I had a pretty good visit today. I had never tied this fried chicken before. I asked for two regular-fried breasts. The place was quiet and not much was going on. I liked their chicken, but I wish they would have water at the water fountain, like anyone else does. The lady offered to "make" it in the back, but I declined. Gave this place a try and I'm glad we did. The tenders were a little small, but tasty. My husband loved the green beans. I liked the spicy strips and the mashed potatoes and gravy. The biscuits are the same as KFC and those are not my favorite. All in all a good place with nice staff. read more

Is it slow cooked homestyle southern comfort food, nah. It is, however, a nice lil dpin on fast food meets comfort food. It's far better than eating at sny of the burger chains. Chicken is, of course, the focal point. They do a decen job on it too. The coleslaw was standard variety and the macaroni and cheese was ok. I didn't eat the biscuits, tho everyone else at the table seemed to enjoy them. I had chicken liver, it was dropped fresh and was about a 5min wait. The breading was a bit loose with some liver being fully unbreaded. I didn't mind that, since I usually pick post of the breading off. It could be bothersome for others. My husband had the chicken fingers and found them to be on par/ as expected. Was my mind blown, nope. Would I eat here again if I was in a hurry, yup. 3 stars for average / met expectations. The chicken and biscuits are amazing but we will not be back. The last three times we have been there we paid for 16 pieces and only got 12, asked for spicy and got original. When we call to get our pieces we paid for they say we have to bring all the food back with the receipt to fix the order. I find myself writing an unfavorable review for a chain restaurant that makes the very best chicken, and I did love eating here. However, it is the location on 1652 Carlyle Avenue in Belleville that really has NO Customer Service at all. I went to get a simple 10 pcs box of Famous recipe chicken on 18th of Apr (which was a Tuesday). I paid $24.10 for the 10pc with Cole slaw than was asked to move up to wait. Now I should say this was at just a little before 6pm. After waiting for almost 25 minutes one of the staff came out to tell me that they had no "Famous Recipe Breasts" only Spicy, well I'm not a fan of the spicy but I do only prefer white meat chicken so I said if you can through two extra wings (cause my husband usually has a Breast but can not tolerate spicy foods) making this a 12pcs than I will take it. She said ok, went back in and still 10 minutes later she comes out and hands me the bag; I ask is it what we discussed she says yes. I go home, where my husband has been waiting for almost an hour now.... through he bag on the counter and go get my clothes changed wash my hands and come back to sit down to EAT to find out THEY AGAIN screwed up the order. I say this because OFTEN this location gets your order wrong. There were zero Breasts and the two Breasts were replaced with two wings... still only 10 pcs, but now I over paid since I could have gotten 10 pcs Dark cheaper (although I wouldn't have purchased it). So the choice is to go get dressed, get back in the car and take it back (which is the policy of Lee's) Here for me is the Customer Service issue; So I write to the Comments email, and get the usual back from the very unfriendly customer service Director Kate Meyer. Kate says Lee's does not guarantee that the product will be ready at time of ordering, which I didn't complain about the original wait (which is usually 10 - 15 minutes). Then goes on to say, but you were there during the dinner rush.... Well wait a minute if your aware this is the dinner RUSH, then it is there in the description and your managers and staff should be prepared for the RUSH... since serving food is your sole business you would want to get all the food sold during that RUSH. Then wants to mention they had one cook who was trying to keep up on all products, and that is my responsibility why? During the said RUSH should the manager not be staffed and prepared? Then Kate tells me what I physically tasted for myself was wrong... Kate wrote You did receive Famous and Spicy in your box. The supervisor and I looked at the video. I don't care about a video, as I know my mouth was on fire and my husband made fish for himself because he couldn't eat it. Should have been so diligent when filling the order. Then Kate acknowledges this is not my first complaint and tells me.... I told you back in June of last year, you may return the product and receipt when it is convenient for you, if you are not going to eat it. We have no problem replacing or refunding you when our return policy is followed. So spend your money for a dinner and then when we screw the order and they will, this is a regular occurrence and this poorly managed location then it is the customer responsibility to prove it (why not look at your camera) and refund the money not like you're reselling the food and then I can return at my convenience with the receipt. I did ask to speak with her supervisor was told she was on vacation and would call next week..... like with my order STILL WAITING!!! Go to another location, or go to a local place that serves good chicken, but don't waste your time at the one in Belleville with today's prices you should ALWAYS get what you pay for. read more

Ate half for lunch. So good Reheated the other half for dinner. Their chicken CAN be very good....when they get the order right, which is like most places, most of the time. But after waiting in line at the drive through, my wife's order was wrong. We drove a long way to get her a spicy chicken sandwich and they gave her the classic. No big deal, but it's not what we ordered and since we are paying for it and driving there.... etc etc. The problem is when she called to let them know, the employee was having none of that and became very argumentative, telling her he knows PERSONALLY that it was correct. We found this place by accident and we are glad we did. My son and I love fried chicken and we have been looking for a place to get some good ole fried chicken and this was the place. We ordered the 5 piece chicken breast tender meal with mashed potatoes and Cole slaw. The chicken was juicy without being greasy. The mashed potatoes were tasty without being extremely salty and the Cole slaw was fresh and tasty. Overall, this was a great place to get some descent fried chicken. We will be back. read more
