Dumpster fire. They say to email them with cake order. Then you get an automated response saying to call in the order. Then when you talk to the lady, she says she can't look at images. So basically, order a basic buttercream cake, or nothing. Then she says she'll put you on "the waitlist". Why not just list it on your website. To save you all the rigmarole- basically, she has a 3-4 week lead time if you want a cake from her website that has fondant. Be prepared to call her, then ask her to check her email, and hope that maybe she'll get back to you. Great business practice Morfey's. I had our wedding cake made for us at Morfey's Cake, and we were extremely pleased by the experience and result! They're a busy business, so we did give Morfey's ample time when booking our tasting and reserving the cake, and it all went smoothly! We called ahead and made the cake tasting appointment in advance, and had a fun time tasking cake samples (with coffee!) with Erin, and going over designs. We'd looked at Morfey's website and Instagram beforehand so had a good sense of what we wanted. We decided to buy our own cake toppers, but had Morfey's make the sugar flowers for us. Because we were getting married in Seattle and our cake was relatively small, we elected to pick up the cake ourselves and deliver it to save on the delivery fee. Made the reservation, the cake was ready on time, and it was well packaged for travel (it was defintely a 2 person job, even with our smaller cake, so bring someone if you decide to deliver it yourself). And wow, we were overjoyed by how beautiful the cake looked! It impressed our guests and was a beautiful decoration on the day of the wedding. And it tasted so good! Visiting from California, I planned a weekend getaway in Seattle for my girlfriend's birthday. I had called numerous cake shops & bakeries in the weeks leading up to the trip, with always something holding my shop selection back (pricing, turnaround time, availability, etc.). Impressed with her designs on Instagram, I called & spoke with Erin on a Tuesday & requested a birthday cake for my girlfriend to be ready by Saturday. She gladly accepted my request without hesitation despite the short turnaround. It sounded busy in the background on the phone, but she was patient with me, gave some recommendations, & was just generally helpful (this was the first time I had ordered a custom cake). In the end, she delivered & then some, at a very good price compared to the other in the area bakeries I called, & most importantly - it tasted delicious. Very very disappointed with Erin I've been coming here for years and have always been happy, but this time, for some unknown reason Erin snubbed me. I emailed and left a message wanting a birthday cake for my son. I gave almost 2 week notice. We talked I sent her pictures and I'm sorry for not being a baker and know what piping is but she totally dogged me. I called and left her a message to go ahead with the cake and when it came time to get the cake no call or acknowledgement. I was so humiliated not having a cake for my sons birthday. I drove up to his College wanting to surprise him. Til this present day I have not got an acknowledgement of my email and several voicemails. I have never ever been rude to Erin. Since its the cake-time of the year with numerous graduations, I find it's my social duty to aware ppl of my experience. I ordered here for my sister's graduation. I decided to order at a proper bakery so I can get a nice looking cake, and since my order was a short notice, they said they couldn't customize excessively and asked that I trust them. Then, I didn't ask for custom details except for the color of the cake- to match with another cake they'd made that's listed on the home page of their website (gold color, with a tiny tiny bit purple for uw colors). What I got: A cake that was brown all around, with child-like yellow writing and "design", and blue frosting at the base all around. No exaggeration here, it had an appearance of a brown blob, which isn't something a mouth desires. Any-who, points taken out of the design, the remaining 50% relied on taste. We got home right after graduation and cut the cake. I ordered a white cake, with mocha flavor and chocolate butter cream, I have yet to figure out what I ate. While I think the ladies, who may be the owners are nice, and they gave me the choice to not buy (I had to buy since we couldn't be empty handed at this point), it really doesn't mean much when the actual service I am paying for is bad. Upon seeing the cake, I was just shocked. they completely denied I ever mentioned to either of them about wanting uw colors of gold and purple... lame cause I wouldn't not mentioned what the heck I want if i'm ordering a cake for its customization. They later said "this is how the gold turns out in butter cream). So, I guess I didn't ask for gold but they dod try snd fail at it. All in all, the cake looked worse than a grocery store cake and can't quiet figured out the taste. Mainly bread that's left out and dries with a bad flavor of chocolate. I have no doubt that they also make good cakes, but it's a risk I am not going to take in the future. The choice is ultimately yours, but bear in mind the risk you take by ordering here. My best friend ordered my son's cake from this cake shop for his 5th birthday. It was such an amazing cake that got just as much attention as my son! Lots of people complimented how beautiful and detailed it was. And most importantly, how DELICIOUS it was. It was a double layer chocolate cake decorated with Pokemon characters. My friend made it sounds like the process was easy and that the customer service was spectacular. He was able to show them pictures of the Pokemon that my son liked and gave them artistic liberty to take it from there. I'd say the results were fantastic. All the cakes at my wedding were delicious and delivered on time. My only disappointment is that the image I showed her was not modeled and I was REALLY psyched to have the cake match my dress. It is one of the center-pieces to a wedding reception, and what I requested was quite simple. I don't think I'm a very high-maintenance bride, and as my now-husband says, "you weren't exactly asking for the moon... ...people just couldn't handle simple requests." When I showed her what I wanted, she said, "Oh yeah, very easy!" But, somehow in our conversations and payments, that detail was omitted and I ended up with a plain white cake. The tasting wasn't very smooth either, in hindsight. If you want flavors besides champagne, white and chocolate, you need to request them in advance for the tasting. I've never been married before so I think when they schedule those things, they need to ask more preliminary questions to avoid wasted trips downtown for their clients. With that said, their offbeat styles and flavors of cake are MUCH MUCH MUCH tastier than their traditional "signature" wedding cake flavors. We opted for exactly none of their signatures. The banana cake with coconut cream was my absolute favorite and possibly the best cake I've ever had. I've included a pic of what I had asked for for my cake, and what I got. read more
