Bellevue Dental Care is awesome. My wife and I have been patients at Bellevue Dental Care for more than 3 years now. Dr. H is great and very thorough, however he doesn't give me much advice cause I'm the perfect dental patient. The rest of the staff is just as awesome. Generally, going to any Doctor can be unpleasant but the staff is awesome at making their patients feel comfortable. One of the coolest features is in the waiting room they have a tv that is showing tropical islands and beautiful destinations. This most recent time was video footage from a helicopter in Hawaii. Sitting there had me dreaming of going back to Hawaii. read more

I couldn't recommend this place less! I found them through my insurance and thought they'd be a good choice but wow I thought wrong. Last time I came, they told me they'd book me for 6 months out for another cleaning and they told me the date of 6 months and I booked. I came today and at the end, they tried to charge me over $400 for the cleaning!!!! I asked why as it should be free through insurance. The rude and grumpy front desk lady told me it's 6 days short of 6 months and told me it's my fault for not "double checking" after they told me a 6 month date and booked me. I thought dentists offices were smart enough to count 6 months and tell clients dates but I guess not! Clearly counting 6 months is too hard for these employees or they are trying to scam patients for more money. Ridiculous. I am calling my insurance company to tell them and get this charge taken off while also never returning. Not only would she not apologize but she was rude and completely blamed me as the client. Yikes! What horrible business practice and customer service. I wouldn't ever come here and if you do, make sure you "double check" the 6 month dates as they are scamming people. read more

Even after brushing four times a day, using mouth wash, no smoking, no drinking and I may even have one Soda month...? I could not avoid a trip to the Dentist due to having a lose tooth. The funny part is when asking Friends about a referral for a Good Dentist, I got the same answer which is I am sorry.. I have not seen mine either in years I forgot the name...? As usual, I went to the best source of all, I went to YELP where I found Bellevue Dental Care. I made one phone call and they were able to see me the following day. Most of all, I went to their website and I printed all needed forms they need, I completed them and took them with me so I don't have to wait for ever there completing these forms. When I got to my appointment the following day, I did not have to wait at all, they were ready and I was on that chair so quick. The staff were wonderful and the Doctors and Assistants were truly great people. I saw Dr. Johann Yi who took the time to explain everything to me and showed me the Xray and explained it. I did not get that feeling I got in other offices in the past where you are being sold many things at the same time. He removed that tooth without any pain at all and I was back to myself in two hours. The next day, I even had beef for lunch and all pain is gone. I look forward to my next appointment to inspect my teeth and do some cleaning. I would really give this place Ten Stars. Great people and Great Service, this is the place to go before, during or after any teeth pain...............but why wait, go before. read more

This is a reply to another act of disrespect from BDC. Now they claim me being impossible to deal with. Well, I have been coming there for 3 years and not even once I came or left without a smile. I made real life friends with some of their workers. And suddenly, I am being impossible...? Instead of bullying me, dr. was supposed to look at the cameras and find out who actually acted impossible- me or his front desk. They choose a very interesting way of correcting their mistake- attacking me and trying to make me look like a crazy person who just comes and yells for no reason. And I didn't even yell... Been going to Dr. Yi for over 2+ years. Wish I had come in sooner. After my crown fell off 3 times from the Highlands Dentistry in Issaquah, I knew it was time to switch. They do a great job cleaning and polishing, very thorough. The dental chairs are so comfy you can relax during the procedures. I have soft teeth so get fillings often. The worst part about getting a filling done is the numbing needles. But, Dr. Yi is very gentle and I can barely feel them. I feel great after each visit. I don't have to worry about getting unnecessary work done. Highly recommend this office with convenient access from 405. Recommended Dr. Yi to my co-worker and she is pleased as well. I have Delta Dental insurance and no issues with billing. Front office ladies are very sweet. Fresh magazines to keep you entertained but I never have to wait beyond a few minutes. read more

They're always friendly without being saccharine and they make going to the dentist as enjoyable as such a thing can be. The facilities are clean and the technology is up to date. I would not recommend to a friend. I didn't want to have x-rays done because I had them done 13 months before, and I eventually felt bad because they continued to insist that I have X-rays done. I came for regular teeth cleaning but they tried to schedule me for upgraded services that would cost me a lot of money out of pocket as opposed to be completely covered by my insurance. read more

It was a nightmare last month I went to this unethical dental clinic. The hygienist first looked at my X ray films and told me everything looks good, no cavities. The dentist got me waiting for 30 mins after I've already spent 1 hour taking the X rays and gum measurement. When the dentist finally came, he told me I got 2 cavities (2s and 3s). I was pretty surprised because I haven't got a single cavity since I started to use power toothbrush 6 years ago. But what do I know? he is the dentist. not me. However, since the doctor got me waiting for so long, they don't have time to clean my teeth. They scheduled me for the next appointment and sent me home with a treatment plan which has huge fees on it. My insurance covers $500 already and I still got to pay few hundreds out of my pocket for two fillings and gum treatment. The fees just look unreasonable. I called and told them I want to do the fillings some place else and only want a routine teeth cleaning which my insurance covers all. They rejected me by saying the insurance carrier will not pay the teeth cleaning without having a gum treatment first. True or not, I was very upset and refused to go back. Yesterday I went to a new dental clinic where my physician recommends. Turned out ***I don't have any cavities***, and my gum infection is not serious enough to do any treatment. During the teeth clean, I wanted to be cautious so I asked both the hygienist and the dentist if they see any cavities. But NONE. Anyway, I had a great experience and it didn't cost me a dime! I am going to report the shady dental clinic and hope no one goes there and get scammed. It's not just unethical, it's outrageous! What are they going to do if I don't have a cavity and they want to make money? Drill my perfectly healthy tooth and fill it up? OUTRAGEOUS! The second best part of this story is, I compared my treatment detail and my husband's, and I notice they charged me different fees for the same treatment (same code). My husband went there 3 months earlier than me. The treatment for a 2-surface filling (code D2392) for him is $183, which insurance covers $118.4 and my husband paid the rest $64.60. The same treatment for me is $270, which the insurance covers the same amount $118.4 and I have to pay $151.60. I have asked my friend who is a dental student and he told me the fees might depend on the clinic but same code will have same fees. It's still possible that they increased the fee within three months. Therefore, I will make no comment on this but just bringing this to your attention and you can decide if it's reasonable the fees for me increased by **250%**. ****************************************************** In conclusion, Be careful if you decide to go to Bellevue Dental Care! My dentist was Dr. Johann Yi. The staff there seems very friendly and helpful and you will feel so welcome. But it's a shady clinic. I recently went back to see Dr. Yi, and he advised me to replace a crown. He claimed that crown was not seated correctly. This crown was installed by previous dentist. At first, I hesitated and told Dr. Yi the crown he wants to replace is relatively new crown (installation in the last 4 years), and I stated that didn't have any issues with it. (The crown had a filling and didn't look all white). He said there could potentially be tooth decay underneath the crown, and if i don't replace it, I risked loosing the tooth. Since I have no expertise in dental care or the practice, I trusted the Dr. and agreed to replace it. Upon replacing the crown, I asked Dr. Yi if there was any decay, and he said no (I felt like I was at a car lot and coherced into a bad deal simply because he knew that I didn't have any expertise in this field). I paid the balance that was quoted to my by their office on the day of the service, even though I really didn't need the replacement (it felt so aggravating that a professional would leverage me in that fashion). Then to make matters worst, I received a call from their office that my insurance benefits allowance maxed out, which couldn't be true since I had only one cleaning done duing the year and my plan in include more coverage. There office continued to call and shove the fact that my insurance coverage didn't cover this procedure. When they call me the second time it became clear that Dr. Yi was not supposed to tell me that a portion of the crown was to be covered by my insurance. This was a deciding factor in letting him replace the crown (now, I felt infuriated... and to be honest almost scammed). Here the doctor, the medical professional told me there is serious risk of you loosing your tooth, but thankfully your insurance will cover it. Turns out I wasn't at risk and there was no decay... and even worse, Dr. Yi was wrong regarding my insurance regarding a new crown and I was essentially out of luck due to him misquoting me on sitting on the dentist's chair. In order to calm myself down, I figured I would get second opinion and it turns out that a different, experienced dentist stated that i didn't need to replace the crown at all. What?! It should have a watch every 6 months to see if decay was happening (now, I'm starting to think this was more of business referral than dental referral). And of course, it gets worse as the crown Dr. Yi installed irritates my gum to no end ever since the day of replacement. I emailed my concerns to the payment processing focal at the office, Carol, and she stated that Dr. Yi said "I had a cavity under the crown and it needed to be replaced." What?! The confusion rolls on... and I was literally shocked that they are trying to justify how they are billing me for a crown that didn't even need to be replaced... I literally don't understand how the Dr. told me one thing, guessed wrong on my insurance policy, and then the payment processing focal had the guts to lie about what actually transpired during the visit. Putting it nicely, it was unprofessional. And it gets worse, Carol also immediately sent my bill to collections and instead of collecting the balance on the crown, the office decided to charge me $200 more for the crown. They did not want to hear me out at all... and clearly they themselves didn't know what was going on. When i questioned why they increased the balance, they gave an excuse that the insurance allows us to bill this arbitrary amount (it was like now that you are questioning me; I'm going to bill you for daring to ask me why I'm being charged for something that was unnecessary and not even documented correctly in your system). Really poor customer service... and even worse ethics. It is very unethical in the way that they changed the price on me twice for the same crown, and then when I questioned the Dr. judgment and the words that he communicated to me, the person at the front desk immediately sent me to collections. It's shocking that these types of clinics exist. I'm very unhappy with the way they handled me as a patient and a person. Be aware that they want to make money first and foremost and will make try to do everything, including threatening you, exhorting your and sending you to collections if you question of them (clearly trying to cover their mistakes) and it's something i didn't expect from their office based on the values and ethics they purport to have. *** Also, they never sent me a bill... then, they stated that they sent me a bill in March... the crown was installed in April *** Not sure what to do next :( read more

I've been going to Drs. Yi and Hyodo for 15 or so years. I find them quite competent, on time, practical, and the staff always warmly welcoming. While I really don't like visiting ANY dentist, I find this practice the best I've ever experienced. So, even though I no longer work in Bellevue, I trek back twice a year, and my sense of relative comfort is definitely worth the time spent on the trip. They are sensitive to my unease and good to explain what's happening as they go along, even with routine care, if I ask. They're good to work with on scheduling, including early a.m. appointments. I have been a regular at this place since last year. The place is nicely setup. I enjoyed talking to every person I was assigned every time. They are friendly and so is the doctor. He has a pleasing personality and he really patient with you. He never rushes through, even if he has a busy day. They always give back a card package with a brush, paste, floss, etc. Also they have gifts for referals and once you complete your first cleaning. I am visiting Bellevue for 3 months. During dinner last night, the crown of a tooth underwent RCT came out all on a sudden. I was really in a state of shock. First, I never expected that. Last but not the least, this is not the city I live. A friend recommended this place. I took an appointment today morning. And, Dr. Mike re-cemented that crown within 10 mins. The nurse was really good and all the staff were very friendly. I am now relaxed and back to work (and eat) in less than 3 hours. read more

I came here after having a terrible experience at another dentist down the street, also because this place is only a couple blocks from my house and the location was so convenient. The receptionist, Holly, was so accommodating and reassuring on the phone, and when I stepped in the atmosphere was warm and friendly. It reminded me of the old dentist I went to back home when I was younger, and they were playing country music. You could tell that everyone that works there loved their jobs and I felt the most at ease I've probably ever felt at a dentist. I hadn't have my teeth cleaned in about five years, but the dental hygenist that saw me was so nice and understanding about my situation. I still have a lot of work that needs to be done, but I'm definitely looking forward to going back, and having my teeth healthy again! Dr. Yi has been my dentist now for over 10 years. My wife is also a patient. The location is convenient and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The office is clean and modern with plenty of parking outside. When my work schedule was so chaotic, they were always able to help me get in for an appointment in a timely manner. I have never had an issue w/ my dental plan. I had this dental plan that they did not have a provider contract with but they became a preferred provider under my plan to keep my costs in line and retain my wife and I as patients. The office is very good about appt reminders and of course they always give you a little goody bag when you leave w/ a toothbrush, floss and a small travel size tube of toothpaste. I have been coming to Bellevue Dental Care for the past 16 plus years and Dr. Hyodo and Dr. Yi have been taking excellent care of my teeth as well as both my kids teeth from Birth! They have an amazing staff that has been with Bellevue Dental for many years and you can see that they love working there! Everyone is friendly and treat you with respect.... like you were part of the Dental family. The office is well kept , very clean and a warm atmosphere. They are on time and are very helpful with scheduling all three of us at the same time.
