it for over 3years) and showed my stylist (Brenda) the reference picture and right off the bat she said my hair was the wrong type for the style I picked. So after trying to tell her that I wanted that style or as close as she could to the photo she said ok and started cutting. I tried to make conversation with her but I could tell she didn't want to interact. While she was cutting she said she was going to cut it shorter than what she originally said and what I thought. She asked if I parted my hair a curtain way I told her to the right and she ignored it and cut it with no part. I'm upset because I haven't had time to relax after having my first child and this was the first time I could go somewhere alone and relax. I will never come back and would rather have my husband cut my hair. read more

Well, I've really been slacking on writing this review! I meant to do it shortly after my appointment but here we are, a month later. Whoops. I think that actually makes this review better though. See, I have crazy, color eating, warm toned hair that really hates to be anything other than a reddish-brown and I desperately want the red tones to stay far, far away from my head!! The stylist I saw was so informative. She really took the time to get to know my hair and didn't just try to match a pic off of Instagram. Instead we discussed what was the best path to take to get to my end goal and she made the longest foils I've EVER seen, to make sure the colors didn't muddy. It was pricey and it was a long time in the chair but my stylist was so professional and I left feeling excited about this hair journey. And the best part!! A month later, my hair has tried to sneak back those pesky red tones but the placement of the highlights have done a terrific job at hiding it!! read more

It's been a while since I've been here but honestly after going to a couple of better salons in Virginia I've realized that this location isn't as professional as others in my opinion. The couple of stylists that I've had from this location were pretty rough with brushing my long hair and for the price that you pay for everything I didn't really like that. Also, one time in the past I was talking to my stylist and accidentally said one cuss word and the owner walked by me and kind of rudely told me not to cuss, which I felt was a little rude because I wasn't being loud and it was an accident later the stylist apologized, but I honestly wouldn't ever go back. read more

I've been to this place twice. I don't ever get my hair done but when i do it always ends up being a last minute decision. First time i decided very last minute and i knew i probably wouldn't get seen because it was very short notice especially for a hair color. Well they tried their best to move things around and get me seen with anyone at the salon. They definitely didn't have to do that. They could've just told me no and that would've been it but they go over and beyond for their customers.. second time was actually today. I didn't know there was different types of blow outs and i just asked for a trim and blow out. Well after she did my blow out, my hair was just a fro. Mind you, my hair is thick, frizzy long and curly. She apologized that they didn't ask specifically what kind of blow out i wanted (i didn't think it was their fault) i was just going to go home and straighten it myself. But the owner told me they can get the apprentice to do it if i didn't mind and i agreed. She did an excellent job. I'm very happy with the outcome.. This was my first time using this salon and I will never go anyplace else. I walked in with NO appointment and was greeted with amazing attitudes and very welcoming staff. Meagan has magic hands omg, She turned my grown out lifeless hair into a beautiful sleek cut. I was back in her chair within 8 mins of walking in the door again without an appointment. I always say you get what you pay for so with that being said you will pay more at this salon however you will also walk out feeling like a million bucks. Worth every penny I spent !!! But Barbara, the owner, is extremely kind and knowledgable and Brenda is excellent as well and they've done a great job. Both are obviously very experienced. Very clean salon, staff is nice and friendly, they offer coffee and water while you wait. I had a color and trim. Autumn is very knowledgeable and confident in her work. How did I not know about this salon sooner?? BTS is great. Autumn transformed my hair from a frizzy, lifeless dishwater blonde to the bouncy, pretty blonde I had when I was younger. It is SO natural & gorgeous. Not only are the cut and color EXACTLY what I wanted, my hair is so soft, bouncy, & manageable, most likely from the Olaplex. That was 2 weeks ago! Everyone is very nice; the owner came by & introduced herself & gave a warm welcome. Autumn is AWESOME & affable; I cannot recommend her enough! Prices are about right for a GOOD local salon. Today I went to the beauty shop with my daughter. We both got her hair done. We were there for close to two hours and my daughter was engaged by watching a movie on my cell phone. I had it very low in the first place and asked if it was ok. Which I was told it was ok. It really helped to make sure that my little girl was on her best behavior as she is six. Towards the end of my appointment the manager came over and demeaningly talk to me like I was a five-year-old. Yelling at me to turn it down for a few minutes. Which by the way the first time she said it I immediately took the volume off. Not to mention the fact that she was about 2 feet from me with her finger practically right in my face. All she had to do was to tell me to turn it down. I didn't need to hear explanation, her extremely disrespectful tone of voice, or her body language. After my haircut was completely complete, I talk to her and she denied the whole incident with a fake smile. even though everybody in the entire salon heard it. If she talks to her customers this way, imagine how she treats her staff. not only will I let everybody I know what a bad experience I had, but I feel bad for her employees! read more

Ive been on the hunt for a good salon for a while now since its very difficult to find someone who knows how to cut my hair. I have super thick wavy coarse hair, so I either end up with a horribly choppy layered mess, or a pyramid shape to my hair. But I was desperate since ive become pregnant my hair has been resistant to home dye and It looked a WRECK. So I took a chance given the great reviews and I kid you not I have the best layered cut I have ever had in my life. That's no easy task given my hair texture. I also went in for full foils, but after my consult the stylist decided that it was safer to do a partial given the box dye that was on my hair. I truly appreciated the honesty and that she didn't just say ehh oh well its her hair and roll the dice. It was the most comfortable experience ive ever had in a salon a super homey feel, I was there for 3+ hours (because of how much hair I have) and spent less the 200$ (for shampoo cut blow dry flat iron highlights and a toner) All in all I left 10 times happier about my hair. I wish I would of found them sooner. read more
