Terrible understaffed office. The dentist and hygienist wanted me to return for unnecessary treatments. My insurance denied my medical claim because, although the office in network, the dentist I was booked with is not. I had to pay $500 for a cleaning, X-rays and brief check with the dentist. I gave my insurance information at the time of booking and they booked me with a dentist that my plan doesn't cover. I will Never return to this unprofessional, money motivated dental office! read more

As many others have reviewed, I experienced the same issue of getting charged by insurance after a regular check-up visit. The office did not bother to check whether my insurance covered x-rays and took them. When asked why they did not ask, they gave an excuse that it's the patient's responsibility to know which x-rays my insurance covers. Also, I was there for three cleaning visits. When Dr. Yu is busy with other clients, she does not come and check on you, even at the end. Only the hygienist is there to work with you from the start until the end. Not going back. read more

Overlake Dental-Dr. Yu Practice limited to money-Yours. We picked Overlake because we lived close to the office but should have checked Dr. Yu's credentials first. We found her credentials wanting. Her work has to be re-done & of course insurance won't cover it. We will scrutinize the credentials of any future dentist. Washington State Dental Assoc-is a waste of time. We found reports of dentists that should have had their license revoked-never found one. Nor did we find a dentist that had been put on notice. read more

Been here for a couple of different appointments, both of which I have been putting off for a long time. I hadn't been to the dentist in several years, so I knew th damage was going to be bad in terms of the level of cleaning I would need to have done. Additionally, one of my front teeth had been severely damaged to the point that that I needed to have a root canal done about 13 years ago. At the time, my former dentist simply out whitening inside my tooth and didn't recommend a partial crown. Ever since then, my tooth has been gradually darkening Soni knew something needed to be done. Not surprisingly, Dr Lee recommended a partial crown. As for the cleaning itself, I can honestly say it was the most gentle cleaning I have ever had in my life, despite the buildup of several years of not cleaning. The hygienists and Dr. Lee were extremely thorough and took the time to explain the health of my gums (surprisingly good considering the length of time between dentist visits) and the health of my teeth (which unsurprisingly needed to have a handful of fillings). I was so pleased with the cleaning, I will definitely be coming back. They had someone sit with me to go over billing before the fillings and crown were installed. This person went over my insurance benefits, what was covered and what wasn't, and to what extent I would need to pay out of pocket. Very transparent and before-the-fact, which is a rare trait to come by these days in the medical profession. As for the follow up appointment to get the fillings and crown done, again, I was extremely pleased. Due to the somewhat extenaive work involved, it was a little more invasive but still very reassuring to be in their hands. They painstakingly took every measure to ensure not only my comfort, but also to ensure that my fillings and crown were as perfect of a fit to my mouth as humanly possible. They took a great deal of time going back over the details again and again to make sure they got it right, which was fantastic. I'm so happy to be current again on my dental hygiene/checkups, and thrilled to be pleased with my smile again. I will be coming here for years to come, and strongly recommend to anyone and everyone. read more

My wife went for cleaning and they charged her insurance incorrectly. She didn't receive the full service and was still charged for the full service. She is now following with insurance and Bellevue overlake. Bellevue overlake has been extremely incorpoative in correcting the claim or even returning the calls. It's been weeks now and it's still going on. Recently she got a call from the owner (Monica Yu) and she mentioned that she recently bought the clinic from previous owner and she isn't responsible for whatever happened in the past. This is completely irresponsible behavior from their side.Please beware of insurance fraud. read more

Dr. Lee is awesome! I made an appointment here to get my teeth cleaned and get about 6 fillings done. I'm really that bad client that is really sensitive and afraid to go to the dentist but hey, this experience was awesome, in not afraid to go to the dentist anymore, thanks to Dr. Lee and his assistant, not saying that he saved 2 of my teeth from a root canal ! Now I'm happy that I can smile and eat without feeling uncomfortable! I'm forever thankful for his work, no pain after and I didn't even had to go for an adjustment because he did everything perfect!!!!!!! I went there for teeth cleaning last year and they did regular cleaning on half side of my mouth in my first appointment.I felt that cleaning wasn't good so I never went for my 2nd appointment on other side. These guys had wrongly charged my insurance company for full mouth debridement(D4355) instead of regular cleaning on half side. This procedure(D4355) can only be done once in 3 years. I didn't know about all this and I came to know about it only recently when I visited another dentist office and they did actual full mouth debridement on my mouth and my insurance claim was rejected because Overlake Dental had wrongly charged my insurance. What a creative way to earn money and fool people. I doubt that most of their good reviews here are fake too. Wouldn't recommend this place at all for any dental procedure. read more

I accompanied my boyfriend here for a procedure in which they removed some of his teeth to put a denture in place, THINKING they'd at least put him under or sedate him because they were supposed to! The dental assistant thought they had given him a perscription for this procedure to take the night before and the day of, but they didn't!! They crushed up one valium and rubbed it in his gum lines and said he'd be fine! They proceeded to pull his WHOLE top row of teeth WITHOUT sedation! He flinched in pain and verbally expressed his pain. They just stopped the procedure for awhile, while Dr. Lee went and attended other patients, then continued a few minutes later. After the whole procedure, my boyfriend, frustrated with pain, expressed that there denture doesn't fit right. Dr. Lee asked if he was good with tools, and told my boyfriend he could use a dremel to chisel at the denture himself to make it comfortable! THAT'S THE DENTIST'S JOB!! The denture never fit. They ground all the front teeth of the denture flat, THEN told him that they are not equipped to deal with dentures! Now he is stuck with a denture inwhich he can't even bite into a burger! And the dental office hasn't even tried to schedule a follow up appointment. They now expect him to go to an actual denturist that they recommended which they should have done in the first place. Now on top of what he has already paid has to pay more to get what he was led to believe he was getting. He just wants a decent smile and to be able to bite into the food he loves to eat. If they were not equipped to deal with dentures they should have sent him to the right person for the job and instead my boyfriend was misled and treated like a paycheck instead of a patient read more

Every step of my procedure was fully explained and I never felt rushed into anything. They really connect with you on a personal level and make you feel right at home. I recently moved to Bellevue from Las Vegas and Dr. Lee has already shown me the level of professionalism and care I never received before. I came to his office learning that I needed a root canal. He referred me to an incredible doctor that did my root canal. After my root canal, I returned to Dr. Lee for my crown. He did a spectacular job and took his time to perfect the procedure. I think he is one of the sweetest doctors I've ever had. His staff is super friendly and very accommodating. I also brought my 2 year old son to Dr. Lee and he loved him. I scheduled dental appointments for my husband and I (mine was scheduled a couple of days before his since they were unable to fit us in on the same day). I took the day off from school (I'm a teacher), prioritized a sick day, and when I arrived at my appointment, I was surprised to find an empty, locked office. There was not a soul inside. Apparently, they do not keep regular hours according to one of the offices located next door. I have left messages to try and contact the office but my calls have yet to be returned. I'm in dismay at the extreme unprofessionalism of Overlake Family Dental and would never consider being a regular patient. If I could, I would give this dental office 0 out of 5 stars. read more

I would give this place negative 100000 stars if I could. This place ruined my mom's teeth and her self esteem. My mom, brother, and I came here for years, the treatment was great and the previous owner and staff were awesome. Things took a turn when Dr. Le took over. His wife did a dental cleaning for me and kept hurting me and telling me how much I need to floss. When I expressed her the pain she was causing she told me I wouldn't be in pain if I'd floss more. I literally was in shock of how I was being treated after so many years of good service there. That was nothing compared to what was to happen. So my brother & mom ended up getting braces through Dr. Lee he recommended they both get them (hes a dentist not orthodontist, red flag right there) but my mom needed them and she got them for a good price. Flash forward my mom got her braces taken off, she notices she had a weird particularly huge overbite and was not happy. When she expressed her concerns to Dr. lee he stated it was because my mother needed to get a few teeth pulled, my mom did not understand why she needed teeth pulled and how he waited to tell her. So she thought she would have to live like this and there was really nothing she could do. She then had a few teeth cleanings at another place her referred her to a periodontist specialist. My mom also saw a orthodontist. Multiple dentist, orthodontist, and periodontist have all told my mother she should have never got braces with how bad her periodontal disease was. Basically her getting braces messed up her alignment for her teeth and risked them all falling out. I then contacted the state department of heath and they took actions out against Dr. lee. She now suffers with an ugly smile, worse then what she had before and is now so self conscious that she has to live life like this. Not only was Dr. Lee's wife unprofessional, but Dr. Lee just sought out for my mom's money w/o taking the precautions he was suppose to. He knew my mom's condition and how bad her periodontal disease was and still proceeded to put braces on my mom's teeth to make matters worse for the sake of making a quick buck. RUN FOR THE HILLS AND DO NOT COME HERE. read more

My whole family comes here and we are really happy with them. Dr. Lee does really good job and really gentle and careful on treatment. Also, Dr. Prasanna is really good with kids. My son kept asking me to go to see her. Also, their stuff are really friendly and nice to kids which I love about. Honestly, bring the kids to dr. Wow apparently that Ben guy has way worse issues than a dentist he needs to address. Overlake family dental is awesome! I drive from Tacoma for their professional, clean and friendly service. I've been a patient for over 3 years and will continue going. Though my Insurance is welcomed there, the rates are 10 times cheaper than other dentists who honor my insurance. Can't say enough about the staff and expertise there, thank you to the whole office!!!!! Oh and one last side note to that d bag Ben, lay one finger or one foul word to Dr. Kim and I will keep my eyes open for you. Ok, 5 stars for a dentist office is a little bizarre, especially coming from me. Just like everyone else, I DREAD the dentist. I hate everything about it. I mean no offense to the dentist but its just not where I want to be....like EVER. However, I HAD to get my wisdom teeth removed and there was no getting around it. My family members have been coming here for quite some time now and they say nothing but great things about it. I've visited a few dental offices and gotten price quotes for wisdom extraction but never wanted to make an appointment due to vibes and ambiance and of course price points. After setting up a consultation here at Overlake Dental, I decided to go through with it and set my appointment. The staff here at Overlake are so warm and welcoming. Alex was beyond patient with me. Especially when I had questions about oral sedation and nitrous and going back and forth between the two. For someone who had serious anxiety, and asking a million and one questions, Alex remained calm, cool, and collected with me. She was always kind and eager to help. Dr. Lee was as gentle as a dentist pulling teeth can be. Lol. But he was very knowledgeable and its obvious he cares about his patients. I love love love this place. So i will tell u my story in brief. last year i went to a popular dental clinic in the bellevue down town. that was the worst decision i made in my life. i just went for a regular check up. And the doctor said that i have a few cavities to be filled and it will be better to remove the crown i already and check whether the teeth underneath it fine or not. i let him do that. Later he said that the teeth cannot be saved and i will have to extract the teeth instead. i asked them if they can replace the crown because i didnt want to take my teeth off. they said extracting it is the only option :( they didnt even placed a temporary crown.i left there with one teeth less. And the billed me hundreds of dollars after everything they did to me.they are not at all professional and they do not care about their patients. i was very much desperate. then i contacted Overlake dental. Dr Lee did a check up . he said there was problem with the root but it can be fixed and he crowned that teeth again:) their bill was way too cheaper than the other clinic. Actually its not about the money, the way that they deal with their patients is awesome.the staffs are very friendly. i am a person who dreads to go to a dentist. but this place is not at all scary. i will definitely recommend this place.
