Came in for crab leg night. Very generous portion of crab legs. You also get a choice of sides. I got the peel and eat shrimp and corn. The crab and sides were wonderful! Really enjoyed this meal. I've had a week to digest (ha!) our "Kokomo Joe's Opening Day Experience" and I am sticking with MEH. Now that I've had time to consider the totality of the experience, the name Kokomo Joe's is pretty fitting because just like an island, you're on your own. If you are lucky enough to find food, it will keep you alive but it's nothing to write home about. A commitment to the customer & quality of product just isn't there. I'm dropping my rating from 3 to 2. We were a party of 2. We arrived at noon on opening day and were seated immediately. My friend ordered a frozen mixed drink and I ordered a beer. The First Two Red Flags - I asked the server what her favorite dish on the menu was. She said she hadn't tried anything on the menu. HUH?!?!? Then I asked if the Kokomo Joe's management held an employee "soft open" night to go over dishes, drinks, and procedures and sample the menu offerings. That was also a no. WHAAAAT?!?!? So customers and staff have the exact same command experience with all things Kokomo Joe's? Not good. We ordered 2 appetizers- SW Egg Rolls & Toasted Ravioli. I ordered the Pork Tenderloin Sandwich with potato salad. I also wanted to order 2 BLT Sandwiches & Fries to take home to my Dads. After discussing the best way to go about the take out portion, the server suggested we wait and add the to-go orders onto the ticket later. Cool. No problem. I'll remember. We sat there for appx 50-60 min before receiving an order of SW Egg Rolls. By the time the appetizer (SINGULAR) arrived, we had both finished our drinks. My friend ordered a second, different frozen mixed drink. I went ahead and ordered the two BLT plates to go and stuck with water. About 5 minutes later, we saw what looked to be our order come out of the kitchen and get delivered to the table next to ours. The other diners looked pretty confused about what they received. We didn't make a big deal about it. Honestly, we thought someone would come to the table and fess up/explain the error.....but that never happened. Instead, we overheard back and forth discussion between the server and kitchen trying to figure out what happened. (I lost track of the red flag count by now.) I jokingly made a wager with my girlfriend about the to-go portion of the order being ready before our original order. Well, I should have wagered big, because that is exactly what happened. At 1:15-1:20, more than an hour and 15 minutes into our visit, the two to-go BLT Plates were delivered to our table. When the to-go orders were delivered, the server told us our original order SHOULD be right out. We declined to dine in and politely asked that the original/remaining order be prepared to go. At 1:25-1:30, to-go orders of Ravioli, our 2 entrees, and a mysterious surplus order of SW Egg Rolls were brought to the table. No explanation was ever provided about the food being MIA, but the extra order of egg rolls pretty much solidified our impression that the original order went elsewhere and the entire ticket was re-prepared. The server unceremoniously told us to keep the extra order of SW Egg Rolls. The staff made plenty of "It's our first day" type statements, but nothing specific was ever addressed. I guess I was waiting on a classy-move like the person in charge to visit the table and discuss our experience and/or invite us back in a couple of weeks once they are past their growing pains......Heck, maybe just the classy-move of going to each table and welcoming people to their opening day. The only thing that made me smile during our meal was us laughing about who and how our friends would have toooootally lost their ish over the experience. The total bill was around $75.00. Tipped 20% because the totality of what is (not) going on there cannot be solely attributed to the server. I tried the pork tenderloin sandwich the next day. The flavor was a-la something fried on a bun. I DID NOT try the potato salad because they got the order wrong. Guess that sums up the entire experience. read more

Stopped in at Kokomo Joe's in Uptown Collinsville the other night for dinner. They remodeled this old whole in the wall place into a cute tiki bar. The menu was somewhat small. I had the coconut shrimp, fries and slaw and hubby had the popcorn shrimp and onion tangles. The food was tasty and reasonably priced but would like to see additional sides offered. The service was fast. After ordering, our food was delivered to our table about 10 minutes later. read more

So .. the place is small but has charm.. maybe 5 tables and the outdoor seating consists of two out front on main st., I was hoping to try a couple of their tiki drinks but I believe that consists of slushy in multiple flavors. A concept that is out of the norm for this area but needs to have the goods to back up the concept. The bartender was super cool though...Also the yelp pic (posted by the owner) includes raw oysters on the half shell but that's not available... smh read more

Our burgers were perfect! They were fried to order. Their tea was fresh and perfect to taste. Our bartender was very attentive and nice as well as the other patrons. Will definitely go back. Highly recommended! read more

The decorations were good. Most "Tiki" bars don't have any tiki-themed decor. The staff was really friendly. However, there were no "Tiki Cocktails" and the only rum available was Captain Morgan's and Bacardi. If you like slushies, this is the place for you. read more

Finally had a chance to check out Kokomo Joe's in Collinsville on Main St. For a new spot, they've got it together. The menu isn't huge, but everything we had was fantastic and the service was fast and attentive. We started with char grilled oysters. They were perfectly prepared and topped with a little bit of cheese. The popcorn shrimp in the po boy were great too. Their fry game is on point. And the pork tenderloin was perfection... twice the size of the bun with a crispy coating on a fresh soft bun. The onion tangles on the side were tasty too. I also had the slushie flight and they were all fantastic (you get four samples for about $7 ... it was plenty for me). The only watch out I would give is that seating might get tight if it gets crowded. A party of ten showed up, tried to pull a couple of tables together, got frustrated, and left. Their loss! Anyway, there are about five four-tops, a couple of two-tops, and a nice long bar that seats about ten people. The staff were friendly and fast fast fast. Our food came out quickly and was fresh and hot! I would highly recommend you give them a shot. And it looks like they've got room to add to their slushie offerings. Hats off to a great addition to the Uptown area. The decor is nice too ... it's obvious they put some effort into it. I will definitely be back!!! read more
