Our family favorites are Chantilly, Guava and Pineapple Delight. We come for everyone's birthdays and pretty much every holiday or special occasions. We come so much, I still don't know why they don't offer a little discount/rewards for their utmost and loyal customers. So they see our family once-three times a month with a lovely cake order. I remember when they had a location down in Renton too or sold a variety of their cake slices down at the Renton Uwajimaya! Their Seattle location is very convenient for anyone coming from north or south. They offer a variety of different desserts as well, along with coffee/other drinks too. Very laid back place to purchase from and workers are fast with what you need to get picked up or to purchase. I've always recommended Cakes of Paradise to everyone who asks for a recommendation or to new family/friends visiting Seattle. You will always satisfy your sweet tooth with them!

For a $65 cake i wish i had gotten confirmation that it was going to be there. The place was busy. Kind of a hole in the wall. A bonus was there was a Hawaiian street fair going on. Wish I had known about it so I could have planned for it. But had no time to dawdle.

The cashier told me it was because the strawberry rhubarb pie had been warmed in their oven and that baked pies incur an additional $2 charge. The explanation didn't make much sense, but it was my first visit, so I assumed there was some policy I didn't understand. When I got home and looked at the menu, I realized the $2 charge had actually been applied to the chicken pot pie. From what I can tell, they charge an extra fee if they bake one of the refrigerated pot pies for you. Mine was frozen, came with at-home baking instructions, and was never baked in-store. I sent an email to the address listed on the receipt to let them know they might be charging customers incorrectly, but never received a response. The food was good, but the whole situation was strange.

We started with the crab toast and paired everything with a Coke for me and their Tropical Tea for Dan. The drinks were good, and the crab toast was even better. The steelhead itself was good, but the rice substituted for the potatoes was hard and clearly undercooked, and the broccoli was also quite hard. The rice was offered as a substitute because they were out of potatoes, and I have absolutely no issue with a substitution--especially in an airport. But when you're paying $120+ for a meal, the sides should still be properly prepared. One other thing to keep in mind if you're traveling: we had our carry-on and personal bags with us. We were asked not to place our belongings on the nearby tables. We noticed that guests seated at some of the surrounding tables were able to use nearby tables and high chairs for their belongings, so the policy felt a little inconsistent from where we were sitting. Overall, our review reflects our experience, which unfortunately left us disappointed and feeling like the meal didn't live up to the hype we had seen online. The fish was good, the starter was good, Dan enjoyed his entrée, and the service itself wasn't the overall main issue. It was primarily the quality of my sides and the overall value that left us feeling let down. That said, maybe it was simply a bad day for them. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

I redeemed a Groupon at Baked the end of October. Baked decorated a beautiful cake with really nice icing work. As I didn't have an occasion for the cake at the time, I wrapped the box in foil & plastic and froze until the night before Thanksgiving. (Being bakers, the folks at Baked didn't suggest the freeze, but it worked out great.) Thanksgiving cake :) Delicious! I've not had a finer cake...top notch...multiple layers, ganache filling, slivered almonds in the batter, flawlessly applied and very tasty buttercream. (Lots of choices for cake and filling.) I know Groupon has wreaked some havoc on small businesses--and from another comment here, it looks like a lot of other people waited the full year to redeem the Baked Groupon--rotten time of year to cut into biz cash flow. Tell you what though, Groupon got me to Baked...and I'm giving these guys 5 stars+...you need an occasion cake? I recommend Baked. read more

Additionally the topper you recreated, under my request, of the Volunteer Park Conservatory, was so beautiful and made the cake even more meaningful for both, my husband and myself. I ordered a cake for my husband's birthday (which happened to fall on Father's Day) this year and BAKED. delivered beyond my expectations. It was a golf themed cake decorated to the tee..(no pun intended). The putting green looked so real and the golf club and ball were darling. The chocolate cake with bailey soaked cream was delicious. BAKED. is who we went to for our wedding cake! They exceeded our expectations and WOWED our guests! We had a very creative cake that was modeled after my dress. It was a red velvet cake that was gold with purple details and little white rhinestone looking bits all over it. We also got two sheet cakes that were red velvet and chocolate. I recently got a cake from BAKED for my wedding party / shower. It was an awesome lobster themed cake. I contacted Kristina and she was prompt with a response to discuss what I wanted. My procrastination lead to a short deadline, but they did everything to accommodate my needs. I was able to get custom filling and the custom work with the lobster and shells was great. It was quite busy and no one had cake. They were clearly fielding both pick up whole cake orders and walk in slice orders but it seemed very poorly organized and managed. It took almost 20 minutes to get our two slices. The lemon cake was fine but a little too much frosting to cake ratio and not enough lemon flavor. The raspberry mocha fudge was good but nothing special. Wasn't super impressed by the whole experience and won't be coming here again.

Unfortunately, the service was a bit odd, which seems to be a recurring theme in other reviews. While checking out, I asked why there was an extra $2 charge on the chicken pot pie. The cashier told me it was because the strawberry rhubarb pie had been warmed in their oven and that baked pies incur an additional $2 charge. The explanation didn't make much sense, but it was my first visit, so I assumed there was some policy I didn't understand. When I got home and looked at the menu, I realized the $2 charge had actually been applied to the chicken pot pie. From what I can tell, they charge an extra fee if they bake one of the refrigerated pot pies for you. Mine was frozen, came with at-home baking instructions, and was never baked in-store. I sent an email to the address listed on the receipt to let them know they might be charging customers incorrectly, but never received a response. The food was good, but the whole situation was strange.
