I had a collection of gold and silver coins I'd been holding for 20 years and wanted to sell before year-end amid the late 2025 surge. My options for immediate sale were to go in person or to sell to national online retailers. Before going to BRC, I pre-checked buy-back prices online for my coins at JM Coins, Kitco, and Money Metals. Overall, the final price I received was in-line with MM, about 4% better than JMC, and about 7% better than Kitco. So, I was completely pleased with the pricing at BRC. Additionally, I walked out with a check, no need to package, insure, and ship metals (hoping for no problems), and wait 1-2 weeks for payment. The "cost" is to drive, to go early, wait in line among 2-3 dozen others doing the same. If you can plan a few days out, book an online appointment and you jump the line. The workers are good natured and BRC seems to have a seamless process for pricing out standard coinage. Recommended. The sadness in selling long-held numismatics these days is that the exorbitant overcharge from yesteryear for MS70, for proofs, for "First Strikes" for DCAMs, etc. makes no difference in buy-backs. The industry has gone a different direction and there is seemingly no benefit over bullion when it comes time to sell. But that isn't the fault of BRC or any particular metals company. read more

I went in there to sell graded silver coins that were all signed. Everything they offered me was no more than 50% of there value sold on open bids on ebay. Sets that were selling for $400+ on ebay consistently even days prior. I even showed him that I sold 2 others the week before for $410 each on open bids. They offered me less than $200 each. And that went on and on through all the coins I brought in. They literally offered less than half. Glad I drove almost 50 minutes to go somewhere that advertises that they give the highest prices. Even the guy offering me money after I said no I'm good looked at me like yeah I don't blame you. Just another (we buy gold and silver shop). After hearing an ad for them on KJR Sports Radio, I found there is a Tacoma store. Cool! The store is on the south end of Pacific at 23rd. It looks like a converted auto garage as there are a few off street parking spots in front of the shop. If you are worried about safety carrying around valuables, this is a plus! My experience could not have been easier or more pleasant. I met with a young lady named Theresa (I'm 72 so every body is "young"). She gave me a value on the coins I had and explained how they were valued vs uncirculated coins. Made sense. I've been looking at other gold coin dealers and Bellevue Rare Coins was in the ball park. It was a big job involving 900 some US coins and about 150 foreign ones. He was fully transparent and above board about the condition and potential value of each piece. Shame on you Tacoma Bellevue Rare Coins...At first I had visited your shop and loved the customer service and coins for my kids in XMAS. The experience was so good that I recommended to my wife to take a custom made gold ring into the shop to validate that it was made in 18K (as she had requested from the California based jewelry maker). Her experience was terrible and now we will question whether we will ever be back to this Tacoma based outlet of Bellevue Rare Coins. Couple of issues with my wife's visit: 1. She asked if she could get the ring "scanned" with a Vanta™ handheld XRF analyzer (or similar "gun"). She was told by the young man at the counter that they didn't have one and those ONLY detect 24K gold. You know that is absolute B.S. and any self-respecting precious metal dealer or hobbyist knows it detects %s of metals. BAD, no knowledge of the industry. 2. They told her the only way to determine "accurately" the Karat of the gold was to conduct a SCRATCH test. Again BRCs you know this is NOT correct! In absence of a XRF analyzer you can do a density test or other NON-INVASIVE methods to test the purity of gold. VERY BAD 3. The 2 gentlemen (now there were 2) kept saying that they would pay her for the ring. My wife had to explain that she only wanted to confirm the gold density in the ring....still they persisted to "give her money" for the ring. BAD, your staff didn't listen! 4. They kept telling her that if you wanted to get an appraisal of the ring that is a totally different effort and they wouldn't be able to do that immediately. Well then BRCs, HOW would you determine the value of the ring if you couldn't test it accurately? Maybe you do have a XRF analyzer somewhere???? 5. This is NOT good customer service where a FEMALE customer has to endure "MAN-XPLAINING" how to test gold. Just a friendly note: My wife is a Chemical Engineer!!! Nice job, NOT knowing your customer. Perhaps the easiest transaction I have ever done selling precious metals. Stacey was friendly and professional. The service is top notch. You pay a small premium to buy and sell, but it's nominal. She was super helpful and very professional. When we got there she was busy with other customers but greeted us immediately and let us know that she would be with us as soon as she could. location was very busy that day and by the time she had completed the customer she had been helping there was a line of customers to deal with and in a very professional manner she let them all know that she was the only one there at that time and that she would be with the next customer as as she could. I recently went to Bellevue Rare Coins in Tacoma. Kevin was the person that examined a lot of jewelry that I brought in.I had a really large amount of jewelry. From some more valuable pieces to lots of odds and ends. It was a lot to go through. Kevin didn't flinch. He plunged through this enormous job with a smile and huge amount of patience. He separated it into groups. 10k, 14k and 18k as well as some costume jewelry which came home with me. Everything is based upon the worth of gold at today's prices. I had an excellent experience with William. I had made an online appointment to appraise/sell my silver and gold coins I inherited from my grandparents. He was on time, polite, worked quickly and gave me a fair price for what I had. I had over 40 coins and got cash in hand in under 30 minutes. I also appreciate that he explained exactly what they do with the items I brought in. Saying some get cleaned up and sold individually and some go wholesale to other markets, which impacted if he was giving me market value or above/below market for any given item. On April 22, 2023, my mother, daughter and I went to the Tacoma location. After waiting for over an hour to be helped, my mother who will be 100 years old on her next birthday, asked if she could please use their bathroom. The woman clerk with the purple hair kept impatiently repeating that they don't have a public bathroom. After over an hour waiting with my 99-year-old mother, I felt she could have made an exception. We abruptly left without being helped and vowed to never return to that store. This was extremely poor customer service. We were "customers" and not the "public". read more

I went there today and brought jewelry with actually appraisals AIG appraisals from 2005. The appraisal value was more than 75k and I had another couple dozen pieces. All were real gold, diamonds and gems. That was not in dispute. After 2 hours of looking at everything I was offered under $6800 for everything. A complete waste of my time. they say in the commercials they give honest value is a joke at best, theft at worst. I would be very very careful doing business with them. Get a second opinion for sure. I think they prey on people that need money fast. A fancy pawn shop is what my opinion is. I was expecting maybe 50% or so of appraised value at worst.
