One of the lovely dresses I tried on.

Unexpected gem with loads of wedding dresses of many styles, inclusive size options, a huge formal section with mothers dresses and flower girl and ring bearer clothing as well!! I enjoyed my experience and I think you would too!

What a wonderful experience! This bridal shop has a great selection of wedding dresses as well as a ton of other formal dresses. Prices are extremely reasonable. I noticed a lot of the dresses are new with tags! The hospitality here is unlike any other store. You can tell Angie loves her job and is truly wanting to help you find your dream dress. Highly recommend checking it out! Ask for Angie. She's the best!

My intentions in writing this review is so that management and corporate will see this and…read morehopefully improve on their process and turn around time for ordering and renting suits. This is a late review, as, this pertains to my experience with Al's for my wedding weekend which was in late October 2020. Now that the steam coming from my ears have worn off, and I've had a bit of time to adjust to married life and calm down a bit, it's safe to say, I can write a constructive review. So, for this store, the experience was pleasant, but I wouldn't say that it was great. I interacted most with Quentin (Assistant Store Mgr., I believe), and the store manager (Priscilla). My initial wedding date was April 2020, but had to be postponed due to COVID-19. Much of the communication then became me taking the initiative to call them and follow up with them regarding the suit rentals for the groomsmen, and any changes/updates due to COVID-19. I hadn't heard from the store in months, and only when I started to get the ball rolling were communications happening back and forth. We ended up having to postpone our wedding to October 2020. We ordered the Fantasy-Midnight Blue Tux (slim fit), but opted out of the vest and the bow tie, as I didn't prefer the vest and had ordered a specific bowtie from a different store. I acknowledge that we ordered the slim fit, however, we really tried our best to work with the groomsmen (as they all lived out of state) to go and get fitted asap, and despite having to switch up the groomsmen party at the last minute, due to COVID, we/I made sure to provide all the measurements asap. With that being said, Quentin, Priscilla, and any store associates, should have informed us that the suits tend to run small(er), and despite the measurements being provided, maybe we should size up a bit. I say this, because once we picked up the suits, none of the suits fit any of our groomsmen, they all ran too small. I think poor training and lack of knowledge definitely played a roll here. As a result, once we arrived to Austin, TX to the Lakeline Mall location, we encountered the biggest nightmare. PIcked up the suits, none of them fit, and then they ended up having to overnight us suits and pants the MORNING OF the wedding straight to our venue. Come to find out, after the wedding was over, they had overnighted us black pants instead of Midnight Blue. Of course, all of this will be appear in my wedding photos, and of course it's too late. I just wanted to reiterate that the process to order/receive suit rentals needs to change. Way too close, with little flexibility, and ultimately created a disaster for our big day. I honestly would NOT recommend using Al's Formal wear for wedding(s). Maybe prom, or if your renting just for yourself, it might be acceptable, but not for a large party such as a wedding.

After they misplaced our appointment booking and then canceled our fitting the day of, I started calling around to see who could get my entire party in and fitted in such a short time. The consultant, Prescilla, was amazing. She told me what she needed from us, gave us clear dates to avoid additional costs, provided a clear cost, and made sure we had a number for all the other groomsmen so they can easily get measured and place their orders. She provided the best customer service and I am excited that we have one more piece of the wedding done!

My husband recently had to go to Men's Wearhouse to rent a suit for a wedding he was in, and it was nowhere near the class, organization, and service this store has. Most recently, my dad noticed they had a $99 sale, so while my parents were in town, we ventured in there. My dad has a bad experience at the Woodlands store (store associate didn't want to assist at all), but he wanted to come in this one. Cesar helped us with anything and everything we needed. He measured my dad, searched high and low for shirts he wanted in his size, and provided excellent customer service. The store isn't cheap, but their sales absolutely make it worthwhile. If my husband had a suit-and-tie job, I'm sure we'd mostly shop here. If you're a bride to be and are looking for options with the groom and groomsmen, seriously consider Joseph A. Bank. This location will take care of you.

We rented 8 tuxedos from Al's for my friends wedding in The Woodlands and not a single one was correct. It's not like they were cheap either, these were supposedly the best Al's had. Not only were the tuxes ill fitted, the quality was horrible. Then to make matters worse their customer service was unapologetic, rude and unable to resolve the issues. Specifically my pants and shirt were too big. I was told by their staff that rentals are "not fitted" so you have to live with the size being off, I have rented enough tuxes in my lifetime to know this should not be the case. They said they would order replacements, I picked up the replacement and the legs were hemmed so short they looked like Capri pants. With no time to repair them I had to wear the pants that were too large. This was just one example of the myriad of problems the wedding party had at Al's. Even the pockets on the jackets did not match. We all needed to buy extra items from other stores to make everything work. Luckily for you there are many places to rent formal wear. So it should be easy for you to avoid Al's incompetent staff and poor quality products. I wish we could have because the bride and groom were unnecessarily stressed out as a result of Al's poor service.

We had been looking forward to coming in here for the first time, as we saw the store had a wide variety of really nice suits, shoes and shirts. We came today to get my son fitted for a few items. At entering we were greeted by a really sweet younger Asian woman and she asked what we were looking for. We let her know that this was our first time and what we were looking for so she started guiding us over to the open shirt wall to see my son's size. Everything was going great UNTIL another worker came over. An older African American woman swiftly walked up and snatched the shirt that the Asian worker was holding and said "uh uh, that's not what we do.. we need to measure him." We were all taken by surprise and I can't put into words all the things that happened next. It was a whirlwind of the older lady demeaning the younger one and rushing through measuring son. When the younger worker would try to speak the older lady would snap back quickly and contradict what she said and then she ran off, got a shirt and said "ok are you ready to check out?!" It felt as if she was rushing for us to leave! I told her know we are here taking our time to look around. She then said well what else do you need? (But rushed and with attitude). I let her know that we came to look around but were looking for ties, pants, shoes...and she interrupted and then picked out a tie after seeing a swatch of color we were looking to compliment. She kept rushing and wanting to check out... but I didn't understand why we were rushed. Finally, I said firmly that we were not in a rush... We were just looking around and taking our time to see what else you have. She seemed offended , although I said it nicely, and she said she would just take the shirt she picked to the checkout. We were glad she was gone! In the middle of all that, the younger worker had walked off because she'd been disrespectfully booted out of the conversation. We continued to walk around and look for ties and socks and even different shirts. We then found a shirt that we like better. It was still a white cotton shirt, but a higher thread count from the Reserve section. Then a third worker came... She was a more mature Caucasian lady. She asked if we needed help and we said no that we were just looking around and seeing which shirts we liked better. She was very pleasant and offered help if we needed it and walked away. We were comparing the shirts, and I took the Reserve shirt apart to let my son feel the difference and make sure it fit. We were 99% sure that we were going to keep this shirt as it was better quality and threadcount than the initial shirt we were given. All of a sudden, the African-American lady came up and said very loudly in front of other customers " uh uh ma'am, we don't open up shirts here". (However, we were at a table where they're clearly had been shirts opened up because the plastic collars had been taken out and pins were on the table... Those were previously there before us. ) also I think she thought she was talking to a five year-old kid the way she was trying to correct me. I let her know that we wanted to try this on to make sure he liked it. And she said no we don't do that. It's the same shirt that I gave you. I let her know that it in fact was not the same shirt. It was a different shirt . She contradicted me and said your shirt is at the front. I already put it there.(with an attitude.). I let her know that I had taken back the shirt that she gave at the checkout and it was with us, and I showed her the difference in the quality of the shirt. I said this is not the same shirt. It is a total different thread account and it's not see-through. She said no, and then she saw the shirts next to each other and she was going to try to prove me wrong, but then realized that they were actually two different shirts . Then she said oh well anyway we don't open up shirts to try on. I then ask her, so now that I've opened it you're not going to allow my son to try to try this on? She then said I guess it's OK but we don't do that . We proceeded to try on the shirt and we ended up purchasing the shirt, under shirts and a tie. I honestly did not even want to stay there to make a purchase because she was so rude and disrespectful not only to myself, but to her coworker. However, my son really liked what we had picked out so we proceeded with the sale. Unfortunately, she had to check us out and she not once looked me in my eye. However, she thanked my son for the purchase and wished him well. The store has a lot of great selections, the price is not super expensive and it's very close to our home. However, due to the expanse with this woman, I would not want to come back here again. I don't know if she was having an off day or if that was her regular attitude, but I truly felt sorry for her coworker.

After this week, I will never step foot in this store. This started on Tuesday night, I looked online to see what time they closed and it said 8PM. I got off of work and walked in around 7:10, started to browse and saw an outfit on the wall that I needed, I asked an older woman working there if she could get it down for me and she did. She went back to sweeping the store in a hurry, and as she was sweeping I over heard her telling another customer that was with her daughter that one of her associates "didn't show up to work today and that she was having to close the store down at 7:30 today." As I'm still browsing she abruptly approached me and asked "Are you going to buy? Because I'm closing at 7:30." I told her I would buy it if it fits, and that I needed to try it on. So she lead me to the dressing room and I tried it on. While I was trying it on, she was rushing the other woman as well, and the customer told her that she had driven here all the way from Humble, she clearly was not happy either. The outfit was too small, so I ended up leaving. I didn't get too upset because from my understanding this woman was probably short handed and I just planned to return the next day. Although the manner this woman approached me was very unprofessional. Wednesday evening, around 7:15 PM again, I walked in and saw the same older woman working and another younger girl working. I thought to myself, good now I can shop without being rushed. I make my rounds and picked out a few things to try on, and asked the younger girl if she could get me a bigger size on the same outfit that was hanging on the wall, as she's doing so, I tell her that I was in the night before and I was basically rushed out by that older woman because she was closing the store down at 7:30. She didn't really react to it and just said "Yeah we always close the dressing rooms at 7:30 so that we can get out of here right at 8PM." I'm thinking to myself, wow. I've never heard of a clothing store that closes the dressing room early, only to benefit the people working there. I mean working retail, you close at a certain time, and that means the dressing room too? Am I wrong? So I continue to look and here comes the older woman again, telling me "Are you buying?! because we close the dressing room at 7:30." At this point I'm pissed. I tell her, "Look you did this to me yesterday, and I came back today, your sign on the front door says you close at 8PM. I've shopped here for many years and I've never known anything about you not allowing people to try on clothes at a certain time." She snapped back at me and pointed to a small hand written piece of paper taped on the wall near the dressing room that said something about them closing it at 7:30. Then she said "You must not shop here that much if you didn't know, there's a sign right there, and smirked and just kept pointing at the paper." She blew me off, she was extremely rude and disrespectful to me. So I go inside of the dressing room and I'm so upset that I didn't even bother to try on the clothes and told my daughter let's just leave. I kept my cool and left, I took a picture of the entrance door. What gets me is their return policy, even if you have a receipt you can NOT return or exchange a dress if you buy it. Which means if I walk in there at 7:35 and I'm not allowed to try it on, if I go home and it doesn't fit me, I'm screwed out of my money. Someone explain to me how fair that is to a consumer? It just doesn't make sense. I'm not the type of person to ever linger around shopping after a store closes either because I've worked retail for over 15 years and I know how frustrating that can be. To me this is just bad business. We are the ones keeping that business open by purchasing their clothes, but if they continue to have this type of outlook on running a business, it's not going to last. She was beyond rude, no sense of what customer service is. I had an encounter a few months ago with another older thinner woman working there that was chewing out one of her employees in front of customers and that was very unprofessional as well. I don't know if anything can even be done by my complaining, since it might be privately owned. But I will say that I do NOT recommend anyone spending their money there. I much rather take my business elsewhere. That's a nice shopping center and they shouldn't treat customers that way.
