Came to celebrate a friend's birthday here. I don't typically venture out and try vegan/ vegetarian only restaurant but I am glad we did this time. I was able to easily book reservations online. There was an options for dinning and bellona cantina. Once we arrived, the dinning area is small & intimate. After enquiring about bellona cantina, I was advised that we can be seated in the basement level, the menu is $25.00/3 course meal. We headed downstairs. This was a much more open area, along the wall they displayed shaved and wine bottles, there was a tv. I was glad we opted to sit there, it was quieter. 3 course meal with that price, you really can't go wrong. For Apps: bruschetta, it was fresh, I am not the biggest fan of goat cheese, but I ended up enjoying it. We tried two sliders (meatball& mushroom) the meatball sliders was indeed very flavourful. The fact it had no meat was surprising. For our main, you have a selection of pastas and pizza. Tried the pizza arrabiatia and my goodness, it may have appeared plain, but this was pizza was a tad bit spicy, the sauce was just enough the crust was not too doughy. This was my favourite dish. Dessert: brownie with ice cream was my favourite. The tiramisu came in this cute jar. Overall, we all left pleasantly surprised and fully satisfied with our meals. Our server was delightful, she asked question to the chef on our behalf and checked on ur regularly.

The space was cute and had a nice ambiance, but it was pretty cold sitting by the door. The food was absolutely delicious, but keep in mind that the menu is what you get--they don't seem to accommodate special requests. Our waitress was fairly unpleasant, and we waited about 20 minutes before she even came to our table. After that, she barely checked in on us. Overall, great food, but the service and experience could definitely be better.

(We ate at the new location on College) Service was super friendly and attentive. The owners were in full sight of helping to serve and cook. We had the 3 course Cantina menu. The food was good for a night out with the husband but not anniversary night worthy. The appetizer and main was good as expected but the Tiramisu was more non-soaked cake, not lady fingers, than I'm used to. As vegetarians, we always want to promote veggie restos and I highly recommend this one. I will go back again.

We went there when they just opened and absolutely loved the vegan dishes. I would have given it a 5star then. Between April and June I had ordered their blue cheese pear pizza couple of time and loved it. Recently in September we went and had their brunch tasting menu on the weekend. Food and service was very good but I'd say first time was the best. My guess is the food quality took a slight impact as it got busier. It's still definitely worth checking out!

I had a very good dining experience at Bellona on Sunday lunch. My family and I had Peach and Gorgonzola salad, mushroom cream pasta, eggplant parmigiana and Tiramisu (plus orange juice for my son). Peach and Gorgonzola salad was very refreshing and nicely marinated with dressing. Eggplant parmigiana was delicious and its portion was very generous. Mushroom cream pasta was ok, its portion was a bit small. Tiramisu was a hit! It was the best Tiramisu I've ever tried. We paid approx. $100 including tips and taxes which is very reasonable for the quality of the food. Service was very fast and our server was super friendly.

Amazing food, ambience, service -- this place has it all. Even if you aren't vegan/vegetarian, you won't miss a thing. Delicious and hearty, the meals are crafted with love, Bellona's secret ingredient! My family loves to dine here at this quaint spot. Downstairs in the Cantina, you'll find a whole new vibe where it shifts from warm and communal to cool, dark and loungey. My favourite dish is La Segreta Ravioli!

The warm hospitality immediately made us forget it was the coldest night of the year as we ventured into this new plant inspired kitchen on Jane. From the cocktails to the eggplant sliders and salads to start the night, and homemade pasta and pizza to keep us going. We had no room for the tiramisu but ordered it anyways because everything tasted great. The highlight for me was the spiced tofu, roasted garlic and artichoke pizza ... and the tiramisu ... and the blue cheese Alfredo ... can a review have three favourites?

Fabulous! Try the Calzone. Messy but delicious. Very friendly staff. Intimate, tiny restaurant serving vegetarian delights.

This continues the 2025 alphabet series, C is for Cafe Landwer. On Tuesday, 6/3/25, we went to St. Lawrence Market; see my B is for Buster Sea Cove. Seems like we happened to go alphabetical for lunch/brunch as the next day Wed., 6/4/25. This place had good reviews. So, we got on TTC to Osgoode station and was a very close walk. It said established in 1919, so we thought it's a good sign it's been in business over a century; although not this location specifically. Their history in the 20th century was that they started in Berlin, Germany in 1919, but they were a Jewish family who ended up immgrating to Israel in 1933, opening their store there, and expanded locations throughout Israel. Their history in Toronto & North America (including some in the US) is much more recent since opening in 2017. Unfortunately, my closest is New York City; none in Maryland or DC area. This location is in busy downtown Toronto. We sat outside on their big patio area as the weather was warm and could enjoy the view of the buildings, people, cars, etc. Server was friendly answering our questions. I ended up getting an egg benedict with salmon in a croissant. It was creative and delicious take on egg benedict. The only issue was it was messy to eat in the croissant, but I didn't care as it was so delicious. My girlfriend got a Belgian waffle with blueberries, whipped cream, etc. It was unique and very good & sweet too as I tried a bite. Overall, this was a 5-star experience with great food, service, & atmosphere.

Service: It was not great. We sat for a while and no one took attention (we were outside and they were busy but no excuse for them -- they should do better). We had folks come in and out and were somewhat nonchalant and not attentive. Food: This was the great part of the experience. - Berries and Granola with Greek Yogurt: My brother in law got this an he devoured it and said it was great. - Farmers Breakfast: My wife got this and she LOVED it. She went back to get their Halwah Latte (which she said was just OK) - Egg white Omlette Skillet: I customized my food and it was good -- for reference I've had better only because the cheese was feta and it was unclear that this was the only option as I don't love feta. Also I'm pretty sure while I asked for egg whites there was normal egg (i.e., eggs). If you order egg white make sure the server hears you. They screwed this up for me. This is why I'm giving it three stars -- I could have made a stink but didn't think it was necessary to do so. All in all -- I'd recommend this spot to folks but don't go there thinking the service will be great.

We ordered medium spicy for the papaya salad and it only had a slight kick. I wished the salad portion was more as it was gone pretty quickly. It comes with shrimp chips, pork rinds, and 2 small bundles of rice noodles. The dried shrimp in the salad was very chewy though, which made it a bit less enjoyable. I ended up picking them all out. We ordered spicy for the pad gra prow but it wasn't spicy at all. I think you can ask for the Thai chilis/ Thai chili fish sauce thing on the side but we decided we were fine with no spicy. Unfortunately the crispy pork was not crispy at all and was also very chewy. Overall it was still delicious! The Khao soi mightve honestly been the least favorite, but it was still good. It is on the sweeter side. The egg noodles were cooked al dente and had a nice chew. Sometimes when I get Khao soi it ends up being too heavy or creamy, but the curry for this one was thinner and easy to eat. The shrimp was the best part - super fresh and bouncy. In the end I thought the portions and quality were good. The service was also super nice, and it was impressive to see our waitress cover so many tables. The restrooms were also clean.

Alex, one of the owners, introduced himself shortly after we were seated, offering a warm welcome that immediately made us feel at home. The cocktail program is creative, with a thoughtful lineup of drinks, beers, and wines. We tried two cocktails--both delicious, though quite small for the price. A bit of a Toronto theme, it seems. We chose the six-course vegan prix fixe. Each plate was a true piece of art, crafted with precision and intention. You get to experience a range of flavors and techniques, though the dishes lean more toward tasting portions than filling plates. We left a bit hungry, and the pricing felt high for the amount of food. The best way to think of it is as investing in edible art--beautiful, expressive, and memorable, though not necessarily hearty. I'm not sure I'd rush back based on value alone, but I'm genuinely happy to see a vegan restaurant like this thriving. Grateful for the chance to experience it.
