I took my upright bass in for an emergency "buzzing noise" repair that was driving me and everyone around me crazy. I saw that the fingerboard was coming separated from the neck and showed them how I could take a 3x5 card and slip it under the fingerboard and out the other side. In my head this was going to be an expensive repair but after 40+ years of ownership and Lord only knows what it went through before I owned it, it was due for something major to go wrong. They looked at it and found the wood was separating at the bottom by the peg hole to the point that one section was laying on top of the other section and creating the buzzing noise. They promptly reglued the pieces properly, charged me $50, and out the door I went, a happy camper! I thank the staff at Bellflower Music for being competent and trustworthy; they earned my business and I will recommend them to other musicians as needed. They also have a ton of second hand guitar and bass amps, PA heads, speaker cabinets of all sorts, sheet music, brass & woodwind instruments everywhere inside. They are a traditional old school music store, not a flashy Guitar Center or Sam Ash styled music center. It was well worth the visit over there. read more

Staff were super helpful! They were able to fix my Sons Yamaha Flute on short notice. It was missing a screw and a low note pad was torn. Replaced, pad, screw, and adjusted ($30). [Review #661] 2021 Yelp 100 Challenge (84/100) My 11 YO daughter started 2021-2022 in middle school & signed up for band as her elective, with flute as her choice instrument. Back in my day, rentals were pretty cheap for the year. Nowadays, it's double that amount per month on top of insurance. What?! You actually think I would trust a child to keep her equipment safe when it's her 1st time with such great responsibility on an expensive piece of equipment? ＼(｀0´)／ No way... I need to assure myself that this is something she really wants & can care for it. During her music teacher's intro, they suggested an online site to order & deliver the flute to the school. My husband's colleague, Mr. Perez (Band Teacher at Calle Mayor Middle School), highly recommended Bellflower Music Center. So here we are after the 1st week of school trying to "rent" 1st before committing to the instrument. The shop is small, & overflowing with instruments of sorts... there's a section of drums/percussions to the left of the entrance, guitars hanging along the upper left wall perimeter near the counters, rectangular plexiglass display of harmonicas, spinning display of music books, amongst all things musical. Located on busy Bellflower Blvd. & Beach St., there's quite a bit of foot traffic because their small private lot (11 spaces, including handicap parking) in the back was completely full. It was very busy, crowded on a late Saturday. We did some browsing while we waited for help. Our sales guy, James, was patient, thorough, & knowledgeable. He showed us 3 different brands & price points. Quality brands include: Yamaha, Pearl, Miyazawa, Gemeinhardt, Emerson, Altus, as mentioned by H's music teacher. I liked the Yamaha & its keys feel, & was my 1st pick. My husband felt differently since our fickled child often starts projects but isn't likely to finish... she's older now so her temperament is steadier than before. But I agree, music can be fun but I'm weary about the practice habits needed to play fluently. My logic was starting off with a well-established brand is crucial to learning & playing whereas as subpar flute is playability & durability. I digress. We decided to start basic with an Evette, not a brand I'm aware of or included on her teacher's list. It's been a few weeks & there's already an issue. H cannot press a couple of keys to play a note because the key is already down & doesn't stay up. Luckily, we paid for insurance to either get this fixed or replace it (solution pending, we going today to get it checked). I'll update this once there's a resolution. If this works out & H decides to commit to band; we'll definitely invest in a quality flute for her. Service is excellent! The staff takes time to answer your questions & help you determine the best fit. I highly recommend Bellflower Music Center to anyone looking for instruments or repairs! read more

This is a little family owned Music Store in downtown Bellflower. It is a little crowded and with all kinds of musical instruments all over the place. They have lessons, sell & rent instruments, and repair them as well. I have two guitars that really needed new strings. So I figured "What the Heck" I would much rather have it done, than do it myself. So I threw them in the car and brought them in. I was amazed to find out that the cost was on $17 per guitar including the price of the strings! They clean, polish change the strings and even tune it. I dropped them off and came back a couple of hours later and found two brand new looking guitars with new strings for only 17 a pop. The guy and girl at the counter were very friendly and helpful. And I was a very happy customer. I will continue to go to Bellflower Music for my guitars and might even take a class there... read more

They do price matching, at least they did on the Yamaha suprano I was interested in. I called all over town and no one had suprano saxophones in stock. Eli said they always keep one suprano in stock. I saved 10% off the MSRP. I was very happy about that. Now I'm able to play along with my Dave Kox CD's. I just love my Yamaha. Suprano and same quality as my YAS 62 alto There was one thing that didn't sit too well with me. That was in bold print on the receipt states "all sales final, no returns'. It was explained to me that if I have a problem with it I have to contact YAMAHA. This store does not back up their merchandise. read more
