I didn't know where to look though so I started buying random groupon facials and after 4 unsuccessful facials I found Shelley. Shelley immediately asked me what I was looking for and gave me feedback on how my skin looked and her best guesses why. By the end of the session, she told me to come in again and bring in all my products I used so she could see which ones are actually good for my skin vs not, which was the exact type of input and expertise I had been searching for. The other spa facials I got did do a bit more pampering, but it was just a blanket facial they give to anyone despite your skin type and needs. It didn't improve my skin (and sometimes even damaged it more). Whereas, Shelley brought the personalized experience to actually improve and achieve my skin goals. If you are looking for an esthetician who will actually work *with* you for your skin goals, Shelley is the person to go for. In 6 months, not only has my acne disappeared, but I also have a full comprehensive skincare regimen based on my skins needs that Shelley built for me. This product is rated very low because of how toxic it is. It's cheap and there's nothing in it that I would have expected by a professional service. Was she correct? 100%. I've read some of the negative reviews for Shelley here, and I totally understand if you're expecting the usual "spa" experience where there's a lot more pampering, she may not be your cup of tea. HOWEVER, if you want to get real serious about your skin and experience the transformation that I've seen in my face in the last 9 months, Shelley's your gal. I appreciate her directness and honesty. And yes, the product suggestions are for YOUR own benefit. Please don't confuse her directness and suggestions as pressure to purchase. I waited a few sessions in, and only when I was near the end of my own supply of products that I decided to give her products a try, but only because she had been using it on my skin since the beginning and I was seeing positive results. I'm constantly asking her what products she's applying to my face (during the facial) and have learned so much about oil vs water based products and what's best for MY skin. I purchased two facials online. I assumed based on the hours listed I would be able to schedule the two facials on my days off (Monday or Saturday) because according to their website they're open on those days. as I went to schedule the facials through their online booking service, I found out they only have very minimal times available Tuesday through Friday from 10 to 4. I thought maybe it was either booked out or a mistake so I wanted to try to call. Between Yelp, their own website, and google maps there are 3 diff numbers listed and NONE of the listed phone numbers are in service. There isn't an email listed to try to resolve my issue and they don't have the message function on Yelp available either. Luckily I was able to cancel my purchase and get my money back. When I think of a spa, I envision a place with a quiet waiting room, soothing music and a space where I can relax. The Bellevue Massage & Spa's new location is not that. Nor do they have a dressing room, let alone their own bathroom, to clean up after your appointment. Yesterday, I went in for a Swedish Massage that I booked online. I was told that I was going to receive a relaxing massage, and while I did relax... the knots that I was hoping would get worked out of my neck and back are still there. It was a bit of a cluster after my appointment to pay (I had an expired Groupon, which should be nothing new or complicated.) and it took three people to figure it out. Similar to other customers, I was not greeted upon entering, not introduced to my esthetician, and the overall feel of customer service was very unprofessional. My facialist was not prepared and would continuously leave the room to gather products. In my previous experiences with facials, the esthetician will massage your face, neck, and shoulders- but at this particular spa, facial massaging was minimal, she didn't even bother to turn on the facial steamer, and basically would put a mask on my face and leave the room for 10-15 minutes at a time (I could hear her talking outside with the receptionist). Then she would come back in the room, apply another mask, and leave again. If I just wanted to wear a facial mask for an hour, I could've done that myself at home. read more

I've been with Shelley for more than a year now. I love her approach - nothing is impossible for her. Any issue is resolvable with right technique (machine) and right set of customized harmful-ingredient-free products. Especially I appreciate that she keeps learning new approaches and improving everything she does. Today my skin is clean, pores are significantly less deep, and almost not oily at all. I have acne (at the age of 31!) and a high stress career and experience frequent breakouts. I've only been a few times but already see a difference. She individualizes the entire process for me and does what really makes sense for my skin...it's not a cookie cutter approach like some places do. She also really cares and has provided me with free samples to try out at home! I bought a facial from them on groupon and could never get a hold of anyone. The details on the deal said call this phone number but they do not return calls. The link to their site from groupon also was broken. I tried to reach out several times over months to contact someone. I tried making an appointment online as indicated on their voicemail message but there was no field for a code or to state that it was for a groupon and already paid for. I will be calling groupon for a refund. But seriously what kind of business doesn't call someone back who has repeatedly left messages. Bad customer service. I went to see Shelley at Bellevue Massage and Spa after receiving a recommendation from a friend. So far I have received two IPL facials and have been really happy with the results. Prior to coming here I was dealing with some terrible postpartum breakouts and was having a hard time healing my skin. After receiving the two facials and strictly using the skin care products Shelley recommended my skin has healed and has looked amazing for the last 4 weeks. It is great to find someone who takes an individualized approach to skin care and can recommend the type of products I need for my skin type. After the treatments, my skin improved overall from uneven color tone. some spots are gone completely, some need further treatments. I have tried IPL and other topical creams, none of them worked. I went for a facial, 60 minute purchase via groupon, and it was a poor experience I felt. As soon as I walked in I wasn't greater/acknowledged right away as the individual at the front desk was on the phone. A few minutes later she asked if I was there for the "groupon facial" and asked for the voucher. I completed the release forms as she asked while she remained on the phone. Shortly after she went to the room where the session will take place to prepare it. Fast forward to session time, bed/table was cold, she was not prepared with her material. The room had no sink, which I assume why she wasted 30% of the session time going in and out of the room to get material/tools . Once the session started, she kept criticizing my skin- which I thought was very normal and fine. She claims my pores were totally clogged and suggested I "buy" xyz from her to help. She also said I had blackheads everywhere -I never even noticed any- and that I should "buy" xyz from her to help. She also said, she can do very little in one session to help me and that I need to come back for more sessions! Overall, the session was stressful and not enjoyable. I felt pressured to also come back and buy more sessions. She showed me pics of current clients with sever skin issues and said my skin will become this damaged if I don't take care of it- WTH! She never mentioned her name until I asked prior to leaving - Shelly- she was the front desk person and the technician as well. I think she might need to hire someone to take care of her phone/front desk. Invest in a different facility where there is a sink in the room the session is taking place , and lastly work on her presentation . read more

I had the best experience! I got a Brazilian from Shelley. She was so nice when I made the appointment and happy to fit me in the day I wanted. This is my third time going to the spa, and now my hair barely grows back because of the anti bacterial wax they use! She did it in a way that did not hurt as much, and the hair was taken by it's root so it lasted longer. I generally have darker hair and it grows quickly, but since I started going it does not grow as quickly or as heavy! I also got a eyebrow wax and it looks great too! I should have written this a month ago. So, I got a groupon for a facial, and I could choose any, but what I needed was not listed in any description on the website. Anyway, I chose deep pore cleansing, and I told Shelley that I also needed extractions, as I have milia. Because of this problem facials are never pleasant for me, I can't fully relax, extractions hurt and the light is too bright for my eyes. However, this was the first place i could actually enjoy the facial. Shelley did it so well. As for the bad reviews, I want to say that I got a blanket, there was a relaxing music similar to music in other spa salons, I got undressed in the room I had facial, and I could use the bathroom after it. I've been going to Shelley for massages for the past few years now. Shelley is an excellent masseuse and I like her as well for the following:1.She keeps the appointment time. If I book for 60 minutes massage, I can count on Shelley for giving me 60 minutes massage when I book an hour massage, not 50 minutes like some famous massage chain. At occasions she even gives me extra time, if she happens to have time gap until the next appointment. 2.She works on providing good service. One time her admin messed up her calendar and I ended up going to her spa for a massage appointment that never showed up in her calendar, despite my receiving email confirmation for it. I had a facial with Shelley and nearly ran out the door halfway through it. I'm on the table, and she turns the facial lights on. She says my face is red and asks "what is that?" I have olive skin and rarely get redness, so I say "I don't know, but it's 80 degrees outside, I might just be flushed from the heat and my morning run." Earlier she had asked me what my skin concerns were. I say I have oily skin and therefore some clogged pores on my nose and chin. Halfway through the facial, she wipes off the masque and examines my nose and chin and says: "Blackheads! Oh my, my my" in this scolding tone. During the entire facial she's peppering me with questions in that same scolding tone. (I just want to relax after a crazy work week.) She asks about my skincare routine. I say I use prescription Retin A, mineral sunscreens, and -- she cuts me off to proclaim that Retin A is bad for the skin, despite the fact that dermatologists, doctors, and aestheticians have been recommending it for years, calling it the "gold standard" in anti-aging. She says instead I should do some "needling" procedure instead and buy some collagen products from her. Sure I bet that's all great and it's also very expensive. She keeps going at me for using Retin A for the rest of the facial. I don't respond. At one point when she leaves the room. I fantasize about getting up and running out. After she slathers on what feels like another masque, she says, I'm done. But there's this heavy layer of white stuff on my face! I can see it in the mirror. I leave with my face feeling like an oil slick (and getting one more jab about using Retin A). In my car, I wipe the gunk off, apply my mineral sunscreen, and hightail it out of the parking lot. The least relaxing spa treatment I have EVER had. Ugh! read more
