Then I found Sheldon Jewelers and the contrast couldn't be greater. They were cheerful and helpful on the phone. In person, they were friendly and capable. Not only did they confirm they could do the job, they were very thorough in getting the right size and showed they understood the materials (both the silver and the unusual setting). I left feeling confident I'd gone to the right place. I got the ring today - not only was it done sooner than I expected but they did a lovely job for well under what I had budgeted. Ella was kind and helpful. They are both warm and talented - just the perfect place to go for any jewelry needs. I highly recommend them.

Made an appointment (which they require, max 30 mins) to have some items that I inherited valued (not "appraised" as appraisals require a charge for being verified, as for insurance purposes.) Hoping to repurpose some of the items into a ring. A friend had two rings made by Anderson's that are exquisite, and all done from materials in pieces she inherited. Anderson's really is a local treasure. May they stay around a long time.

I came into the store within the 14-day return window, as outlined in the policy, with the original receipt and item in hand. From the start, the interaction felt uncomfortable. The sales associate seemed visibly displeased that I was requesting an exchange and responded curtly when I asked a simple question about the value available for the exchange. The tone throughout the process felt dismissive rather than helpful. When my daughter selected a new piece, another associate completed the transaction, but the energy remained tense and unwelcoming. Attempts at light conversation were met with minimal response and little eye contact. I brought the pieces to him on 10/09/2019 and was told 2-3 weeks. I called on 11/08 for a status update and was told he had my pieces in his hand. I finally received a call from Harry on 11/18 the pieces were ready. I said I would probably be there Thanksgiving week. Seeing that I had time today, 11/21, I went today to pick up my jewelry. Not ready - come back next week. I told the woman I lived halfway to the Cape and received a call on 11/18 the pieces were ready. Then, they they told me the pieces would be ready in two hours so I killed the time. I did not like the work he did on the bracelet - still somewhat tight and on the chain for the necklace - two loops are noticeably larger than the rest of the chain. So two "stories", very expensive and unhappy with the job on two pieces. When I brought the jewelry in on 10/09, I did ask for a break and he gave me a break on the tax so he did earn one star.
