I came here as a first timer for the Massage + Facial package after searching for local small business spas in my area. The staff is very communicative when it comes to scheduling and educating on types of appointments either through phone call, text or in person. My appointment was late in the evening and I was grateful that none of my services felt rushed or lacking even though I'm pretty sure I was the last one of the day. My massage therapist was able to lull me to sleep with her fluid and varying pressures. I believe Jen was my esthetician and she helped me figure out what the best service would fit my facial needs, especially since it's been years since I got my last facial with someone. Jennifer is amazing! She's very knowledgeable about products for sensitive people like me. I got a facial and left with soft glowing skin. The robe and slippers were nice touches that made me feel very comfortable and at home. The bed was kept at a warm temperature. The whole place is very clean and tidy. She also did a scalp massage and listened to my problems regarding dry scalp. She's gone above and beyond into researching which shampoos I can use to alleviate my condition. Happy to have found this salon spa on ClassPass! I booked a facial and arrived ~10 minutes before my appointment to fill out some paperwork. In the business complex, the spa is located on the first floor of the business park. Anna was amazing with my facial. She asked about what I was currently using and what type of skin I had. I highly recommend calling and making an appointment specifically with her, because she knows how to give you the most thorough massage for your money! She is super friendly, experienced, and knows exactly what she's doing. I really wanted to enjoy this place but unfortunately my time there turned into a fiasco. I purchased a Groupon for a facial and massage and was able to book an appointment easily over the phone. I took the time to drive out to Bellevue for my spa day (which I was very much looking forward to) and when I showed, I was told my massage therapist was running slightly behind and that I'd be getting my facial first. Of course that wasn't a problem and I proceeded to receive a fabulous facial. However that's when the real trouble happened. After the facial was finished, I was informed that the massage therapist was a no-show to my booked appointment. Since it was a Groupon and I had already purchased the services, I was told I could rebook the massage for another day/time or receive a different service but that I'd have to book that on a separate day as well. By that time, I was already slightly frustrated about what had transpired and was disappointed as the massage is what I was looking forward to most. Finding massage therapists who really listen to what you want them to focus on, and can find the sweet spot for pressure (hard enough to be effective, but not so hard that you feel like you got beaten up after) is really hard. I've had 2 massages here with different therapists, and both of them nailed it. The prices are also super reasonable, which makes the relaxing spa ambiance a really pleasant surprise. Sometimes it is fun to try out new companies by using Groupon. It can be a inexpensive way to see if the place is worthwhile. In this instance, this is my first time at Herban spa and I used a Groupon. I was incredibly happy when I left. When booking a service there are multiple add-ons you can choose from for a fee. The atmosphere was relaxing and Layla, my masseuse was wonderful! She used a combination of hot stones and pressure from her body weight which was very relaxing After my hour was up, I swore i was in the room longer. I had my eyelashes done using a Groupon. I had never been to HTS before, but I will be returning! It was a relaxing atmosphere, and the woman who did my lashes is great at what she does! I've been going to this spa for years and it's been amazing even with two different owners. Today I went in for a facial and a 90 min massage with Anna. I had only gotten one facial there under the new owner but e to get lash extensions all the time. I wasn't sure what to expect wearing a mask getting a massage but this single mama was desperate for some R&R. I literally didn't even notice wearing a mask during my massage and my facial was hands down the best one I ever had! We had a terrific 60 minutes couple's massage at Herban Spa. We recommend for a romantic surprise and deep tissue massage. My tip for people getting any massage is to always is to be vocal about adjusting to your level of comfort. We enjoyed the massage but left confused. The "relaxation" massage was not relaxing lol! For the first 20 minutes they were twisting and kneading my back super fast, dropping the towel on my back and it was far from relaxing lol. Loved the rest of the massage, they definitely know what they're doing, they got all of our pain points and knots out! I just had to ask my massage therapist to slow down. They should consider renaming the massage. Pressure, technique, stretches and face massage were amazing. They really focus on your pain points and customize the massage towards it. The venue, music, and decor were inviting. There is some improvements that can be made for it to become a premier massage spa. That is in the transitions of service and communication is the only thing that separates them from a 5star spa. read more

I bought the mink full set from Groupon. I arrived an hour earlier since I had never been here before and was fully expecting to wait the hour, I figured as much but surprisingly Rachel was able to take me 30 minutes earlier which was awesome. Rachel is a super sweet Korean lady, it just takes a second to get used to her thick accent. I had some lash extensions from a previous business so I wasn't completely bare, but Rachel was able to finish in FORTY MINUTES. It still blows my mind how fast she was and how amazing my lashes look. She did it at a 1:1 and my lashes are so full. So I was pretty skeptic after leaving about my retention rate, but it's been a few days and so far it's been pretty good. The music that played in the background was so soothing I knocked right out. In regards to Samantha C's review below. I happened to be in the spa when you came in. Samantha, you were so loud - I could hear you yelling through the walls. You yelled at my masseuse, who went to help you and doesn't manage the bookings (if you would have let her talk - she would have been able to explain this), for probably over 5 minutes!! Holy shizz... this place was such an amazing surprise. Booking by phone was easy. Parking was easy. Finding it was easy, but required some quick thinking to determine which turn was the office park (note- it's on the corner) When I walked in I was so surprised by all the cute make-up and bath products. We were a crazy 45min early, but they were calm about it. We got a nice warm foot soak. Relaxed in the low lighting, faux fireplace, and dined on mini chocolate cupcakes. Hubby and I went in for our couples massage. WOW. music was really nice (a little on the louder side... I didn't mind it at all, just of note). bed was heated. everything was so freaking fluffy and soft. you aren't covered with a blanket or sheet-- it's a full on comforter. DO NOT GO WHEN YOU ARE SLEEPY hahaha. I fell asleep several times. My husband told me I was snoring. I had checked in on Yelp and got $10 off! Had the worst massage experience of my life here. Their massage therapist had some very questionable practices that made me feel extremely exposed and vulnerable. I was only covered with a thin sheet. She very clearly didn't understand body mechanics and how to locate root issue of tensions in the body - she just randomly pushed down hard on various points. She didn't massage both sides of my body evenly. I have a really high pain tolerance when it comes to massage, but hers was painful, in not the good way. At one point, my sheet was falling off my chest and she was reaching under my blanket to massage my arms, and did nothing to correct the issue. She also reached into the back of my underwear to massage my butt, which was a pretty stunning violation. I spoke to the shop, who refunded the costs, and said they might fire her. Never heard anything again, but thought it would be worth putting out there in case they haven't. I've never felt so violated during a professional massage in my life. I left angry, near tears, and shaking. Please inquire before you get a massage here if the therapist has had any complaints. read more

Received a gift card for a deep foot massage from my wife for Christmas. Seven hours after receiving the massage my feet still feel a warm glow. Skin and nails are smooth and deeply clean. Jennifer did a great job. During the service I just relaxed and read an ebook. Both my wife and I thought this would mainly be a pedicure, but the service provided went well beyond that. It took about 50 minutes, after a 10 minute foot soak in hot water. Note that since this is not a pedicure, nail trimming is NOT part of the service. A 10 minute upper body massage is included (but I skipped that as I am not a big massage fan). Herban has (to me) a strong feminine ambiance, with soft music and candles. read more

Herban Therapies was nice enough to offer me a complimentary facial (this time their sensitive skin one) after my bad reaction with the first facial. They have since moved location and are now located amongst various medical practices. I arrived on a weekend and the building was deserted - there aren't visible signs of herban therapies' location so you do have to go by their suite number. This is a boutique spa so don't expect a shower, sauna, etc - the place is small and cozy. The sensitive skin facial was very relaxing and afterwards they even offered me a cell number that I can reach them at in case I had an adverse reaction to the facial since they were closed the next day! Talk about vip service! Luckily this facial resulted in no bad reaction, just a little redness but nothing like what had happened before! I'm a believer in facials again! read more

I came in for a full set of mink eyelash extension that I have purchased from groupon. The spa and the experience overall was pleasant. The reason why I'm giving only 2 stars is because after only one week of careful maintenance, the lash on my right side pretty much only has 2-3 lashes left. My eyes look so uneven now. Thinking back about the process, the person definitely rushed my right side since I had a later appointment in the day. So you can give this place a try if you want uneven lashes after one week. Located in an office building, so on a Sunday, the parking lot was completely empty. Another car only came by as we were leaving. Having said that, plenty of parking here, haha. My first thought when I walked in was that it was cluttered. Not in a bad way, but every wall, nook, or available space was covered with something -- baby clothes and shoes, make-up, skin and hair care products, or just artsy stuff like their silver bicycle on display. It looked more like a boutique, quirky store than a spa check out area. Usually, it's more spacious and open, or at the very least, simple to give off a tranquil vibe. It was a little jarring to the senses. Overall, the entire spa is small. But further in, it looks so cozy. It's very dark lighting, and the walls are dark as well. The area with the waiting chairs had a lot of surrounding stuff on shelves -- selling socks, towels, salts. The bathroom was big and had that soothing dark lighting also. It was so clean, with nice towels to dry your hands -- a clean spa bathroom is a must for me! I noticed on some of the other Yelp reviews they mention extras like a foot soak -- we weren't offered that. Or any snacks, other than tea or water. Not sure if they were pressed for time, because as soon as the couple before us left, they were busy preparing the room. None of this is a deal breaker though. We come for the massages! The couples massage room was big as well -- love the writings on the wall that almost mimic a brick look, faux fireplace, and the two hanging wall mirrors. nice little unique touches. The massage table/bed was warm, and the blankets were thick and heavy. It wasn't a thin sheet, but something strong, akin to a comforter. Perfect for the cold, gray, drizzly Seattle day. As for the massage itself, while the girls were sweet, and asked us how the pressure was, I didn't find anything particularly special or unique about them. It seemed as if they were really following a specific formula, as I noticed they did everything for me and my husband at the same time. And that's OK, but then I wondered why they even ask you to fill out those forms asking about specific areas, or even discussed it with us prior to the massage. My husband really enjoyed his massage though. And so did I - I felt relaxed and warm and dozy. Just noticing that, at least my masseuse, didn't focus on the areas I specifically requested. Booked online, and was very easy to do so! Kind of easy to shoot past the entrance of their parking lot, but if you miss it, it's easy to turn into another lot and double back. This was my go to spot for literally the best massage and service I have ever received.. but they changed ownership and it's not the same as it was. The new owner is turning it into more of a holistic spa than a relaxing boutique spa and their style of "massage" is far from the relaxing massages I received from Jessica for years (can someone tell me where Jessica went)?! I booked a couples hot stone massage which we've gotten many times and the massage I received this time was far from relaxing. I get that since it's a holistic spa now they're trying to get all your pressure points and what not but I wish I knew about their style before I booked. The room has changed a bit and the massage table is not as luxurious as previous but again it's all new! I had issues with their online booking system which charged my card 3 different times and once I noticed the charge I did call and the person I spoke to was extremely apologetic and had no clue why/how that happened. After a few phone calls and follow-ups and speaking to the manager the problem was resolved which was good. Needless to say I don't think I'd be back again - unless Jessica comes back!! read more

I am from Toronto Canada and was in Issaquah visiting my daughter last week. We had a mother/daughter spa day which started at Herban Therapies for a full body massage and facial for each of us. We actually booked the couples room to share the experiences. Hands down THE BEST massage and THE BEST facial I have ever had. The room was pretty and soothing and the ladies were lovely, welcoming and great at their crafts. Just got back from the massage with HTS and have couple comments: 1) they had warm towels but didn't put them onto my arms/legs. Last time they've done so. I felt quite cold after 80 min in the room. 2) I've been dressing up and found their floors are quite dirty. 3) they didn't dim the light 4) main thing: I've booked two things - signature massage for 1.5 hours ($130) and scalp massage for 10 min ($30). I guess total time should be 100 min. Apparently whole procedure took exactly 1.5 hours, however they charged full prices for both scalp and signature. Overall quality of the massage is good, therefore 3 stars, however in my eyes they lost spa atmosphere and billing issue really freaks me out. read more

Had one of the best facials ever with Anna. My 54 year old skin was glowing. Their specials are awesome and so much more affordable than my old spa. While you don't get the same experience as a large spa with relaxation rooms, I would much rather give my business to a smaller spa that still provides an excellent service. Booked a massage about 1 month ago. Massage itself was decent, no true complaints about it. However, my main issue was with my Spa Week gift card ($50) getting declined by the staff. Essentially, I had booked the massage with the intent of using the gift card since I don't like to spend that much money on these sorts of self-care activities. I had texted the number posted on their website to confirm that they still accepted these gift cards since I don't have the means to pay full price. They responded "Yes, we accept." So I booked my massage, and upon paying and showing my gift card, my masseuse said that they no longer take that form of payment. I told her that I even texted ahead of time to confirm that this payment was accepted, and Maelynn (masseuse) said that she didn't even know how to process the gift card on her end. I was very disappointed, and she said I could email the store manager. I emailed a couple weeks after around Christmas time, to which I have still not gotten a response (even after a follow up email). It is very disappointing because the massage itself wasn't terrible, but it is the customer service that has left a negative impact on me as it is a privilege to be able to do these sorts of things. I came here from a 3 Swedish massage Groupon. The place is easy to find, and has many parking spots. The suite is modern and pretty, and the staff is super friendly. My first massage was with Micaiah (who doesn't work there anymore). She was friendly, but I didn't like her massage at all. I didn't feel relaxed at the end, and it was her 3rd day on the job. She did put hot towels on my feet in the beginning, which was nice, but then the way she massaged was super awkward. She did this move where it seemed she was trying to apply friction to my arms and legs. It was just...weird. Also, the bed I was on was leather, but it wasn't covered properly, so everytime I shifted, I could hear an almost rubbery sound, which did not help. Later, I told my sister to avoid seeing Micaiah cause it was just a bad experience. I contacted the office for my second appointment, and told them about the not relaxing massage from Micaiah, and they told me she doesn't work there anymore. They offered to comp that massage, so I got 3 more massages! I just had my first massage with Helen, who was super nice. The massage was better than before, but not super relaxing. I think the moves that she used wasn't what I was used to. There were these candles on the other bed, which helped with the ambiance. I know they are in the process of hiring new masseuses, so I may try to wait a bit. ON another note, when I was tipping, I asked how much the normal massages cost, and I was told $100, so I tipped according to that, but then I just went on their website, and it's actually $85... so deceiving.. read more

I bought a Groupon here for lash extensions and after making an appointment a week in advance, having to work around my busy schedule I showed up promptly for my appointment. When I walked up to the door of the spa, there was a closed sign. I tried calling to see if anyone was there but just heard the phone ring from the outside. After leaving an angry, questioning message, I walked out and checked my email which I found to have one from the spa saying my appointment would be cancelled because of a power outage in the building. I was confused for a couple of reasons; the other businesses in the buildings were still open, I heard the phone ring inside the spa (power outage?) and I wondered why they did not call me or leave a message to tell me my appointment would be cancelled as most people wouldn't think to check their email to see if their appointment is still on. When the spa received my message, they called me back saying they'd tried to call me to tell me they'd have to cancel my appointment but I'd had no missed calls and no messages? I have not yet called back to schedule a new appointment but I know I'll have to eventually to get my money's worth out of the groupon I've already purchased :-( Very disappointing considering I live about 30 minutes away. But I went for the upgrade for $15 more. My session was actually nice, relaxing, Rachael seemed great. It took just 50 minutes which made me nervous because I read their reviews before going in. I'd hoped they weren't true. My lashes looked AMAZING when I was done. I mean, prettier than I've ever seen. BUT, as soon as I got home I started seeing them drop out. Within 5-7 days I had sparse spots. I don't have alot of time to drive all the way back to Bellevue from Lynnwood so when I called in to ask about a fill as well as the special on the card that they gave me, their email responses were very short , not helpful at all so I don't expect any accountability for the fact that they're selling some pretty shoddy work. Wow! What a great experience! I called to see if they had any cancellations for a Friday afternoon, the lady who answered the phone was great, and got me in for a quick 30 minute massage. After arriving 15 minutes early, I was pleased to find the music was not annoying, the smell was not overpowering, and the forms were short, but asked for all the relevant information. (A trip to the spa should not be reminiscent of a 1040 form, or a trip to the DMV.) Most importantly, it was a great massage. Vera is very skilled therapist, and I look forward to more wonderful experiences at this spa. Oh my gosh!!! I almost forgot the most important part! Hiding in one of the many posh high-rise condo buildings in downtown Bellevue, walking through Herban Therapies' door was a welcome (and welcoming) experience. It's tiny, but not a bad way; it feels homey and relaxing before you even have a chance to sit down. Subdued music is always playing, and the air is nicely humid. We visited Herban for a couples massage. The massage room was cozy and dimly lit, and the beds were extremely comfortable and warm. I took my boyfriend here for Valentine's Day, and it was truly a wonderful experience. Just to keep it plain and simple, everyone was super helpful, the place is decorated very nicely, and the services were superb. Another nice touch - we were served sparkling cider, chocolate covered strawberries, cookies, and chocolates while we waited and had our feet soaked. oh - and we both received long stem roses on our way out, as well as bath salts :) I had originally scheduled an appointment for a couples package for massages and facials, but we got a call from the owner and were offered a mud wrap (which actually cost more) instead of the facial due to a family emergency with one of the staff, and she was nice enough to still honor the original price I was going to pay for the facial.
