I used this jeweler for repairs many times - but then I had a windfall and wanted a nice piece of jewelry from them to "shop locally." I purchased a $1500 gold bangle bracelet that I loved. Unfortunately, within months, it has just about broken through in a few spots. I took it back to the shop to see if they could send it back to the provider (they had ordered it from one of their catelogs). At that time, they told me it was hollow and what did I expect? They kept it while checking with the original provider - but never contacted me again. I went back in 4 weeks later to be told that there was nothing that could be done. I was shocked that they didn't stand behind their product at all. Nothing was offered. Not a discount on something else, not a partial refund... nothing. They offered to look at my wedding set to check that the diamonds were secure. convinced they needed to have the owner inspect my engagement ring, I left it for him to assess. I was told the diamonds were loose and the invisible setting would require resetting or rebuilding. cost would be several thousand. I could not afford that but was now scared to wear it. I took my Diamond Double Halo cushion cut engagement ring with my wedding band in hopes to get the band resized to a bigger size to get a close match to my engagement ring. I met Rami the owner of the store, and he noticed my engagement ring was smaller than my ring size, he knew I wanted to make my band bigger but he told me he could get both rings to the right size and also noticed my white gold was wearing off! Side note: (my wedding rings were pre-owned) so that made sense, and he gave me a great deal, I couldn't refuse. As I was about to fill out paper work with my info to reach me, his son and Rami noticed a few of my Diamond stones were loose, and he told me could tighten them all as well, and gave me a great price for that, and I accepted. The rings were supposed to take about a week to be done, but I was secretly worried my rings were not going to match as I expected. I got a call 5 days later my rings were ready for pick up. When they showed me the rings together for me to put on, I was in shock of how perfect and sparkly they looked together! I fell in love with my wedding rings all over again, and I couldn't be happier! Rami, did everything he said he would, did the rhodium plating, tightened all my diamonds, cleaned my rings so they could look sparkly and basically left them brand new! I can't express how happily satisfied I am. The service I got from Belle View Jewelers was amazing and they are beyond professional! Would like to give zero star if I can. Went there last week to get the watch band adjustment. My husband got it for me directly from the manufacturer in Switzerland as a surprised gift so the band hasn't been adjusted to my size yet. 1. We called first , the guy said it costs $10. 2. We stopped by the old , arrogant guy (same guy who answered the phone, who I am pretty sure that he is an owner) looked at the watch and asked us the first question " IS THIS A COSTCO SPECIAL?" I said " NO". 3. He adjusted the band , it took 2 minutes total, told us it costed $15 bacause it was hard work. 4. Around 5 mins after we were there, another lady came and asked him to adjusted her ring size. He looked at it and told her " IT IS NOT EVEN A REAL GOLD, WHERE DID YOU GET IT?" and the lady said she got it from her grandmother. I hope she just walked away from this place, you know what, old man, she asked you to "resize" it, not "appraise" it. Give your customers some respect! I usually like to support the local business but this is how the small , local business is going out of business. I will never support this place again. read more

I came in without an appointment and they not only engraved and polished a ring that was my great grandfathers, the gentleman also educated me regarding the watch I was wearing. I brought my ring to this jeweler because the diamond had one of the little brackets bent. He charged me $99 to fix the bracket which was done in about five seconds and he cleaned the ring. He told me all the prongs on my ring had to be redone at a cost of over $600 and to come back the following Monday. While I was on vacation I took it to a jeweler who said the prongs were fine one had a little piece of the top gone that needed to be fixed. When I got back to Alexandria I took it to a third jeweler and asked what he thought he said the same thing that one of the prongs needed to be fixed on top but the rest of the ring was fine. I like to know I can trust a jeweler that I bring my jewelry to, but this jeweler cannot be trusted. read more

I went to get 3 watches fixed from them and paid total of $52.00 a month ago. So a month later one of the watches stopped working again so I took it back. The guy there (older gentleman with an accent and gray hair) looked at it and said it needed a thicker battery next time. He got it to work this time but if it happened again, I would have to pay again for a bigger battery. I don't understand why I would pay for the new battery since as jewelers I expected them to know what kind of battery would be needed in the first place! Went there to get a battery in my Raymond Weil watch. I wanted them to put a brand new battery in my watch, but instead paid approximately $25 for an old battery to get installed. I discovered this when my watch was not keeping time properly after the battery was put in. I took it to another jeweler in McLean and he let me know that an old battery was put in. The jeweler in McLean charged me $15. I hate a dishonest business! Will be taking my business all the way to McLean. read more

I like to support local businesses and I am happy to say that Belle View Jewelers has exceeded my expectations. My husband purchased a beautiful vintage watch for me at Christmas. I loved the style - had to wind it every morning, but it had a real substantive feel to it and a beautiful leather band. Unfortunately the watch had problems. First, it stopped working, then after bringing it in twice, it did not keep accurate time. I decided that I did not want the watch and would rather trade it in for something else. I was worried, because the watch was purchased in December and here it is late March - plus there was no formal warranty. I went in today and told the owner that I did not want the watch anymore because it was not reliable. He made one pass at trying one more time to repair, but he did not push it and then spent time with me to pick out something else. The lady who "helped" me automatically assumed i wanted a charm bracelet and asked me to go look at charms while she helped someone else. I did not mind; however, when she proceeded to assist at least two more customers who came in after me, i walked out. I am patient and understanding, but ignoring my business became insulting.
