I found Jasmin via some IG stalking. A few of my girlfriends had taken some classes with her (macarons and cake decorating) and 15 minutes later I was drawn in by her intricate cake and cookie designs. It was pretty serendipitous because I was in process of planning my daughters first birthday party. Once I decided on a theme I sent Jasmin a request for quote via her website and she quickly responded. I quickly outlined my vision and sent some sample images to her. Before I knew it, Jasmin different sketches for me to review for approval. Having never planned a party for a one year old before, Jasmin was a wealth of knowledge, she offered suggestions of serving sizes and flavors that would bode well with large crowds, etc. She has a list of various flavors she suggests for each dessert and even will create custom flavors. Jasmin was so responsive with all of my questions and worked with me to get extra creative to customize her baked creations to fit the theme of the party. My daughters theme was Tokidoki's donutella. Jasmin created a beautiful 3 tiered fondant cake, a donut shaped smash cake with buttercream frosting, 3 dozens of "donut" macarons and several designed cookies that she individually packaged for me. Jasmin offers the most ridiculous delivery service, $7 to anywhere in Seattle - are you kidding me? I would have had to bribe my husband with more than that.. We agreed on a date and time during the official booking and the day of, she arrived at 11am on the dot! My guests could not get over the details and intricacy of all of the desserts. Everything was just too pretty to eat and it hurt my soul a bit to cut into everything but everything was simply amazing. read more

Jasmin leads a WONDERFUL French macarons making class virtually, if that is the only way to access her. (We live in the SF Bay Area) My friend took it last month and highly recommended it to my daughter and me. She does it over Zoom so she can interact with you and check your work while you see exactly what everything should look like and ask questions as needed. Instructions were very clear and Jasmin sends you a recommended purchase list but also helps you work with whatever equipment you already have at home. This is a pretty awesome find - a low-key, hands-on, very informational baking class for small groups. I signed up with a friend for the Eclair Class, which was held at LaReve Pastry Shop in Queen Anne, after it had closed for the day. There were just six of us, so everyone got loads of chances to do things, rather than just watch as in some classes. We were divided into pairs, and after the initial demo of making the pastry cream, we all set to work making the pastry itself. Jasmin is really friendly and informative, and came by to check on progress, offering tips on how to pipe properly, or the texture something should be at a given stage. I loved her examples - play-doh, taffy. Yeah, I can remember that next time I do this. She doesn't work from recipes in the class, instead wanting everyone to get a feel for texture and technique, so the recipes she'll email after class will make sense. We had loads of questions and she answered them all very well. The final result? Well, the eclairs weren't the prettiest, sadly, but they were mighty tasty - the prettiness will come with time and practice. Fortunately, I feel I can easily master these pastries after taking this class. I'm looking forward to more instruction with Jasmin. Pro Tip: Sign up early! Jasmin is the best! I don't really remember how i found her on Instagram but I'm so glad I did! I've taken about 3 classes from her so far and all of them have been amazing! Jasmin is super great at explaining everything and I like that the classes are fairly small so she can come by each student to guide and help them out during difficult parts. She is super nice and the plus is she provides you with recipes and instructions via email after the class so you can recreate them at home! So I have always co spidered my self the king of Macaroons . I have always thought that my best Macaroons were behind me, left in my memories of strolling France. Man was I wrong! I was told to give hers a try and they did not disappoint. I joined the Macaroon of the month club and the theme was milkshakes and smoothies. Every single o e was delicious but one of them have stolen my heart. The single best macaroon I have ever had in my life (I've had a lot of them) is her pineapple coconut one. My friend took me to a macaron class with Jasmin, and IT. WAS. AWESOME. There are pastries and wine for your consumption. Each person then got to choose which unique flavor of macaron s/he wanted to own. Then we got to work. You get a set of instructions on paper and they're very clear. Jasmin is clearly knowledgable in her art. She wouldn't just talk about each step; she had us touch, taste, smell, and feel what she was explaining. I am the most klutzy cook/baker but Jasmin totally told me to embrace it. She is a fun and energetic teacher. There is also a photographer who captures all the fun. I was so shocked to have produced some damn good looking macarons despite the amount of batter in my hair and on my apron. Hands down the best macarons I've EVER had (maybe I'm biased because I poured my blood, sweat, and tears into them). What fun! I'm a little bit obsessed with French macarons. Mostly I enjoy eating them, but lately I I had gotten it into my head that I needed to learn how to make them myself. I knew enough about these tasty treats to know that as easy as the online recipes may look, there is a certain magic to making these come out right. I first heard about Bells Pastries because I follow @seattlefood on Instagram. Looking at the class schedule online I realized that I couldn't make any of the listed dates, so I reached out to Chef Jasmin to see about future classes. That's when I learned that I could schedule a private class as long as I had a minimum of four people. Perfect! We agreed on a date and we were good to go. Chef Jasmin was super responsive to email communications for both scheduling and follow up questions. Payment is usually handled via an email link to all participants in the class (she will ask for emails). Since my group was taking advantage of her Groupon we just had to purchase it and let her know once complete. She would later redeem the Groupon's based on the email addresses I had provided. Classes take place after business hours (6:30pm) at Le Rêve Bakery in Queen Anne. It is such an adorable space! We arrived a few minutes late of our 6:30 start, but that is why it is so brilliant that the class is kicked off by a happy half an hour. We were warmly greeted by Chef Jasmin who had a lovely bottle of Bordeaux and an assortment of hors d'oeuvres set out for us. She also had four workstations ready and waiting for us along with aprons with our names on them. She let us mingle for a little while and we started the actual instruction right at 7pm. Chef Jasmin had all of our ingredients and supplies laid out, pre-measured, and ready to go. The class was completely hands on. We worked in teams of two which worked out really well because there are some times when two different components of the ingredients had to be ready at the same time. She had her own workstation at the front where she would demonstrate each step, and we would then do it ourselves. While we worked on our own macarons she would come by and make sure we understood what to look for in terms of consistency, answer any questions, and provide handy tips and tricks for if anything should go wrong along the way. Each of us made our own flavor of macaron which is the ONLY reason I would suggest going to a class with more people, so you get to make more flavors. Her max class size is 8, but I think 4 was really quite perfect given the space and ensuring lots of individual attention. We made coconut, chocolate mint, strawberry and vanilla macarons, and they turned out beautifully despite my lack of pastry bag piping skills. And so yummy! In the end we each took home a box full of all of the cookies we made. I am so happy with our experience at Bells Pastries last night and I would highly recommend the class to anyone interested in learning the art of French macarons. Full price for the class is $85 per person, which is on par with other cooking classes in Seattle, and I would say totally worth it. I look forward to taking some of her other classes in the future. If I had to make any suggestions for improvement, I would have liked to purchase some of the other treats in the display case of the bakery, but that wasn't possible. Also, Chef made a batch of perfect macarons as she was demonstrating up front, maybe we could have taken home some of those too. ;-) read more

She was pretty detail oriented in the class, the class is only 8 people so she pays individual attention and makes sure you are doing things correctly. She shared a lot of her secrets on how to make amazing macaroons which most if the bakers dont. She even made the cake for my friend's birthday and it was amazing how detail oriented she was. She took the order on a 48 hour notice, and made sure it looked perfect. She is very easy to work with, takes in your inputs and the results are gorgeous. I arranged a private macaron class for my sister's birthday with Jasmin of Bells Pastries. From start to finish Jasmin was incredibly professional and detail oriented. We were able to chose flavors for our class and Jasmin came to our home for a very reasonable traveling fee. She also responded quickly to all my questions. She brought snacks which included cheese, hummus, fruit, cold cuts, etc and wine. Jasmine also brought everything needed for the class and was very well prepared and did all the cleanup as well. We just got to focus on having a great time and making delicious macarons. With Jasmin's instruction we were able to make an assortment of macarons and were sent home with recipes so we can make them again. She also just gave us great general baking tips. Additionally, a photographer was included in the cost of the class and we received a very professional digital photo album of 140 pictures from the day. It was so nice to be able to take the class and not have to think of anything from snacks to photos to clean up, Jasmin had it all covered. I am a total newbie when it comes to baking of any sort. I actually have tried baking twice with guidance and both times have broken the hand mixer I was using. Jasmin has helped me break my curse AND taught me how to make buttercream frosting, macarons, and decorative frosting all in 3 fast hours. It's a great small hands on class. She is a really good natural instructor who explains things well and gives great tips, answers any questions and generally makes the class go by really fast. Jasmin catered a dinner for eight at my house this past weekend, and I can't stop thinking about what we ate. The food was gorgeous and tasted as good as it looked. She created a bright, seasonal menu, taking into account food allergies/aversions of guests. She takes care of everything - plating, serving, explaining each course and clearing - meaning I just got to sit on my you-know-what and enjoy! Jasmin also thinks of everything - she brought take-home containers if guests didn't finish their food (not an issue with my friends!), and made extra desserts for my kids to try later.
