Took my stray in to get my pick guard replaced with a loaded one as well as my guitar set up for playing. Joel nailed the action and it feels great! He cleaned up the neck and adjusted my tremolo bridge as well as the saddles and now I truly understand why guitar setups are so important. I spent hours playing it when I got home because it just felt so great (and sounded even better) The job took 4 days and he actually finished it a day earlier than he had told me which is a plus. Once he confirmed it was repairable, he quickly cut the string, replaced the tuner, and got everything back in place. The whole process took less than 10 minutes! I live in Carson, so driving out to Lakewood and getting it fixed the same day was such a relief. This guitar isn't for professional use--it's for my daughter who's just starting to learn--so having it ready right away saved me a lot of time and hassle. He even tuned it by ear in seconds, which was really impressive. Overall, a smooth and pleasant experience. I had to find a local option so I began my research. I came across several candidates, but none even came close to Jon from Guitar Tune Ups. His reviews are immaculate, which was my first green flag. His prices are unmatched, which was yet another plus, but the most notable quality to me was his ease to communicate with and ease to set up an appointment. For some reason the other shops I contacted seem to think themselves too good for the customer, but Jon is a guitar enthusiast and that is the biggest green flag to me. He is doing it for the craft and that is a man I can trust with my collection. He even took my work schedule into consideration and worked around it!
