This is a great place for both dinner and breakfast. It is a nice place where you have a choice of a booth or a table. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about the area which is nice! The food is superb! They were so nice to allow me to have biscuits and gravy as a side dish. read more

Such a cute, cozy spot for breakfast! The classic Eggs Benedict and the biscuits and gravy were both delicious. Our waitress (Althea?) was super sweet and attentive! Ruben sandwich was kind of interesting: it was like chopped corn beef mixed in with the sauerkraut. The sandwich was a bit overcooked getting a bit of a char on the outside. That was a little off-putting quality-wise. The innards were decent quantity-wise, but otherwise bland.. Wife had a ham quesadilla which was reasonably tasty, but basic. The hashbrowns were cooked to perfection, as were the dipped fries -- probably the best parts of the two meals. (3 stars) Service was very polite, and reasonably attentive (4+ stars) Will we eat here again? Possibly, as it's a good point to stop on our northwest journeys. But we'll probably explore other (limited) options in Garberville on our next trip. Any suggestions? read more

We put a pin in Garberville and its BW for just one night. It's neither charming Ferndale nor downtown Eureka... It's got its own Main Street feels. Since we supported a different restaurant the night before, I insisted we skip the h/motel breakfast room and try Bellini Cafe. It is a gem in the rough and thankfully, open for dinner and breakfast. Fantastic stop for ambiance, food and service! Enjoyed the music, friendly server from welcome to check. Decent traffic without a wait for a midweek morning. Large dining room but it felt cozy. A surprisingly extensive menu -- for breakfast and lunch / dinner -- since stocking so many ingredients can get costly. Plenty of vegetable options for the omelets; happy to get sliced tomatoes to curb the heavy starches before another day of hiking. Prices are pretty reasonable too, considering the haul food distributors take to deliver the goodies from farms and growers. Not fancy but not budget. Take your time when you're here. It doesn't offer coffee to go, as one person learned when she walked in to ask for a coffee and pastry. read more

On my way south, after finding nothing acceptable south of Eureka, I opted to eat here again, this time enjoying the french toast and a coffee. In traveling south towards the Bay Area, we had forgotten to eat lunch so we stopped in at Bellini Café around 2:30 (They close at 3). We were served promptly by the friendly young gentleman in the front. I can attest that the hamburgers and the open face mushroom sandwiches are excellent. the ambience is old school local wood diner which is right up my alley. We stopped by but, were forced to be outside because they wouldn't allow my service animal. They said I MUST have papers, or a vest. When I tried to explain, they simply said they know better as one of them works for a medical facility or some such thing. We were forced to sit outside. Ran across this by accident. Best food around hands down, surprisingly sophisticated. Higher priced by local standards (but very reasonable by SF standards!) food is prepared with care and creativity. Breakfast was outstanding. Example: fruit cup filled not with under ripe melon but three or four fruits all in season, including killer blackberries. read more

My band's van broke down a few miles south of Garberville, and we had to wait four hours for a ride. The staff of Bellini welcomed us to hang out in comfort for the entire time. They were incredibly nice, even going so far as to lend one of us an iPhone charging cable. Also, the food was generally delicious and the pie was awesome.
