This is my second visit to Cocoon Coffee House. Both times I enjoyed the coffee and pastry I ordered. On this visit, I enjoyed the Liberty Latte which is an iced pistachio latte with cold foam chocolate syrup. I shared a berry tart and an apple tart with my husband. The crust on both were rich and delicious and the filling was perfectly sweet. The atmosphere of the coffee shop was welcoming with lots of available seating. My friends ordered the cranberry scone and a cheese danish which they enjoyed as well. Service was fast and our orders were accurate. read more

Not one to write a review, but this message needs to get passed along to a manager. We waited 50 minutes for our 2 breakfast sandwich's that came out with two egg patties that were clearly microwaved and 25 for an iced coffee... Many customers before us got their food, we were incredibly kind and patient and didn't cause a scene, but the next person might not be so kind. If I wasn't a service industry person myself I would have asked for me $40 back. Also P.S. - incredibly disrespectful for the cashier to be on her phone for the first 3 minuets before speaking to us while there was an active rush; can't tell if she was stressed or too stoned to be on the clock. Very disappointed because this was a cute little coffee shop. Best of luck to them, but will definitely not be back after this. read more

What a cute little Brooklyn coffee shop tucked away in the mountains, right? WRONG. Brooklyn would eat this place alive and leave no crumbs - a contrast to the small piles of crumbs all over the floor of this wanna-be hipster, waitfest of a coffee shop. After a long interaction with the well-intended but poorly trained cashier, we moved over to wait for our drinks, only to be told after 14 minutes that he had rung it in incorrectly so they cancelled our order. She said we were overcharged by a whopping 34 cents, so she refunded the order and made us do it all over again when we would've much preferred to not lose the stop for our drinks in this completely stationary line. It's now been over 30 minutes. It would take less time to drive to the IGA, buy coffee beans, grind them, invent the coffee machine, and make yourself a cup of coffee. read more

Adorable little coffee shop in the Poconos. As other guests report, it is quite expensive -- $8.19 for a latte with coconut milk. They also charge an extra 3% fee for using a credit card. I get it, running a small business is hard these days! But I'd only be able to visit this place as a treat, not a regular coffee spot. They have an array of yummy looking pastries, including a GF brownie. The breakfast and lunch options are limited but there are items like Bacon Avocado Toast and various sandwiches. They also carry chocolate, maple syrup and other treats in the retail portion of their store. There's a good amount of comfy couch and table seating inside, and lots of outdoor tables, which unfortunately are directly in the sun, which makes for a better setup in fall or spring weather vs. the height of summer heat. I got the Campfire S'mores latte, and it came out perfectly hot (you'd be surprised at how many lukewarm lattes I've received in my lifetime). I found it a little too sweet and not enough mocha or coffee flavor, but it was decent and definitely caffeinating. All-in-all, it was worth the visit, though be aware it's pretty busy around breakfast-time so don't come ravenous since there might be a wait. read more

Well - let's start. I think the red head at the counter should lay off the weed. She was too high to even look up from here phone to take our order till another staff member snapped at her. It took 35 minutes to get 2 ice coffees and 45 to get microwaved quality food comparable to Dunkin' Donuts. We didn't Finnish the food and threw it away. $38 for that experience is horrendous. read more

9.27 for 16 oz matcha latte with soy milk and strawberry syrup is the most I've paid ever .... while it was VERY good, I don't think it justifies it being that expensive. Super cute spot, service was fast, cashier was very nice, but far too expensive for a matcha :( I would probably not get a syrup next time but as someone who doesn't eat dairy it stinks to have .99 added for not wanting whole milk. read more

We found this place on Yelp. We are always looking for cool spots. First impressions were not great, not much to write home about. Cool building but layout inside needs work. Our coffee and food was mediocre and certainly overpriced!! We had to wait a bit and the barista was not capable of getting coffee out to folks so they could sip and enjoy while waiting, staff not personable at all, very snappy and unfortunately not a pleasant exchange for being in such a beautiful spot while on vacation and having this be our morning experience. We stopped by this coffee shop during a trip to the poconos. Service was attentive, staff is super friendly and helpful. The coffee shop itself is in a nice location next to a building that looks like an old Scottish castle. The inside is cozy and feels warm and inviting. I ordered a mocha latte and was not disappointed. It was made well, tasted chocolatey and frothy just the way I like it. However, I feel the baked goods here were lacking. My friend, and I shared an almond croissant. The croissant was too dry, with some corners of it hard and dark brown (overbaked). There was also not enough almond paste on or inside the croissant. We got our croissant toasted and jt was just a hard crispy mess. Definitely room for improvement there. I also ordered a chocolate chip cookie. While it was chocolatey and buttery, I think the cookie was stale because it was super hard and not in a pleasant way. I think this place is so cute and has so much potential but they definitely need to up their game with their baked goods. My suggestion would be to offer less things, but high-quality. read more

It's been a few years since I've been to Cocoon. It was lovely back when it's opened, and it's built out and started offering even more since then! Seems like now they also sell beer and wine, local artisan products, and have liquor for their coffee in the evenings. Would definitely return to check out those offerings next time I'm in town. I arrived around 10am and it was hopping. There was a line consistently the whole time I was there. Service did take some time, both to order and receive food. Since I'm not a regular, I don't know if this is standard or just an result of the times, but I wasn't in a hurry so it wasn't a big deal. Food was standardly priced. There was a case full of beautiful pastries, but I was feeling hungry so I went for a breakfast burrito. The burrito was very large and filling, and it was tasty. My wrap was packed with eggs as well as peppers and other veggies, plus cheese. I also ordered a mocha, and that was just as tasty. The ambiance is lovely. Lots of wood and soft lighting, and dog friendly. A nice place to hang out, enjoy a cup of coffee and chat with a friend, and there are not many like it in the area. The slower service might have knocked off a star or half star in other places, but I'm still rating Cocoon a five because it's definitely a standout for the location. I'm so grateful Hawley has somewhere like this. read more

We were told of a craft and vendor mall at the silk mill and decided to have lunch at the coffee shop. Very nasty staff and over priced products. Might be ok if they develop a better attitude. The term pretentious comes to mind. read more

Do I dare say you get a larger serving at the monster coffee chain (begins with S ends with the S). Nice atmosphere though. Will go there when we want to treat ourselves just a few times a year. I started eating there breakfast bowls over a year ago. I just had one and the clearly changed all of the ingredients to cheaper and it tasted like it. Premade- heated up gross. Are you kidding me? Ambiance is cozy with ample seating, games and books to read. Matcha latte with oat milk was 10/10. New Yorker breakfast Sandwhich with eggs, cheese and honey was tasty. I made the mistake of adding avocado to mine, it was unfortunately old and brown had to eat around it. This is a great spot otherwise and would highly reccomend! read more

They sell a bunch of odds and ends like maple syrup and chocolates. I got "The Philadelphian" which is an egg sandwich topped with cheesesteak on a bagel (I substituted the bagel) and a fruit danish. Coffee with a side of sass. To be fair, the Cocoon Coffee House does have a lot going for it. They have a pretty large menu that goes beyond your standard coffee house fare. In addition to coffees and pastries you can also find breakfast and lunch sandwiches, quiches, salads and more. There is lots of seating inside and out, and they also sell adorable packaged goods like wine, cheese, meats and spreads. Unfortunately our experience fell short in the service department. My friend was first in line, and after she ordered the cashier scanned her receipt and loudly declared (in front of a large group of us) that she had forgotten to leave a tip. 1- This is rude and embarrassing. My friend did not appreciate being called out, as I do not think anyone would have. 2- This is a counter order coffee house. It's like a Starbucks. You order at the counter and wait for your food to come out. There is no table service. I'm not quite sure what tipping would be for. And to add insult to injury, the eggs are not even cooked fresh here. The egg sandwiches had precooked hardboiled eggs on them. My food was fine. I kept it super simple with peanut butter and bananas on an english muffin. They could have been a little more generous with the banana, and although the 'english muffin' was good, it was not an english muffin and basically just a regular roll. I think poor customer service can really make or break an experience, and hopefully they can make some changes. Perhaps they should leave a tip sign or jar up at the counter. It's just not a good look, and I'd be lying if I had said that our experience wasn't tainted because of that. read more

Overpriced, slow and bad service and FILTHY! Stay away!! We ordered one Arnold Palmer and One Iced Green Tea, the Rachael sandwich and a Pastrami sandwich. The bill came to thirty two dollars. Even though there was hardly anyone else there we had to wait approximately twenty minutes for drinks and food. The Arnold Palmer was sickening sweet. The Iced Green tea was also terrible with some fake unknown flavoring. The sandwiches were average at best. For the price I was expecting higher quality ingredients. They were sloppily prepared and haphazardly wrapped in some foil even though we were dining in. The establishment itself was extremely dirty with trash on the floor (napkins, sugar packets, etc). The sugar/creamer/napkin/utensil station was filthy as if it hadn't been cleaned in a week. All of this occurred while most of the young workers stood around doing absolutely nothing. This small building near the silk mill is this cute coffee bake shop, with an no frills outdoor patio as well. Lots of goodies on sale too, from beer and wine to meat and cheeses. We got his & her delicious deli sandwiches (chicken wardolf salad and ham cheese swiss) , delicious delicious drinks (nitro cold coffee and hot chai latte) and delicious delicious delicious pastries (poached pear tart and the everything cannolli). Cozy place to get breakfast! The pumpkin spice latte was yummy. The meat quiche was yummy, good flavor and texture; it had sausage and bacon in it. The veggie quiche was also yummy, although the veggies make a tad watery when compared to meat quiche. My family enjoyed a bagel with cream cheese and the San Fran sandwich. If you go in the morning, I'd plan to be there for between 20-30 minutes as it is very crowded. Staff was super nice! read more

We had the pleasure of working with Cocoon bakery for our wedding cake for our first venue. We ended up having to go through another venue bc of Covid restrictions (trust me we regret that decision every day) bc the cake we had at our tasting was amazing!! We have never had cake as amazing as we did! The baker knows what she is doing! Absolute BEST cake you will ever have! I will be placing an order every year for our anniversary and we have visited the bakery a bunch of times since. She actually even made us a mini version one time when I called and ordered a cake. Cute place and location but sadly nothing is fresh, I ordered a breakfast burrito, took a couple of bites and had to dispose of it because it felt like the eggs cheese and whatever else it had had been blended and then just added to the tortilla. Quite unfortunate actually since I was looking forward to it, also ordered a smoothie which is prepared from concentrates not fresh fruit, not even the coffee was good, and also poor customer service - the cashier seemed to have a bit of an attitude. Discovered this little gem of of a friend's recommendation. They seems to have it all. We enjoyed a lemon meringue tart (absolutely delishious) and a chocolate mousse ganache (a little too chocolaty) and cappuccinos. Service was a bit slow to get our cappuccinos but they were good. Might be a bit pricey but I'll be back to treat myself. read more
