Daniel's crew removed 1,100 sqft of carpet and stained/refinished 1,400 square feet of hardwood floor in our new home. They did a great job, and very quickly. They did a fabulous job lacing in new boards when we found a shortage in the master bedroom (part addition), and in the entryway where there used to be tile. You cannot tell that the boards there are not original! And when we found that most of the house is white oak but the kitchen is red oak, they helped us find a stain that would look similar on both. I highly, highly recommend Daniel and his team at Bellevue Floor Service! As a first-time home owner, I wasn't quite sure who to turn to, or what questions to ask, when searching for a flooring expert. Not only was Daniel reliable and timely with his responses, but he was so incredibly easy to work with. His team removed all the carpet in no time, helped me choose out the perfect wood and shade to match the other existing hardwood in the house, and provided suggestions on how to rework the staircase. I was a little unsure on whether to do all wood vs. wood tread with white risers. Per Daniel's suggestion, I went with the wood tread with white risers. It was the less expensive option, and it looks REALLY good! Had he not presented that option, I may have spent more and been less content with the outcome. Daniel and Bellevue Floor Service is without doubt the best wood flooring business in Puget Sound. We have worked with Daniel on two different occasions over 2 1/2 years for our house. We bought our home in November 2015. Our realtor recommended Daniel for resurfacing the floors, so we contacted him. He provided a very fair quote, so we went with him. His work is incredible. In one room, there was carpet over partial hardwood floors (mixed with sheets of plywood). Daniel was able to remove the plywood and match the oak boards. After he was done, we couldn't even tell where he patched in new boards. And the finish has been durable and holding up great to foot traffic. This past summer, we embarked to remodel our kitchen and main entry. We removed tile and wanted to continue the hardwood floors that Daniel re-finished in 2015. He again gave us a great quote. We got on the calendar three months ahead of time. Like clockwork, Daniel followed up and arrived for the appointment for the date we set months ago. Daniel and his crew perfectly laid in more hardwood boards to marry up with the old boards. Incredibly, he was able to sand and stain the new boards only without having to sand and stain his prior work- this saved us a lot of money. And you cannot tell where the old boards meets new boards- he's an incredible craftsman. Besides Daniel, his crew is friendly, skilled and professional. To sum it up, we've worked with Daniel twice now, and we cannot say enough good things about Daniel and his crew. He's installed red oak, tiger wood (not the golfer), Brazilian cherry, and refinished the 120 year old fir floors in our rental house. He learned his trade in the old country (Romania). I'd guess 20+ years ago I requested him to bid red oak at our Seattle home. His bid was not the cheapest nor the most expensive. His bid was fair and honest. We chose him to do the job. He arrived on time, I opened the door and it was just him. I asked where are your helpers? He replied "just me," I work hard. After completing that job I said you're our hardwood floor guy from now on. You can tell a lot about contractors by their tools. BFS have modern tools that work and are sharp. Daniel knew we were building a vacation home in rural Pierce County. One day he phoned me saying his supplier accidentally ordered two cargo containers of tiger wood. He emphasized I can get you a really good price on it. I never thought I'd have such beautiful and "hard" wood in our vacation home. He did every inch of the main floor and upper bedrooms. Daniel did the pantry, closets, hallways & three bedrooms, about 2,200 sq.ft. We've watched his business grow and his family. What started as a DIY project turned into a mini nightmare! After contacting several floor services, all of whom were "weeks out" (our room was emptied and we were living in messy cave of a house), we called Bellevue Floor Service. Although busy, Daniel agreed to come out and take a look. It wasn't a huge job but he recognized our desperation and agreed to do it right away! The hardwood looks great! After a thorough sanding, Daniel came out and put a sample finish on a small area so we could be sure we liked what we saw. Highly recommend this service. They were knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating, and did a tremendous job! read more

Poor service experience and work quality especially after payment. We used Daniel's service to replace our carpet with hardwood flooring for the entire third floor and the stairs for our new construction home. His quote was higher than some others we received, however, we wanted quality and we were willing to pay more (over$2,000 more than the cost of the new builder cost) and in cash. The poor service experience we had came less than a year after installation. The hardwood floor installed by Daniel is squeaking less than a year after. We also spent more money based on Daniel's recommendation of premium pads. As a comparison, the hardwood installed by the builder does not squeak despite having higher traffic and (supposedly) lower grade pads. This tells us about Daniel's work quality. My husband attempted to contact Daniel multiple times to resolve the squeaking issue. After a few email messages of following up for status and patiently waiting to hear back, he finally responded only to say he would stop by if 'he is around the area'. This tells us a lot about how much he cares about quality service and satisfaction after collecting our money. Weeks passed, he emailed my husband and asked if he could come over in an hour to inspect. This is during weekday and during business hours. Both my husband and I couldn't leave work and drive home without any advance notice. So my husband politely asked him to give us at least 2 hours notice and we could try arrange to be home. Weeks passed, we got another email from Daniel at 9:15 am asking if either one of us could be available between 10-11am on that same day. We were glad that he could FINALLY come (or so we thought), so I arranged to be home to accommodate his last minute availability. Hours passed. No show...3 hours passed his expected arrival time, my husband emailed him twice and finally got a response saying that he didn't show up due to an 'emergency'. No apology or further explanation for no show and for wasting my time waiting for him. Daniel arranged another 2 supposed appointments to come to our place and both were no show. Needless to say, if someone you pay so much money for service, you expect better customer service and professional experience. This is clearly poor and unprofessional service. Hope you can avoid the negative experience we have w this place and find someone else to do a better job and care about customer satisfaction. We sure wish we did. read more

I woke up yesterday morning to a leaky dishwasher and some relatively minor resulting floor damage. I called my local insurance company (McLeod Insurance) to discuss possible next steps. Bonnie at McLeod insurance gave me Daniel's number. She had used his flooring service several times over a period of ten years, and very highly recommended him. I called and set up an appointment the next day. He was on time, polite and professional. He told me that he thought, in my case, that my floors were not too damaged and would dry out and settle down over a few months. He said that he didn't think I needed to do anything. I appreciated his honesty. We did discuss prices for possible future refinishing and sealing and they seemed fair and I will certainly use him in the future. read more

Wonderful service :) Daniel and his crew just refinished our white oak hardwood floors and they look and feel amazing. The floors were only a little beat up before, but stained an ugly red. They sanded it down and put on three coats of polyurethane finish. They charged what they quoted for our 1000sqft home, which was reasonable. When they showed up, they sanded a test portion and showed me what the color would be with the plain poly coating and no stain. They said they could stain it if I wanted, but the plain coat was so pretty there was no need. A week later, there's a slight lingering smell, but it's much less than a few days before and will probably dissipate in a week. read more

I first found Daniel at Bellevue Floor Service about 3 years ago when my brother had some of his hardwoods replaced and all of his flooring refinished during a massive renovation. I work for a general contractor and we had some not great experiences with other flooring companies. The previous owners had cheaped out and installed rather hideous prefabricated hardwoods with v-groves and extra shiny honey oak finish. Daniel and team spent extra couple of days to completely sand down the floors and created a custom finish that was not too dark and not too light - just right. Daniel and his crew did a fantastic job refinishing the oak and fir floors in our condo on First Hill in Seattle. The building was built in 1924, so a little worried that the floors could not be sanded and refinished. He pointed out places that would be repaired and areas that they could sand away the paint to expose beautiful fir flooring. Daniel was spectacular! He took my call personally and arrived punctually the next day to assess the floor. Because we had just purchased the house, we knew nothing of the history of how the floor was taken care of previously- only that it looked awful. He assessed the floors, told us how long he thought they would last and that the previous owners probably used the wrong vanish, too quickly and then tried to cover up the mistakes by adding more coats of something. He and his crew arrived the next week to sand and refinish the floors. He was present and monitored the whole project. He even came back 2 or 3 times over the drying process to make sure the final coats went on after everything was dried properly, instead of hurrying up the job. A few days I noticed small spots in the finish . I called Daniel and he came over without any question. (A little back story - we were so hurried to get into the house that I had to schedule the carpet cleaners to come during the last day of the finish drying - a stupid idea thinking back on it) Daniel didn't blame me at all, said he wasn't sure that was the cause but overall wanted to make sure I was happy. When it took a few weeks for us to find a good date, he followed up to make sure he could finish the project. On Monday, he buffed and refinished the floors for us without asking for anything extra. And he is a very kind patent man to boot! So happy with the work! My floors look amazing and hopefully will for a while. If they ever need to be redone, I know who to call =) read more
