Love Bell's!!! I grew up in Toccoa, and whenever I go back for a visit (usually once a year or so), stopping by Bell's is a must! My go-to for the past few decades has always been the fried fish sandwich with pickles, but you can't go wrong with the fried chicken either! And don't forget to order a Sweet Tea!! read more

1 star because our chicken was hot. Our family of 4 decided, on a whim, to eat here. Absolutely lousy service! At least 4 groups of people (4-6) came in after us, got menus before us, ordered, ate and left before we got our food. I am not kidding. The wait staff seem to know all these people by name. They sure spent enough time standing around their tables talking to them. We ordered and about an hour and 10 minutes later we got our food. Bells is known for their chicken, so that was hot and it was good. Our side dishes were all cold. Cold fried okra sitting in grease, yum. Turnup greens lukewarm in a dish that felt like it just came out of the freezer. A baked potato that would not melt butter. I had to find our waitperson several times to get ketchup, pepper vinegar, more napkins and lastly, I had to run her down to get the bill. I have been to Bells many times in spite of it's horrible decor. I usually order either burger basket or chicken livers. Last visit may be truly my last visit. I picked up my first liver and hot grease just poured out, down my fork. I squeezed the grease out of a few livers that was all I could swallow, literally. Not going back. read more

Multiple members of my family have gluten intolerances/celiac so it can be hard finding places to eat, especially when we are out of town. We were passing through and trying to find a place that could cater to our needs. Hamburger meat (and meat in general) on its own is usually 100% gluten free, so we thought we would try out Bell's. Once we went, the lady informed us they didn't have anything that was gluten free. When we double checked to see why the hamburger meat wasn't (just to see if there was cross contamination issues or anything) they immediately got a little short and said how "we already told you there's nothing, I don't know!". As we were considering risking it or not we overheard one of the waitresses talking about our situation with another costumer. I don't like to leave such poor reviews I just want to make a point to this restaurant that it doesn't hurt to have a little more patience with people (especially when the issue at hand is out of their control). read more

Food here was pretty good! Hubby had Cheesesteak with Mac N Cheese and I had burger and fries with slaw. I don't like slaw, so I gave it to hubby. He said it was really good. Prices were great! Our two meals plus tea and water came to under $17! Can't beat that! Service was friendly and food came quick. read more

This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants! Bell's has the BEST fried chicken I have ever ate. I grew up coming to Bell's with my grandparents, and still continue to come! The food I have gotten is very good, but I give it only two stars because everything else was horrible. I have been to the restaurant many times in the past, I don't go anymore, and each time I have gone I have experienced horrible customer service. Great food! My wife and I came through town to see the Curahee Military Museum. Based on yelp and trip advisor reviews we decided to give Bells a try. We like to patronize locally owned restaurants and we were not disappointed! Great fried chicken and killer mashed potatoes. Couple next to us were eating burgers and they looked really good. They have a huge selection of items including daily fresh vegetables. Good ol southern hospitality we seldom see in Tampa. It's an old place but clean. And at 55 I felt youthful. Absolutely some of the best food in Toccoa. It's home cooking at its best! The meatloaf is to die for. The fried chicken is the bomb. The pit ham is great. The hamburgers are hand formed and cooked to perfection. The grilled chicken breast is one of the best I have ever eaten. The onion rings are delicious. The ground steak is ground round and is perfectly cooked to your desired doneness. The side items and salads are very good. And to top it all off, you are treated like family. Love Bell's! My favorites are the smothered chicken (grilled chicken topped with BBQ sauce, bacon, cheese, and tomatoes) and chicken strips. The chicken gravy is heavenly! I have been eating at this place since I moved here 2 years ago food is always awesome lots of choices and for the most part always right the only issue i have is that some of the staff is not very friendly at times it is like u are a bother to them and they just want you to order eat and get out i don't really understand that is there job to make people feel welcome and a few of them drop the ball the only reason I keep going back is for the food for the most part it is all made fresh to order and taste amazing and the price is good also for what u get i recommend the double bacon cheese burger it is just like grand pa made it on the grill real down home taste and quality read more
