Visited this salon for the first time this week... I LOVE it. It is so chic and girly. The decor is amazing. I want those zebra print chairs!!! They are appointment only, but my stylist was telling me they will take walk-ins whenever possible. I got my hair colored by Grisel. She did an AMAZING job. I love my hair. The head massage you get while she shampoos your hair is AMAZING! My favorite part. It was $65 to color my hair (highlights.) Pretty reasonable and she does a great job. Anita is Amazing!!! I have been looking for a new stylist that is super close by since I had my son and moved out to Buena Park. I tried a salon at the Cerritos Mall about a year or so ago and that was a HUGE Mistake!! Spent over $200 and most of my 8 hours forgotten in the back, all to come out with sub par service and style. Thank the heavens for Yelp and Anita and The Hair Lounge!! Anita saved my hair!! She really knows what she is doing. I was in and out in only 3 hours! Mind you when I came in I had almost waist length hair that is thick, straight, and sucks up a lot of product. She cut, colored and styled it perfectly! And all while being super chill and cool. I have totally found the stylist I have been searching for!! Yay!!! read more

Suhad is the owner and cuts hair a couple times a week at her salon. I have been going to her for over a year every few weeks for a color, cut, highlights and occasional Keratin treatment of which I pay $110-$200 per visit. As her client, I've spent close to $1,000 in total. When I started going to her, after a couple visits, she started using an assistant to shampoo, rinse, etc. In April, I came home and noticed the assistant did not wash all the color out of my hairline. I shared with Suhad and she agreed to do it for now on. She APOLOGIZED when I saw her in person. Fast forward to my last visit of a cut and color. When I woke up the next morning, I noticed hair color on 2 of my white pillowcases. I put on my glasses, looked closely in the mirror and noticed there was a lot of color that was not rinsed well from my ENTIRE hairline. I did not notice this when I left the salon. Note: I have had many rinses from her in the past with excellent rinsing! I texted her a photo of the color in my hairline explaining that I wanted to wear this hairstyle to an event, but now it needed to be completely rinsed out. I knew she was leaving for Hawaii with her family the next day. Her response indicated to me that she did not want to be bothered. Her text said my "hair was rinsed well and it will come off when I wash my hair." This comment DID NOT ADDRESS THE EVENT I WAS ATTENDING. Why would I want to wash and restyle my hair all over again? She also said that she "takes great pride in her work and makes sure all her clients are 100% happy." However, during the exchange of texts, she did not make any effort to make me 100% happy. That's called blowing hot air...not backing up your word. So, I texted her a photo of a dry cotton pad with that I gently rubbed from my hairline. I explained AGAIN that I did not want to wash my hair until after the event. I also shared my daughter's comment after I asked her if there was anything wrong with my hair. She said: "Yes, mom I can see the hair color on your skin around your hairline. It needs to be rinsed out." Well, I sure didn't want to attend an upscale event with a noticeable hairline of color as I was talking with people face to face. Would anybody? In my text, I told Suhad I was making her aware that I was discouraged with this and was NOT 100% happy. Also reminded her I gave her a $10 tip, paying $120 for her service. That tip obviously meant nothing to her based on her response. She simply responded: "I'm sorry for your disappointment." I have learned that was wrong in my judgement of this stylist/owner. I was thinking she would apologize and try to make it right for the sake of her salon's reputation. Bottom line: I paid for a service where it is her job to rinse my hair out completely as she had done in the past, not for it to come out later when I wash my hair. I clearly told her I was going to an event. That's not what I paid for! So, I am taking 1 star away for NOT BEING A PERSON OF HER WORD -- didn't do anything to make this client 100% happy as she says she does. There was no attempt to make this client want to come back. Good customer service would be to apologize and think of what you could do NOT to lose a client. For example, give a discount or get another stylist to fix the problem, etc. Taking 1 star away for NOT APOLOGIZING to this loyal client and not addressing my comments head on. Taking 1 star away for receiving THIS TEXT TODAY: "I wanted to let you know that going forward I will be utilizing my assistant on all my clients." Her reason: "it's what's best for me." Her actions have illustrated that she comes first, not her clients. Lastly, taking 1 star away for NO LOYALTY TO THE CLIENT. I hope others find this experience helpful. read more

Best experience ever!! My first time going to this place and Rachel is the one you should go! She's is super duper nice and gives out really good tips on how to style your hair! Before, my hair was a mess! My previous hair stylist criticized my hair color (which I did on my own) while he was "styling" my hair and insisted he'd redo it for me. I denied him of course... I mean really...would I want someone to do my hair who bad mouth me? Ah hell nah! But Rachel was super nice and thought I actually did a nice job! She even thought it was cool that I used a fork to brush through my hair when I bleached it #thelittlemermaid lol. Anywaysss, I showed her a picture of what hair style I wanted and BAM! Like magic! KAITLIN! Yaaaaas! I am very particular about my hair (and styles) but seeing as I have to be at an all-day wedding event starting from 11am, my hair was the last thing I wanted to worry about. I needed a style that would hold in place and not succumb to humidity, dancing, and intense nods. Thus comes Kaitlin. Kaitlin was extremely accommodating to all of my requests. I actually contacted her the night before the wedding for a 10 am appointment (SUPER last minute) but she was able to do it! She explained to me that they're all independent contractors who make up their own schedule, which is great to know for future references. So, I shoot her a couple of picture text messages regarding the style concept I wanted and of my current hair. It took 45 minutes, 44 bobby pins, and $65, but my hair not only held beautifully for 13 hours, but it made me feel elegant, sophisticated, photo ready, and most importantly, ready to party. I was more than happy with my hair, and Kaitlin is such a sweetheart. Her bubbly personality and styling skills = priceless. She will make you say "yaaaas" or at least feel like it :) read more

I really wanted to be excited about this place, especially after seeing these reviews, but I have to give my honest review. Nice atmosphere, nice ladies working here, clean working space so I want to give them more stars. But the stars need to reflect their work and the value as well. I came here because my usual girl was slammed and I waited last minute to get my hair done. I hoped to be so impressed that I switched to this place as my new go-to place, but that was not meant to be. My appointment was at 4:00 but I had to wait a half hour for her to finish the gal before me. I had a meeting at 7:00 and I was nervous this would make me late, but I texted my coworker that I'd be a little late, however I'd still be there. I had a conversation about what I wanted for my hair. I wanted a naturally blended balayage that started a bit higher up. It had been a looong time since I last got my hair done so I asked her to cut off as much as she needed to remove the damaged ends. I made it clear that I didn't want thick highlights, disliked blunt brush strokes, and orange tints on my Asian hair was a concern. She said she totally got all of that. I enjoyed talking with my hairstylist and she was very outgoing. She seems like a good person. I asked about her technique a couple of times and reminded her what I'd said about the thick, blunt brush strokes because it seemed that what she was doing would ensure I would end up with tiger stripes. It took her a long time to get through my hair and she remarked in the amount of hair I had so perhaps she hadn't expected it to be so much. I ended up having to text my friend that I'd be more than a little late for the meeting ( I ended up missing the entire thing because I didn't leave until almost 8:30!). After washing, she took a while to blow dry my hair even with her assistant. When she was almost done, she asked if it was okay if she didn't style it. I was still thinking I might make the end of my meeting, so I told her that was fine. The color looked good. I was really, really irked when she charged $50 more because "she had to use more product because I had a lot of hair". I've never been charged more because of how much hair I have. Do they give discounts to people who don't have as much hair? I paid, then got to my meeting quickly to find that not only was it over, but everyone had already gone home. I drove home feeling badly that I didn't make it. When I got home, the husband was not impressed with the hair. I went to the bathroom to curl it, telling him he may think differently if it was curled. He asked why they didn't curl it. I paid how much, including tip and they didn't even do my hair like all places usually do? As I curled it, I saw that all my concerns were evident in my hair. Split, fried hair still there because she had not cut enough. Thick strips that looked like low end highlights. You could even see where the brush strokes started. Some highlights were brown, red, orange and blonde on the same strands of hair. It did not look like a fresh look; it looked like I purchased a highlight kit from the store and tried to apply it over my old balayage at home. I later called the hair stylist directly and she nicely agreed to fix the concerns the following Tuesday. I appreciate that she agreed that she could see what I was talking about. She cut off more dead ends after I assured her again that I didn't care how much needed to be cut off as long as they were completely gone. She foiled my hair and added toner again to remedy the thick, blunt lines and orange hair. This took a couple of hours. This time around, she didn't even dry my hair. I dried my hair at home to see the color but could already tell that she had not fixed the issues. Ultimately, I say go ahead and give this place a try. Perhaps you will have better luck than I did. There seems to be many satisfied clients here and they seem pretty busy. As I stated, it's clean and has a good atmosphere. Everyone seems friendly enough. However, I will not be coming back here for them to even fix my hair. I paid $234 and my hair does not reflect it. I had to cut my own hair to finish getting rid of the split ends. I took one star away for the bad cut and color that took four hours to do and a second visit to fix (yet did not). I took another away for the unexpected $50 up charge without even styling my hair or drying it the second time to make sure they fixed my hair. I've noticed that when a stylist gets a lot of great reviews she gets lazy and complacent. The reviews are like money in the bank. She doesn't have to try as hard. She can even charge more than the price that was quoted over the phone. My haircut was the most expensive one I have ever had but one of the worst--a C-. It was really just a trim. I came here because I wanted to have my hair colored but I have major hair anxiety. I came in and Suhad was super nice and comforting towards me. She reassured me that my hair wouldn't lose it's health. She did a trial run of the color on a couple strands of my hair and I liked the initial color a lot so I was going to come back to do the whole thing but the color became really ugly and faded looking within a month. It wasn't horrendous looking and of course within given time the color will naturally fade a little. But I didn't like it. I still would've even came back if it wasn't so pricy. I'm not surprised at the price because of the length of my hair, it's just I didn't wanna pay that much money for having the hair color change after every few washes. I decided less then a week before my wedding I wanted to get my hair and make up professionally done. I contacted both Kristen and Paulina. They both contacted me on Monday, their day off and were able to squeeze me in Saturday morning. Not being in the area I wasnt able to meet either of them before my wedding. Paulina asked me to come in 30 mins early just be on the safe side. She asked if I had a picture of anything I would like. I showed her a picture and she asked me to text it to her. She continually looked back to reference the picture. I couldnt see what she was doing until the end but my sister kept telling me it looked really good. It took a little more then an hour. I was completely blown away. She did a FANTASTIC job and she completely replicated the picture to a T. I got tons of compliments! Kristen did my hair and she asked if I had pictures and did exactly what I was looking for. I have very long hair and she spent a lot of time making sure every stand of hair was curled and perfect. I called and made a appointment for 3:00pm. Michelle was at the front desk when I arrived. I sat down in a chair at the front and after sitting there for a few minutes I thought I should ask if i needed to sign in for my appointment. I was still sitting in the chair a short distance away. I asked 4 times with no response and went and talked to another hairstylist about it. Michelle later apologized and said she didn't see me and didn't hear me. She was on her phone and I hope it was work related purpose(she said it was). I waited for Kaitlin to come in at 3 and trim my hair. I just wanted the spit ends off and my hair evened up. She was polite and nice. I asked how much it would be for the trim and she said $50.00 was her price. If I had of known that I wouldn't have drove all the way over there.
