Amazing jumbo fried shrimp! I got the side of cheese fries and they were delicious too! Huge portion for the price.

We've eaten from here a couple of times a year for the last ten years and for about 8 of them it's been reliably ok. But over the last couple of years the experience has been getting worse. Horribly overcooked food, missing items, etc. Last night was the worst. We ordered through Grubhub to get delivery cause we were exhausted from the week and hangry. When our food came, it felt light. As usual, the sodas were missing. But when we opened the food, we found that one meal and another extra side were missing. Instead, we had a giant package of fried okra. I hate okra and it's no substitute for, you know, a meal. When I looked at the app, I realized they had just removed an entire meal! No call or text to see if something else might work, no subbing a different meal. Just ... nope, no dinner for you, have the world's most hated vegetable instead. I assume they were out of one of the items in my meal, but that's not the way to handle it. Spouse had a couple of bites of his food while I spent 40 minutes arguing with GrubHub to get a full refund (since more than half our order was missing and, dear god, okra). He said it was disgusting and super overcooked. He heroically tried the okra and it broke him. He never wastes food but this delivery went in the trash. I went to Captain D's (finally, after living nearby for 10 years!) and picked up a surprisingly decent meal, enjoyed good service, and even had a vegetable fit for human consumption. This place knows what the people want. The food is flavorful and plenty. The ambiance will give the perception that it's not inviting, but it's a authentic and real place. Its like a "Mom and Pop" shop, but a store. Me and my spouse ordered the Cod fish,Catfish,Fried shrimp and Lemon pepper wings. Also, got the Strawberry cake that'll remind you of your grandmas baking. The items are a 10 out of 10. Go on a Friday night or a Sunday morning after church and it'll hit the spot. read more

My experience at Belleville Fish and Chicken has always bene good overall. I did learn early on not to order the catfish. It is SWAI (Asian catfish) so if you are looking for American catfish, skip that. But the chicken wings are good as well as their other offerings. They can be a little slow so make sure you order ahead of time if you are someone who grows impatient with the waiting. It does remind me of JJ Fish and Sharks at home in Chicago. read more

The food here is good. I enjoy the fish. However, there is a language barrier, when you order something on the phone to be picked up. You never know if they understood you fully or not. I recently I called to the restaurant. I gave the order to a man he said my number was 30 told me how long it would take for me to pick up the food. Then, when my spouse got to the store to pick up my food, the man didn't know what we were talking about. Over 40 minutes had passed. It was very upsetting. We ended up leaving the store and never ordering or picking up any food. so my advice is go to the store in person and order your food. Never call in an order. read more

if I could give no stars I would Very disappointed walked in with my 3 kids and husband today. we were the only ones there. I asked for a gyro and was told they didn't have any which we were ok with ordering something else. Mind you this is an Arabic speaking family but little did they know I'm also Arab who speaks and understands it. I was very upset when the cook spoke out loud in Arabic I can "hook one up" but the female at the desk was quick to answer No in arabic. On top of it as I was walking out she made smart remarks in Arabic. Terrible customer service for a first time impression! This place has really grown on me. The gyros have gotten better with time. They have a special of 2 gyros, Greek flavored fries, and a soda for 10bucks! I have also tried the falafel. It is good. But not my favorite. But there are not a lot of falafel joints in the metro east. Theirs is a little too dry and too crunchy. Again I come here for the gyros. I truly only come for one reason lol, the chicken wing basket that is only available in Saturday's lol! They make this homemade hot sauce that I can't get enough of! I dream about that hot sauce. My husband and brother typically get the fish from here and everyone is satisfied. The portions are huge and everyone gets what they want. I dared to try this place. I am happy that I did. I had a wonderful gyro that reminded me of my time in Europe. My son had the tilapia, which was actually quite amazing. Don't let the location or the appearance fool you. This is good grub. I agree with the previous reviews: call ahead your order. The wait was worth it though. The appearance and the wait are all that keep me from giving this 5 stars. I'll definitely be back and have already referred this place to my fellow gyro loving coworkers. read more

Been meaning to try this place out for ages now and wish I had sooner. Went here with my partner, he got a gyro, I got a philly cheesesteak. Both came out absolutely delicious and PACKED with toppings! The salt on the fries is amazing, as well. I've been going here for many years and todays experience was not good. From the moment I walked in the smell was not normal and I almost walked back out. Wish I had. First off, the portions are huge. You do get a lot for what you pay. So you can never go wrong with that. We were the only patrons to sit down and enjoy our food, mainly because we were running errands afterwards. Everyone else that came, must have called ahead their orders. Which would explain why they had gotten their food quicker then we did. The boyfriend and I enjoyed a couple of fried dishes, he had the gizzards and I had the catfish. There were leftovers. I think what they could use is a bit more interior decorating. It would definitely draw you and make you feel more comfortable. They have a decent amount of room to work with, so I know something can be done. I do believe we will go back again, even if it is just to get take out. read more

The food we had there was off the chain! I had catfish and wings and my wife had tilapia and wings. The breading had a very unique flavor to it. There was a big delight in every bite. The french fries were excellent. They have a flavorful coating. They are not shy about distributing the condiments (ketchup, tartar sauce, and hot sauce). There were a lot of customers waiting for take-out. They sure do keep the food moving! Will most definitely go there again. Canned soda comes with each entree', but be aware that unless you get water, there are no diet soda choices. Still good though. read more

Nice people but call ahead....average but, cheap, so exactly what you pay for. You can also pick up a belt or some earrings. I've noticed other customers in this city are angry which, is a weird vibe throughout the Landscape. Look tor the BP station on the corner and this little place is tucked behind it in the strip mall. What can you say, everything is deep fried and good! The fish and fixins' are prepared when order so expect a little wait time, but well worth it. We checked out the catfish steaks, chicken planks, chicken gizzards (yes there were more folks than just me), cheesecake and there wasn't a bad bite among it.
