Brought a few pieces for repair and he did a good job . I always bring repairs to Boston but I could not make it in so I thought let me try to make a new connection! Well that was a big mistake!! I left a bracelet for repair and did not hear back? So after a week I called left a message and finally 3 day's later I get a call your repair is ready? No one called to tell me how much to fix the clasp. so I went and got a 150.00 bill just to fix a loose clasp! And he got all upset with me when I asked about the price. Alex and Co. I am in my 30s and prefer to do much of my shopping, whether it is clothing, electronics or basic necessities, online. I was tempted to look for an engagement ring online as I was convinced I could find a better deal and have it be more convenient than having to go from store to store. But nonetheless, I wanted to have an idea of what I was buying and my girlfriend wanted to see what options looked like. We went to maybe 3 or 4 stores and then she found Alex and Co on Instagram and we instantly did not regret it. Alex was patient, informative and really cared about finding the right ring and made my girlfriend and I feel like we were in good hands. Their showroom is very impressive and they have an amazing variety of settings and even more diamonds. And if you can't find the diamond you want, Alex WILL find it for you. And while I am on the topic... many 20 somethings and 30 somethings may be tempted to buy online. Please trust me that it really is not worth it. There are a lot of bluff diamonds and clarity enhanced diamonds out there that you feel you're getting an amazing deal on. Once you see them in person, they look terrible. I really have to say that despite my natural tendencies to buy everything online, it is really worth going to a reputable jeweler who has GIA certified diamonds and a jeweler who will never steer you to a poor quality diamond. After our first consultation, I came back 3 more times alone as I wanted to be sure I had all the information I possibly could. Each time Alex was patient, informative and most importantly, remembered what my girlfriend liked and remembered her reaction to each piece he showed her and reminded me of that. I am very happy with the overall experience and I cannot wait to propose to my girlfriend with this ring. I am not one to "get in to" the hype of jewelery, in fact I dislike the idea of it entirely, but I appreciate its value to my fiance, which lead me to write this review. I recently bought my (now) fiance's engagement ring from Alex and Company. On my journey to buy the ring I visited many small and large box jewelers, none of which made me feel as comfortable, confident and at ease as Alex did. From my first conversation to the last (just today) they have been nothing but professional and courteous, not to mention the ring is truly beautiful. I was amazed with Alex's patience with me and willingness to educate me (all while selling to me...but hey, it is a business right?...never pushy though). My review was very close to being relatively negative based on an experience that we just had.....Only two months in to wearing the ring, I learned that one of the small diamonds fell out of the setting (lost), which I must say really irritated me. My experience and overall feeling towards the company could have gone one of two ways based on the way they handled this issue. I called and spoke to Alex today and explained the problem, with out even thinking he assured me that they would take care of it, and "not to worry". We promptly brought it in only few hours later. They replaced (no charge) the small diamond, and set it while we waited...15 minutes. I think that if a jeweler can create such beautiful work and stand by their work, they can be trusted and must be considered when making your next purchase. read more

I am recently engaged, and my fiance purchased my ring from Alex and Co. The Diamond was from my grandmother's old ring, and Alex the jeweler was able to take the diamond and place it on a beautiful setting. My fiance went in not having a clue as to what he wanted to do with the diamond, and Alex showed him many options in his price range, and even showed him what he could down the road, as far as anniversary bands that matched the band the diamond was set in. I had to go back because the ring was a bit too big for my finger, and in a short period of time he was able to size it to my finger and even add a bridge so it would fit just right.
