My daughter and I stayed here for dance nationals at Foxwoods. A few other dance families also stayed here. I called a week earlier to ask if we could be put near each other at the hotel, and the front desk person kindly said they would put us next to each other. When we checked in, we walked into the lobby. It is very pretty and appears clean. To their credit, they had us next door to our friends. Super cool! It was cool until we realized we were in a construction area. They were remodeling rooms across the hall, and Sheetrock dust was billowing into the hallway. Not cool! We went to the front desk, and they were accommodating and moved us (both rooms) upstairs, away from construction. If you have ever traveled for dance, there's quite a lot of stuff to carry/move. This wasn't fun during a heat wave, but we lugged everything upstairs. The second room was serviceable. We were a bit disappointed that the pool was closed for renovation, but happy that the office suggested their "sister hotel" for swimming. A little inconvenient, but at least there was a pool. Cons: the outdoor doors were not locked to outsiders. Due to the construction in various parts of the hotel, extension cords and propped doors were kind of the norm. I was very disappointed in my recent stay. Desk Staff was mostly helpful and courteous. (Shout out to Patrick and Gurdy) My other favorite parts of the hotel were the complimentary coffee bar in the morning; the grab and go complimentary chilled bottles of water; and I found the bed comfortable. So why only one star? Housekeeping and the hotel's policy on housekeeping. Checkout is at 11, and I was staying several days, yet housekeeping was knocking on the door at 9:30 - 10;00 when I was relaxing, showering, or otherwise getting ready for the day. I am elderly and disabled so it takes me awhile to get going. But the policy is that if you "refuse" housekeeping by telling them that you aren't ready, they do not come back. I asked at the desk several times if they could please come after 11, since I would not be checking out for a week - but it didn't happen. The room had not been cleaned at all for 3 days in a row. Otherwise, it was fresh when we checked in and cleaned only 1 day during the 6 days of our stay. There's a large, elegant jar of ice water with lemon in the lobby. At least 2 days in a row it was neither cleaned nor refilled, and a sludgy layer of old lemons remained on the bottom. My partner and I made the unwise decision to have a drink and a light supper in the lounge one evening, and each ordered "crispy chicken filet on a brioche bun with fresh tomatoes and lettuce " for $16. It was a very small previously frozen chicken patty that had been microwaved, and had hot and cold spots. That's how I discovered there's no real kitchen. There's a crockpot that I saw when walking by that was steaming morning and night (for the nacho cheese, maybe?) and a microwave. Coincidentally, or perhaps not, my partner and I were each sick as dogs during that night and the next day. We had one cocktail each, so no, we didn't overdo it. There were other things as well but that's enough. I will never stay there again or recommend it to anyone I know. It looks pretty nice on line, and in person if you don't look closely, but it's actually a crummy motel pretending to be a resort, and selling itself on being close to Foxwoods Casino. read more

After my family checked in, and we're back at the hotel the first evening I went into the shower to start the water for my child. When I did this I found toe nails and a giant clump of hair. I immediately threw it into the trash and upon washing my hands I went to dry them on a 'clean' towel and found hair that wasn't my family's on it. Not to mention we were only left half a roll of toilet paper. The next morning I went to talk to the front desk and I was told the room would be cleaned that day, we left for the wedding we were attending at 1:30 and when we arrived back at 9pm the room still had not been cleaned and we had had no toilet paper for the entire day. I went and talked to the front desk where I spoke to the assistant GM and he assured me that the GM would call me and that they'd have the room cleaned in the morning. The next day I went to the front desk at 10am and was told the GM wasn't there yet and that she'd call me that day. We left and came back around 2:30 and the room still had not been cleaned. I went to the front desk again and was told the GM 'stepped away' and that for sure she would call me that day. She never called me. They finally had the room clean by 8:30 pm the last day we were there. We were given a dirty room and For 2 days they did nit have it cleaned even though I spoke to multiple management members and tried to escalate the issue. This is beyond unacceptable. And now after being checked out and offered no compensation, no call back from the GM which I was assured would happen it seems like this hotel does not care at all about having guests check into dirty rooms and not having them cleaned or the situation rectified at all. read more

The hotel location is very good, the employees are very nice but ... The hotel's restaurant was not operating due to renovation, during Thanksgiving weekend. We had to request an extra blanket, (there was none in the closet), we have to collect it ourselves. I requested-granted, late checked out. Shortly after 11 AM the door opened-Housekeeping, "hello" she said. The employee was surprised when I said we were still in the room, she answered that it was past 11, I let her know, in Spanish, "I have late check out and you didn't knock." She was nice and apologetic about the incident. Breakfast is served until 9:30 AM. The hotel looks small but it not that. First of all- our AC unit in the room was spuing water, iced over and the carpet was soaking wet by the unit. When someone came to look at it, all they could offer us was a room at another hotel, at 1:00 AM! No! We couldn't shut the AC off and it was making awful noises - all night! Second: my phone charger was left behind in the room plugged into the clock radio. When I called a few hours later to retrieve it, I was told nobody found it from housekeeping. So that is still missing and still has not turned up 48 hours later. I keep calling ... A very poor experience all around. A faulty AC & theft . This is my first time starting here. We didn't spend much time in the room as we wanted to get right to Foxwoods to have some fun before going to the Miranda Lambert show. The lobby is gorgeous. It looks like something right out of Venice. Everything was clean and luxurious, and the woman behind the counter was extremely friendly. We got there almost an hour before check in, but they didn't seem phased at all. They were able to get us into a room quickly, someone I greatly appreciated. The room was average size to what I typically expect from a hotel. It was a very clean room, the furniture layout was fine and the track lights on the ceiling lit the while place up super bright. The bathroom was very spacious and the show was great. The king-size bed mattress was a tad too plush for my taste but it's always a flip of the coin if you get firm or plush in these places. No harm, no foul. It was nice and quiet when we got back, and we slept comfortably. Checkout the next morning was seamless and that was the end of it. So why does the hotel lose a star? Well... Nothing is perfect. We called down for room service at about 11pm when we got back to our room. The woman who took our order on the phone was nice, told us our food would be ready in a half hour, thanked us and wished us a good night. The man who dropped off the food was cordial and very helpful. Credit to the staff, this is NOT a bad reflection on them at all, I want to make that clear. The problem was the price and quality of the food. The Pizza looked like something I typically pick up in the frozen food section and feed my kids for a quick lunch. What's more, it was overcooked. The sandwich my wife got was okay, nothing special, and the charcuterie board was essentially a few pieces of pepperoni, a couple rows of square cheese, Ritz crackers, and grapes... We came here for Memorial Day weekend- staff was pretty nice. Our room was on the first floor and the people upstairs walked back n fourth late at night.. it sounded like they were in the room with us. I believe they had a whirlpool upstairs and every time it ran we heard it as if the tub was in our room. Also our sink was backed up and the toilet seat was loose. Maintenance was pretty quick to fix it though. Not sure if I would stay here again as the walls are extremely thin. read more

I LOVE this hotel. I stay here just about every other weekend. I always get a room with a whirlpool. Usually I'm always skeptical with hotel jacuzzis. I've had some bad experiences, but every single time I've been there, they are SPOTLESS. Every time, I fill up the tub, and run the jets once it's filled and check if the water turns cloudy or dirty at all. Never once had it been dirty. The rooms are always clean. Never have that mildew smell a lot of hotels with jacuzzis get. It's by far my favorite hotel. I feel like you get alot for the price. It's definitely one of the more affordable hotels but it's not cheap inside if that makes sense. They have a dining area, a small coffee counter and snack counter. They always fully stocked on snacks, and have a pretty decent variety. There is a microwave in the lobby, and the rooms have a small fridge. There is also a full bar. Recently I've noticed they were making upgrades to the hotel which makes this 10/10 hotel even better. The staff is beyond excellent. They are always so nice, so helpful and welcoming. They talk to you while they check you in. It doesn't feel like they're robots. The cleaning staff is phenomenal as well. Everyone is so polite and nice. This hotel is a great weekend getaway for yourself, or to share with friends, or significant other. I highly recommend it. read more

Girlfriend bought a night out at the casino for my birthday, as part of that experience, she rented a room in this hotel for the proximity to foxwoods, as well as a couples spa experience at the hotel itself. We were supposed to receive a bottle of bubbly and strawberries during our check in. 1st sign something was wrong, was that those items were not ready, was told to check back later, as well as we'll get a phone call. When we got back to hotel that night, the night desk had no idea about the strawberries or champagne that was supposed to be for us as well. Went to room and dropped off our bags. Noticed that room wasn't anything special, basic bed, very small TV, think it was only 32 in. Under tv was small square desk, which was falling apart. Literally wobbled worse than a high rise in an earthquake. Went to use bathroom, and tripped on threshold as it was on of the cheap metal ones, which was already bent upwards . Once in bathroom, noticed a 1 person shower stall and blown light bulbs. As well as that, the tiles on floor were loose with the grout falling out and broken/cracked tiles creaking underfoot. Was able to sleep like meh for the night, and when waking up in morning recieved text and a phone call about the couples massage. They could no longer honor our massage as someone had "family emergency/sickness" and couldn't show up. Normally that wouldn't bother me, but the fact that they were still offering us the same strawberries and champagne to do 2 individual sessions...wait...if they couldn't give us those items beforehand, how can they offer them now? That was supposed to be waiting for us already, so if it wasn't, didn't they know someone was gonna cancel our appt the day before? How can they offer us the same items now as an apology that we were supposed to have recieved already... Definitely made us think they knew they were gonna cancel the couples appointments the following day and just decided to not tell us so we would spend the money to stay in the hotel. (The couples spa treatment was only reason we stayed there anyway) So we declined the offer and left. Upon checkout we told the front desk clerk of the issues with the room and only response was a shoulder shrug and that "we'll be replacing the furniture eventually" Place Definitely was not worth the $300 + per night price tag. We stayed here because we saw a show at Foxwoods. Price was reasonable if the hotel was updated. We took the shuttle twice. Only about 10-15 seats inside the shuttle, so it's a long wait. First of all, LONG line to check-in. We were standing in line for close to 15 minutes with 2-3 receptionists. The room was extremely outdated. Old furniture, loud air conditioner, ok mattress, etc. As we were headed to our room late at night, the hallway smelled like marijuana. And, of course, the smell wafted into our room. I couldn't breathe for a little bit. It was very disgusting. It's supposedly a "smoke-free" hotel.... Sure. Overall, I wouldn't stay there again. The staff was very friendly and they offer a free shuttle service back and forth to the casino. We booked the Presidential Suite. It was very spacious, large jacuzzi tub off to the side of the bed, fireplace and dining table. They have speakers built in the ceilings and you can control your music from a setting on the wall. They have a full service Spa and an indoor heated swimming pool. One thing I will say... I think the rooms are a little ornate & dated and should be updated to a more modern design, but aside from that, we enjoyed our stay! We will definitely visit again soon! read more

I went the Thursday before Good Friday and was very pleased with the experience. I bought a Groupon and checkin was very quick and easy. The young man at the front desk was very personable and recommended restaurants at Foxwoods when we told him the types of food we were in the mood for. We were told the complimentary shuttle left every hour, next one at 6 then 7...so we said we'd never be ready for 6 and he told us to just come out and let them know if we were ready at 6:30 and they'd bring us then! We were ready before 6:30 and the shuttle brought us to Foxwoods at about 6:25! The drive is fewer than 10 minutes long and a great alternative to driving if you'll be drinking while out. The room was clean, had a flat screen tv on the wall, mini fridge, 2 queen beds and high ceilings. We weren't actually in the room all that much so I didn't notice thin walls, and we had the AC on which may have muffled any sounds anyway. I found the beds and pillows to he very comfy, and I mean I found the beds more comfy than Foxwoods and WAY more comfy than the awful rock hard beds at Mohegan, and those rooms are 3-5X the cost of this room. I'd definitely stay here again! I didn't use the pool and don't typically when I'm only staying for a night, so I can't speak to that. But $400-500 for a room at the casino or $112 for a place with free shuttle service to the casino? I'll take it!!! There is free coffee in the morning and a restaurant on site where you can sit and have breakfast if you'd like. read more

Great lighting in the hallways, it gives it a really updated feel, and the Italian themed decor makes you feel like you're in a super fancy casino without all the chaos. Planning a last minute get-away between jobs, I was looking for affordable accommodations near-to Foxwoods. With exorbitant room pricing at the casino itself, I was thrilled to come across this hotel online. For $109.00 a night (with an additional discount code for hotels.com on top of that) I reserved a Venetian Suite for a couple of nights. They have a couple different options for rooms. The Sicilian Suites are pretty much like your standard hotel rooms. The Venetian Suite where I stayed had an in-room jacuzzi, flat screen television, free wi-fi, a ceiling fan, mini fridge, and tempur-pedic bed. The Presidential Suites sound very similar to the Venetians but can come with a fireplace, etc. to make it a bit more special. I think the Venetian Suite is the way to go in my opinion. I had plenty of space, the furnishings were nicely decorated. It felt much fancier and decadent than many places I have stayed. The bed was extremely comfortable... The mattress hugged me perfectly and the linens were clean and soft. The in-room jacuzzi was wonderful! Very relaxing, easy to use, and accessible at all hours of the day! My only gripe about this is that at 2am one night the person above me decided to use the tub (and rightfully so!). Unfortunately, it sounded like a jet engine from my room below for the duration of its use. Thankfully, I packed some ear plugs so no harm no foul... but for my roommate, a good chunk of sleep was lost. The walls do seem to be thin. I understand that they have a strict quiet hours policy, but when animated conversation or even television programs permeate the walls, there isn't much any policy can do about that. The staff were very nice and accommodating. Everything was clean, I felt comfortable, and I was happy with the price I paid. I would stay here again for future overnights to Foxwoods but would definitely require my earplugs to ensure a good night's sleep. The hotel's free limo shuttle to the casino is worth it in itself if you are planning late nights to the casino (parking is a nightmare in the evening over there). Starbucks in the lobby, Dunkin Donuts down the street. Some soundproofing and you'd have yourself a 5-star hotel! read more

The Bellissimo Grande has been my go to spot when staying overnight at Foxwoods and rightfully so! Great location just outside of Foxwoods Resort Casino. They offer free shuttle service to and from the Grand Pequot Hotel at Foxwoods, every 15 minutes via two passenger vans until 2:45 AM (Friday and Saturday Nights) This makes getting into the casino quick and easy. We met both drivers on this Friday night and they were both very friendly. Because this hotel is only allowed to drop off at this location - be prepared for the time it's going to take to hoof it over to the other two Casinos (through the Tanger Outlets). Or, if you are with someone who can't walk long distances - call Foxwoods ahead and they will reserve a wheel chair for you. (I've done this for elderly family members that wanted to go to concerts there but really could not walk it - they also offer scooter rentals - for either option just call ahead to make things go quickly) So, not only do you get the shuttle service but this hotel actually offers quite a bit in the way of amenities that make the reasonable pricing and perfect location even more appealing. Heated indoor swimming pool, spa, restaurant bar / bistro with room service until 12:45 PM, snacks and drinks available in the lobby, Tazo coffee shop. I reserved a king room with jetted tub for a girls night out and was not disappointed! Comfortable king bed with 4 large, fluffy pillows, very large bathroom with double vanity, corner shower, toilet and huge jetted tub! Plenty of clothes hanging space and drawers if you like to unpack. The location of the toilet right at the jetted tub was a bit odd but other than that - this bathroom was definitely relaxing! (The tv to enjoy while soaking was an unexpected bonus!) Our 1st floor, off the lobby location at first had me concerned - but I have to be honest - we didn't exactly get to bed early but we did not hear any Lobby noise from inside the room and both slept easily through the night! We ordered room service while we got ready to go out to Foxwoods and the food was delicious and delivered to our room within 25 minutes (10 minutes sooner than expected) by a friendly kitchen staff member. We ordered simple items - steak and cheese sub and a bruschetta appetizer and both were tasty and well presented - the included chips, condiments, silverware and quick turnaround time made this a no brainer! The bathroom tile grout looks like it had never been cleaned. I didn't try the food. The thought of it scared me a bit, as it's barista style. There is no complimentary breakfast. The spa is totally overpriced as well. I wouldn't use their WiFi if you do stay. It's not properly secured according to my son who is a professional in I.T. The walls are super thin. We had a toddler in the room beside us who cried a lot. I wouldn't stay here again. I'd go to mystic or another area. For starters, I've stayed in countless hotels. From business travel, personal travel and my daughters hectic competition travel schedule, I feel like I'm always in a hotel. Bellissimo Grande, hands down has the best staff I've ever encountered. I called often with questions before I arrived as I had a 5 night stay and a pretty busy schedule in the area so I needed things to be on point. Every call was extremely pleasant and helpful. The only name I remember is Madison, because we went to the same college, but they were all phenomenal. The hotel is ok. From the reviews I'm reading, people who are spending beer money are looking for fine wine and that's not what this is. I stayed Sunday - Friday at $100 a night. I had to be at Mohegan Sun from 8am - 10pm every day so just needed a place to sleep and shower. That's what I got. The one time I ordered breakfast at the hotel, I was surprised at how good it was. The location works. It's on the same road as Foxwoods, just a few miles down and took me about 20 mins to get to Mohegan Sun (all back roads). I needed a computer mouse and found a WalMart about 20 mins in the other direction in Westerly, Rhode Island, right next to the beaches. Finally, I wouldn't stay at BG on a romantic vaca, or on a party trip with my friends. It's not that type of place. The walls are thin and the average guest seemed to be in the older age bracket so they don't tolerate a lot of noise. I knew from the moment we walked in I was in trouble, but we were staying here as part of a corporate event that needed overflow rooms from what foxwoods had to offer. In the hallways the dated wallpaper was peeling off the walls. As soon as we walked into the room, I was disgusted. The carpet was covered in stains and the bedding and window treatments were incredibly old and looked dirty. My husband and I looked for availability at other local hotels to pay out of pocket. As we both were grossed out from the moment we unlocked our door. But there was nothing available. So we were stuck. The walls were so thin we could hear the people above us all night. Paid over $350 for the BEST room they have to offer. immediately upon entering the room noticed stains on bedding comforter and sheets. all furniture was trashed drink rings on every surface. requested bedding to be changed while we where out. came back 6 hours later to the SAME stained bedding. there "hot tub" is nothing more then an oversized bathtub with like 1 jet to move the water around.. if you find yourself in this place take pictures of everything because they have a history of charging people HEAVY ( $1,000+) cleaning and or damage fees. this place went way way down hill from what it used to be.. would NEVER stay again.. read more
