Long wait for food, servers are angry at life keep that attitude at home. Lots of locals which tells me they should be good. Food is good but when you take the parking the additute and the drive it takes to get here, I think there's other places to go. Also, don't advertise lunch specials if you can't get the soup. Make it clear when lunch is served. As I'm sitting here getting more and more frustrated with what I'm hearing from the servers I want to just get up a leave. For a small busy let's try a little harder to become that place where everyone wants to go because it delightful and dull and depressing. read more

My husband and I went to Belmont Cafe for the first time yesterday morning after living here for over 20yrs .. I have to say .. it is our new favorite place for breakfast.. (recommended by friends) I was so impressed with their service and food.. The food was outstanding.. I got 2 eggs, with pork roll and sausage.. with hash browns and a side of French toast for 8.50. it was delish!!! My husband got the cream chipped beef.. it was the best I ever tasted from anywhere in this area.. they have half plate and full plate.. You can't beat the prices. We loved the staff.. Headed to Mustard Seed for Breakfast , but they were closed. So Belmont Cafe came up in a search with a 4.5 star rating. We came in and the girl cleaned of the front table for us. As she sprayed the table with cleaner she neglected to take away the salt and pepper shakers, exposing them to cleaner. It took 15 minutes for a waitress to get our drinks and food order. Remember, breakfast, so not a lot of time is needed. over 50 minutes later the food comes out. French toast and eggs. The food was, "not the worst we ever had", per my husband. My opinion, was one and done. The waitresses had 0 personality or customer service skills. What I can't figure out is who rates this 4.5 stars? read more

I was in the area for business and found the Belmont Cafe by necessity. I arrived just before the local crowd around 8:30am for breakfast. I had the corned beef hash omelet with a side of pork roll with a coffee. All for under $12! Good quality was great! Staff was super friendly. I will definitely be back each time I'm in the area. read more

My car's GPS search bar brought me here as I craved a Starbucks style coffee this morning, though I am averse to Starbucks prices! The Belmont Cafe is only 5 miles away so I thought why not? The storefront appeared old and if not for a neon open sign glowing in the window I would have thought the place shut down years ago. Walking in, it was clear that this cafe is a local favorite! Most of the tables and barstools were occupied with jovial guests in this small Pocono mountain community. I don't usually have breakfast but knew it was too late for just a cup of coffee. Unfortunately I never bought the coffee because they had no dairy substitute for cream, which I never drink without. Instead I had a giant glass of apple juice! The bacon omelette was huge, and was accompanied by a huge pile of hash browns! The waitress was a happy service person and returned often. While the other customers raved about their pancakes and other items off the crowded menu my food didn't disappoint either. What was astonishing was the bill: $9.47!! Where can one find a cafe with ample food that feels like your grandparents' old farmhouse for less than today's modern cup of coffee? The Belmont Cafe is definitely a rough jewel hidden beneath an aging veneer, but if you're looking for wholesome company, a day's worth of food for under $10, and a calm atmosphere, put this cafe on the very top of your list! read more

You could drive past this place and never realize it's open. The front is dull and uninspiring. I almost didn't go it, but some local reviews made be give it a chance. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was good. The people were friendly. It's a great place to eat. The venue is very small and we had to kind of squeeze in our seats and try not to bump the next table. The parking is terrible. You must park across the street and walk across. The positives, good food, friendly service, at a reasonable price over ride the negatives. I'll be back when I can. read more

Love this place. Friendly staff, foods great and the prices are fantastic! I've come here for lunch and now breakfast. The burger I had for lunch was massive and I almost couldn't finish it. Today, I got the Belmont breakfast which is 2 eggs, home fries, 2 sausage (patties or links), 2 strips of bacon and 2 huge pancakes! Always a great experience. All of this for under $7!!! If I could personally give a lower rating, I absolutely would. I have worked in the food industry for years, and I continue to try and give this place a chance each time I've gone in. 5 years ago it was the hot spot for breakfast. Now, you wait nearly 1-2 hours every time for your food. Today, I had gone there with my family. We had brought our 1 year old out for breakfast at 10am. They had dirty tables and we waited. 5 mins rolls around and the buster is standing around doing nothing. So we wait. Finally, our son is extremely aggravated so we sit down at a dirty table and ask them to clean it off. The buster gives us an attitude and cleans it off. The waitress comes over for our order at around 10:15-10:20 and gets our drinks out as well. 11 rolls around and no food. 11:20. Still no food. Nearly 12 rolls around and we FINALLY get our food. Our son is screaming at this point bc we'd been there nearly 2 hours. So we ask for boxes and head out. The service is awful, the food isn't worth the wait. The people are rude. I can't see this business being open much longer. read more

Was in Waymart and we wanted to get something to eat. Went in here and had a great lunch. Very clean, cozy place. I had a great hamburger, 9 oz! The food was very, very good. Absolutely awful! Went for a simple breakfast. Had our drink ordered taken by the most miserable person on the planet. Waited 20 minutes for a waitress to take our order who didn't know that she was suppose to wait on our table. Waited another 55 minutes..still haven't gotten our food and never saw the waitress again. No apologies for the wait...nothing. Left after an hour and 15 minutes still without getting our food or even an acknowledgement that we were there. read more

Great little place along the main strip in Waymart. We stopped there for breakfast on a recommendation during a camping trip. Large portions of very good food with friendly service. The Belmont Special breakfast consisted of 2 eggs made to order, choice of sausage links or patties(the links were amazing), bacon, home fries, and choice of pancakes or french toast. This feast was under $7. My friends got omelets that they said were awesome, and looked like they were. The Belmont has many other options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Needless to say, we revisited before leaving town. Both times were delicious. I am leaving off one star, because the home fries were a bit bland and the room was a bit on the hot side on our second visit. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area. read more

Such a wonderful hometown diner in the heart of Waymart!!! Dawn and her family are.always so.friendly and welcoming, they are the true definition of friendly outgoing owners!!!
