I had 3 car loans with them, the low interest rates attracted me to this credit union in the first place. I paid off the loans early (no penalty). I have used their website to transfer money to/from my TD Bank checking account. I like TD Bank also. When we wanted to refinance our mortgages, Bellwether customer service recommended switching to a 15 year fixed mortgage with a very low interest rate. The remaining 26 years at 8% fixed rate at Citizens became 15 years at 2.5% fixed rate at Bellwether. Yeah, I'm happy with that. 15 years doesn't seem like forever. And they trust me to pay my property taxes and insurance (no escrow account). It was annoying to send the tax bill to Citizens every year and beg them to pay the property tax on time. Once they lost my bill and found it 2 weeks after the due date (I wrote a personal check to the town when I suspected my letter with the bill might be misplaced). Citizens reimbursed me, so we were cool. Citizens has some really nice people there, it's just too large a company. That's just my experience with Bellwether from 2001 to current day. I have been a member for almost 20 years. They were similar to other credit unions I have been a member when I first opened an account. I only had savings and checking, never a loan. There interest rates are pathetic, one 10th those of a bank. Other credit union offer better rates. They offer less and less and are more like a traditional bank. Fees appear out of nowhere. Customer Service is nonexistent. Debit card stops working for no apparent reason, HOURS spend in person and the best they can say is "we don't know, we assure you this will not happen again" and yet it does. The pick the most god awful apps. You even need an app to do in person banking. I will take a day off from work just to switch all my automatic withdrawals. Pick a different credit union. read more

Behind the times. Shocked they don't yet offer in branch debit card printing for their members. It's extremely inconvenient to have to wait 7-10 business days anytime someone needs a new card. Then to be told it's a $75.00 fee to expedite the card which would only speed the process up by a day or two. Weird because they used to be able to overnight them and waive the fee based on the circumstance. Unfortunately, the service has gone downhill. Luckily there are plenty of other credit unions that DO offer in branch debit cards that we will be moving over to. read more

the staff is always friendly and helpful. they answer the phones without having to deal with robots answering. they are a breath of fresh air compared to other financial institutions. I highly recommends Bellwether. They offer many options for loans and deposit accounts. read more

They have been absolutely nothing but awful to bank with for the last 3 years. From incompetence to thinking they are right and being even worse when they get proved wrong to just plain out irritating.. And don't even get me started on how awful it is to have loans with them . Not happy at all. I have had a line of credit for years. We had a fire and my husband called this afternoon to make certain someone from the mortgage department would be there to talk to him about co-signing checks from the Insurance company. He drove there only to find out, NO, no one was here and wouldn't be here until Thursday. We are in the middle of making our home whole again after a fire. Our home is well worth over $600k we only have a $100k credit line with a $6k balance. We pay it off EVERY month. We are closing out this account. I don't want to deal with people who don't care enough to take care of a client who is going through a catastrophy. We will be there tomorrow to payoff our balance, close out this account and NEVER do business with you again. read more

Had a car payment book with this bank and the due date was the 10th of the month on the 3rd one month they said the payment for that month was past due ! I had to argue five times with the bank manager and show the book date and all past payments from the bank! No Apology given either! Never Again! It was a sneaky banking move to increase my rate! Horrible customer service skills ...only care about money... having hardship absolutley no compassion or care except when's my money coming..... never have I felt so sadden by how unaccomidating they can be only threatened to take my care which hasn't happened in 4yrs and I've been further behind than i am now and the lady could only say 'well at the end of the day we need our money, so it saying u cant pay now well we coming for car.' We have been customers at Bellwether for many years long before they were Bellwether. Since they did some kind of upgrade a couple of years ago we have had one problem after another. Their fees are outrageous and not clearly stated . We stopped payment on a check that was not lost by us and got slammed with a 30 dollar fee. Unbelievable. What are you supposed to do when a check is lost or stolen? Response to e-mails is unbelievably slow. Our other credit union responds immediately. Frustrated beyond belief with their customer service. We are considering closing all our accounts with them even though it will be a pain because of direct deposits it seems like that is what they want us to do. read more

I wish I could go lower than 1 star because Bellwether Community Credit Union is the absolute WORST bank I have EVER banked with. I have banked with Navy Federal, Regional Acceptance, Chase, Wells Fargo and I have never had a SINGLE negative experience with any of the above financial institutions. I am a Navy Veteran and I am lucky to be able to be a member of Navy Federal, so I recommend them for any of your banking needs if you have military relatives. If you are in New Hampshire and are looking for a credit union I suggest you RUNNNNNNN.from.Bellwether. The customer service is SOO terrible, snobby, rude, inconsiderate, did I mention VERY RUDE. This bank is trash...trash trash trash..absolute TRASH .I wish there was a way for us to connect with the CEO or something because when I tell you EVERY single person at Bellwether is garbage I can't even stress it enough. I always call in and I'm very nice and respectful but nope...they are automatically treating me as if I'm a convict or someone who should not receive respect. I wish I did my research before I got an auto loan with them because now I'm the one that is suffering even though I was up to date on my payments at the time of my total loss. I've cried and cried because they have damaged my chances of getting another vehicle and they still don't care. I'm am so shocked at how this credit union is working . We sent overnight A P.O.A paid for it to be sent back. An no one can seem to find it. We have been told well there was a snow storm. It has been snowing for 4 days and we still get mail. The employees don't re turn calls. I have been hung up on. We sent original documents and told they would be sent out. It has been a week and we have yet to receive them its seems no one knows were they are. Have asked to speak with Branch Manager an still no reply. The employees have been short and rude. We have stated we needed documents are need for further family business to be taken care of. an it doesn't to a difference. I have never encountered such rudeness in my life. If you value your sanity do not use this financial institution. Their rules and regulations will make your head spin because they are so illogical. Take for example that a person listed as a secondary on an account can't go down and request to be taken off the account. Very happy with every aspect of service.Very user friendly online banking and applications. Customer service is always very quick to answer any questions I have about my accounts. Competitive loan rates,and great kiosk/atm services which make banking after hours very simple. Love that is also part or shared banking. I have had a car loan w BCCU for a little over a year and a credit card. I have not had any issues at all. I was particularly impressed with the recent technology update they did, specifically with a mobile app! I love that I can use the Touch ID sensor on my phone to login instead of using a password. The app is easy to use and very intuitive. Such a big improvement! read more

Whent to get a loan for a car and was initially accepted and drove the car off the lot. I got a call the next day saying the bank declined it because the primary used her current pay of a quarter higher and they said it was suspicious and they wouldnt loan the money. read more

Quite possibly the worst customer service I've ever received. I thought switching to a smaller, local credit union would be a good option to avoid the hassle of large banks & contribute to local economy but will unfortunately have to switch. Terrible hours, no help when you have an issue outside of business hours (or weekends) and pretty much out of luck if you have an issue and you're not physically in New Hampshire. Have been yelled at twice now when trying to resolve issues with my debit card not working -- and issue has still not been resolved. read more

I've been with BCCU for 5+ years and am very happy with them. Customer service, both at the location and on line, are professional and quick to help. The Financial Service Consultant has been especially helpful setting up a home equity loan and other accounts. Wouldn't dream of going elsewhere! read more

I tried to refinance with them, BIG mistake. Worst service and experience. Good luck in trying to get the rates they advertise. They used an assessor that took pictures of the wrong house and Bellwether said "oh well." I had to use at least one star to write this however if I could there would be negative stars. After using this Credit Union for over 12 years they provided the absolute worst service to me and my wife. The loan department proved incompetent and unprofessional through the entire process. They started with false information to keep me from going to a competitor, after running both mine and my wife's credit changed the entire package for the worst. They bait and switched so grossly that the manger was trying to pass the blame to his team and they were passing it on to the underwriters. The lack of communication, incompentence and extreme unprofessional attitude was remarkable. I was in the Manchester location in an office with a rep. who called the loan department. Unbenounced ot the loan originater who was treating me terribly, she was on speaker phone and proceeded to insult me and the manger and the underwirters and when I explained this I was hung up on. Now we have hits on our credit for nothing as they had no clue how to write a loan for recreational vehicle. They are trying to become competent and will use my example to better there process I was told. O. thank you for that. We lost our chance at the purchase as the other buyer used a lending institution that could provide a service they marketed. We went to DCU Credit Union with all of our deposit accounts and future banking needs and have already been more rewarded in the short time we've been there then the past twelve at Bellwether. read more

i am not happy with bellwether credit union at all i have had a car loan with them for 6 years now i am on my last payment and my car loan will be paid off in full i wanted to get another loan they denied me even after knowing i would pay it back my current car loan was 15k in total and i only owe one last payment i work vary hard and have always payed them now after they have made a profit on my loan there refusing to grant another loan i still have the same job and now make way more money then 6 years ago and they wont grant a loan just a note to bellwether treat your loyal customers right the ones who work hard to pay there bills as i have done to anyone considering a loan with them your loyalty will not matter even if you pay back your loan in full you can still be denind a loan after 6 years of paying and one payment away from paying off my loan i say this to anyone seeking a loan think twice loyalty means nothing . read more
