Horrible experience. By far the rudest employees I've ever met at a Sephora. Had to stand in line to get help the cashier kept talking and talking to the customer in front of me like I wasn't there. Then the lady that "helped" me was rude. Of course the item was out of stock but said in stock on the app. If it was updated I would have never gone and had such a bad experience. They ruined my whole day. I decided to try perfume instead asked where the one I was looking for was and a different lady this was the third rude employee instead of showing just pointed and said over in that corner. I love this Sephora! It's located just outside of the Spotsylvania mall food court entrance/exit. The staff was really helpful and helped me find the FENTY lipgloss I was looking for. Also, the cashier let me know that I had enough rewards points for a free sample. The store is well stocked, and there are make up artists that are knowledgeable about the products. I would definitely ask them for their recommendations if you're not sure of something. Overall, great experience and will be coming back for my makeup needs! read more

This one star is for the cashier that provided just regular, basic, good customer service. I don't need someone to bend over backwards or go over the top. Just service and kindness. Outside of this one cashier, the other two employees I encountered had some major attitudes. I had placed my Starbucks drink on a slanted display while I looked at some eyeshadows. It stayed put for a while and then fell and spilled on the floor. It was my mistake, but also an honest accident. I apologized to the first employee that came by, and she just ignored me, rolled her eyes, and walked away as she informed someone on her mic. The following employee, just stood there staring at the floor and at me, not saying anything. I said sorry again, and she said "it's okay" with the fakest tone. At this point, while my husband was attempting to help and clean, I was turned off and didn't care because they clearly don't care. I get it; it's annoying to have to clean a mess, but damm. Been here a handful of times and always have had excellent customer service here. This Sephora is never very busy so you can always count on someone greeting you right away and asking if you need help. They don't mind taking a few minutes to show you a new product that they think you might like. Mallory was very sweet and helpful on my last visit and I believe the manager has even helped me a couple times and found me a new product that was in the back and hasn't been displayed yet. It's so refreshing to come to this Sephora as opposed to the Fair Oaks store which is always so crowded you can hardly maneuver through the store and with the salespeople breathing down your back. read more

Great customer service and so many products it could make your head spin. I love that you can try a lot of the products because there's nothing worse than paying $20 for something you end up hating. Personally, I stay away from the eyeliner/mascara and lip stuff because people can be sketchy (let's be honest...) but the rest is great to try out. This location is really nice! read more

Not sure where the idea of customer service was lost, but the service has really declined in this location. Today might have been the worst. Entered the location and no greeting from the staff, the product I was looking for in the color I needed was not in display, so when I looked around for staff, a young lady made eye contact with me and as I opened my mouth to ask for help she turned around and walked away. I just ended up digging in the bottom drawer where the overstock is kept. I dug in there for so long you would think staff would come over to ask if I needed help....but nope. So disappointed in the lack of assistance, I ended up just getting the one product and leaving. I really miss the days where the staff was helpful at this location. read more

I want to make you aware of my experience on December 23, 2016 in the Fredericksburg, VA Sephora location. Written by my wife I entered the store around 8:30 pm with both my husband and daughter (20 years old). My daughter was looking for some items and both she and I looked around the store while my husband patiently waited in the front of the store. While there my daughter ran into a friend she had not seen in a while so they both looked together and I joined my husband. While my daughter was looking and talking to her friend they looked at the Anastasia Beverly Hills display. She was looking at the eye pencil display and also the palettes. She then went to walk to me to show me the palette she was interested in and an employee "Store Manager" approached her and asked if she was purchasing this. She showed her an empty box and my daughter was confused and said no and proceeded to come to me. My daughter then gave me the palette and walked away to continue looking and then the employee approached my daughter again and asked where the palette went that she had. My daughter then realized that this woman thought she was stealing items. She told her I gave it to my mom and she followed her to me. My daughter explained to me that this woman thought that she was stealing and told her that she did not and that she could check her. She had no purse. My daughter then told her to go check the tapes. She also works in retail and knows the procedure. The employee/ Store Manager said she would and left to go into the back. We waited over 10 minutes and in the meantime I asked another person working there to please get me the manager. That employee then moved away from me to use her mic to communicate with her and told me was on her way out. We continued to wait and then the employee came back out and approached me and said: "Can I help you?" I asked to speak to the Manager and she said with a very rude attitude that's me and hit her chest as she told me this. Up until this point, I did not know who she was and then she acted like she had no idea why I was standing there when she clearly had just spoken to me 15 minutes before she left to review the tapes. My husband then asked her what she saw on the tapes and she became very unprofessional. She called over another employee "as a witness" and then told us that "it takes longer than 20 seconds to review the tapes and that there are different angles of the cameras." I asked what she was doing for the last 15 minutes and she repeated the above statement. It was obvious that this situation was not going to be resolved at this time so I asked for her managers phone number and she told me she would give me corporates phone number and I then gave her my name and phone number and asked her to contact me when she had reviewed the tapes and I would like to also review them. I have not yet heard back from her or anyone from Sephora. I am writing because of the following: * The employee/ "store Manager" was unaware that my daughter was with us and accused her of stealing a brow pencil that she never touched and a palette. She did not realize my daughter had given me the palette to hold onto while she shopped. I believe she thought she was some kid in the store to steal and did not realize we were there also because she was shopping while we sat. * The Employee/ "Store Manager" was very unprofessional and did not handle the situation correctly and humiliated my family by accusing my daughter of shoplifting. This all occurred in the middle of a very busy store. Now, I will state that the employee/ "store Manager" never used the word stealing and however when you ask a person if they were purchasing an empty box and tell them you "saw her put the empty box down" and asked her "were the palette she had was" IS SAYING YOU ARE STEALING! * After the employee reviewed the tapes she found my daughter did not take the eyebrow pencil and gave me the palette to hold and she never admitted that she was wrong. She continued to make excuses as to why she did not see my daughter taking the items on the tapes. I understand that all employees need to be vigilant and protect the store from loss however what happened to my family was wrong and should not have happened. The employee was very unprofessional and disrespectful that I left the store without purchasing anything and will not enter that store again. I have no intentions on entering that store or shop at any Sephora store until this is corrected and I will make sure that everyone I know will know how poorly this was handled. We are very upset about the way we were treated and the situation was handled. read more

I love it here. This is by far one of my favorite Sephora locations. The employees are super friendly and they don't badger you into making specific purchases. I love coming here because when I ask for a color match or have questions about any products I can always find someone to ask and they always make me feel like I am a priority. Staff is friendly but there's an air of snobbiness behind it (just a vibe I get) and I just generally don't feel super comfortable shopping there. I asked a worker there, for her opinion on Rihanna's new makeup line & she was more than forthcoming with information and I felt comfortable talking to her. I've been here twice. On my first visit, there were four employees milling about, one customer getting makeup done, and when I asked for help picking out some new makeup I was told they were busy stocking. Um, it's 4:00 on a weekday-customers are shopping. So, I left and they didn't even care to lose the business. Fast forward to six months later, and my usual dry and sensitive skin prone to eczema flare ups has now become all of the above plus some bouts of oiliness curtesy of pregnancy hormones. My mom and I stopped by here with low expectations. I asked if I could get some help, and the young lady said she works the skincare section. Great- I'm looking for skincare! Jillian was amazing. She completely made up for my first negative experience at this location. She knew all about no-no ingredients for pregnant women, and had three different skincare lines to recommend. She took the time to explain what each brand stood for, what they were known for, and how the product would benefit my changing skin. Bonus points for showing me some serums that work great in case I get stretch marks! I didn't feel rushed, and appreciated her taking the time to sample the products on my hands so I could get a feel for what it was like. I ultimately went with the Fresh skincare line, and they even had a gift set so I could try out multiple products before committing. The store is well stocked with beauty and hair products, including samples for you to try (hopefully not on your lips or eyes!) I also liked that the store is nice and large, with plenty of room to move around in. Double bonus points for the ladies taking care of my dad when he came for Christmas shopping for my mom and I. I had friends visiting from out of town and we went there to refresh our beauty supplies only to be met with a manager that didn't want the color artist to spend more than 5 minutes answering our questions and color matching us. So much fun! I went with my 13 yo daughter and we both had a great time. I like their rewards program too and their Sephora line products are good quality. I gave only 4 stars bc sometimes the staff is too much. They have too many people on when there's not a lot of people In the store and then not enough when the store fills up. Also it's a bit pricy. I do love the stations that they have all over with either makeup remover or alcohol but it drives me crazy that they don't sell the remover that they have in the stations nor the easy push applicator bottles. I ordered a set of three bottles on amazon for cheap and they've made all the difference in using makeup remover for me and my daughter. Great location!! read more

First off, I LOOOVE Sephora. However, the customer service at this store in Spotsy can be lacking at times. They never seem to have any samples available, (take home samples,) and i love samples. I have turned around and bought new perfumes, mascaras, and shampoos that i would not have ever tried if it was not for that freebie. When u can squeeze a sample out of them, it takes a team to go squirt a little lotion into a little container. I also find the gentlemen that work there are spot on, while the young ladies, not so much. I can avoid all by shopping at the website, getting samples (!!!)& ship to my home, sometimes for free. I have yet to experience a cosmetics emergency that i cannot wait a couple days. Again, I am a dedicated product fiend that loves this chain, but wishes this particular store picks up the pace. This is my regular go to Sephora store. I would of given this location at least 4 stars, but yesterday my friend and I popped in the store to return an unsatisfying product. It was near closing time and we were greeted by an employee who asked us in a loud intimating voice, "Can I help you?" I cannot remember her name, but she was a full figured lady with tattoos and dark hair. She was drilling my friend with questions about the product she wanted to return. It was bought during the last sale and the woman goes, "We don't do sales." My friend explained to her that it was a sale for VIB/rouge members and the woman just calls over another employee to do the return. While all this was going on I wanted to quickly check out something I was interested in and she saw me looking around for my friend and she yells out, "UM, IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR YOUR FRIEND, SHE IS OUTSIDE." She shooed me out of the store! This woman was extremely impolite and UNPROFESSIONAL. We've spent a ridiculous amount of money here and have come to recognize many of the other employees whom we love chatting with and getting their opinions on the latest products. I think Sephora has a great return policy and employees should abide by the policies of the company that they work for without giving filthy looks. read more

Their selection is smaller than most Sephora's I've been to and customer service is a hit or miss. There are some pretty amazing girls that work there and a few that are distant and annoyed when you need assistance. I would recommend going to Ulta. The Sephora point system is whack and I took my business to Ulta and have never looked back. What a lovely store! I hadn't been to Fredericksburg in years, so I was really surprised to see that in my absence, they'd built a Sephora in the mall. I needed some hair products anyways, so I decided to stop by while I was in the area. Oh my god. I WISH the Sephora's in my area were half as good as this one. The store is spacious and roomy, and you don't have to climb over other girls to check out the latest palette from Too Faced. There is a huge selection of products, with them having almost all the newest items from each brand. The lighting is good, and you won't walk out of the store with foundation and lipstick in shades that looked perfect inside but don't belong anywhere near your face in regular lighting. And the workers, my god, the workers! They balance perfectly between being helpful and letting you do your own thing. I can't tell you how many times I've been to other Sephora stores and had someone hovering behind me, like I'm about to steal something. They're all very sweet women, who are happy to help and happy to give samples if you're not sure if you really like something. I had a fun time browsing and trying new things. I am usually leery of Sephora and similar cosmetics stores, but in frustration at not being able to find a very specific sort of product, went in on a whim. I explained my unique needs and outright said I only wanted mid-priced items, and the sales lady directed me to a wide variety of products that might meet my needs, well within my price range. I mention this because often sales people in such stores immediately try to upsell you and coax me into paying more than I want, but she actually directed me to trial sizes of things that were super affordable, and stood there with me for a long time, describing the ingredients and possible merits of various items. Want great customer service? Try a different Sephora! The Sephora location in Las Vegas is the "bees' knees" and Fredericksburg is "oh, please!" I purchased a compact from this store. A salesperson picked it out for me but it was the wrong color and not usable. I decided to return it and was told that I would has to pay additional money ($14) because the store discontinued the item that I needed to return in spite of it being their brand. I returned everything that I purchased from them that day and also returned everything for which I had a receipt for at home. They lost a customer. read more
