I visited this place because of the good reviews regarding the prices they offer for diamonds, as well at the description of their diamond buying process on their website, I have a GIA certified diamond in perfect condition and was not even given the time of day. The man sitting at the table didn't examine the diamond, didn't look at the GIA form, or offer anything at all. I was told even though the ring retailed at over $5000, it's worth nothing because of the lab grown diamonds. Either the man who evaluated my gold to sell was completely incompetent and made a mistake in his measurements or this place is a total rip off. I was given a quote of $800 for the lot ( melt value) The next day I took the same batch of gold jewelry to Cash for Gold in Shrewsbury and received $1790.00 cash. In fact one of the necklaces was actually 18k not 14k as was indicated by the salesman at this store. I do not recommend this place. read more

The owner was super friendly and explained the whole process to me. I had seperated the 10k from the 14k and he was honest enough to pull some 14k from the wrong pile that I missed. Wasn't very pleasant to work with. Told me from the start he would have to melt the jewelry down, evaluated it all, then told me he would have to pop out the stones to get me an estimated weight. When I said I wasn't sure I wanted the stones out at this time, as I wasn't sure if I wanted to sell for gold or as a whole piece, he got extremely annoyed saying I just wasted both of our time. I've dealt with The Gold Rush on two separate occasions and both times they did a great job. The first time I went to them, they bought an older rolex watch I had. I had done some research and was surprised to see that the price they offered me was with in $200 of the price I wanted. We were able to come to a midpoint and close the transaction. If you need to sell something your time is not wasted by running over there. The owner treated me like a human being not chattel, he explained the whole process but made it very easy to make a decision to sell, I was truly on the fence.
