I am currently remodeling my kitchen and laundry room so needing a laundromat for about a month. I haven't gone to one for over 20 years. The laundromat five mins from my house is dreary and the machines look like they are from the 1950s. They are rusted inside and I wasn't quite sure how clean my clothes were getting (or were they getting dirtier?) I found Belmont Eco Laundry on Yelp. It gets a solid five-star rating which was pretty impressive. I went on a Sunday afternoon and there was plenty of parking available in the lot. There were also several open washers and dryers which was a plus. There are different sizes of Electrolux professional washers that run from $3.25 per small load to a huge mac daddy that holds 75 pounds of laundry at $9.75 per load. All machines take quarters, credit cards or debit cards. They will even text you when your load is complete. The dryers run $.25 / 7 mins. The washers final spin cycle was so strong that it took only 21 minutes to dry (and was possibly ready before then). There was a nice lady working there who was very friendly and helpful. She was also cleaning the machines inside and out which was good to see. Other perks: - plenty of wheeled laundry carts to get clothes from washers to dryers - a restroom - open WiFi - a change machine - ample seating - detergents and fabric softener vending machine I will have my own laundry room back on track in about three weeks, but this will be my place for laundry until then. read more

I've been using this laundromat for 12 years and praised it without reserve on Yelp and to anyone who needed a well-run, reliable, clean laundromat. Not any more. It may be as clean, but the number of machines (mostly the double-load size washers) have been non functional for many weeks. The prior owners took exemplary care of the facility and of their clientele. Well, just not the case anymore. Even when the place is less than crowded, getting laundry done in the formerly timely way may prove impossible. The 50 cent fee for using a card v. cash -- which isn't stated anywhere onsite -- is an additional annoyance If you have cash, don't count on the change machines to be working If my car hadn't been stolen, I'd go elsewhere. read more

I've been here several times. It's not the cheapest, nor the most expensive. About middle of the road on prices. But the place is always clean, and they have newer machines that always work. And every machine has the option of taking a credit card, which is nice not having to deal with quarters. There's always an attendant if you have issues or questions. Speaking of attendants, I dealt with 2 of them today. The 1st one, Margot (but not Margot Robbie, unfortunately), was able to answer some questions I had in the beginning. After that, she was able to chat with me some and relieved the boredom as I had a LOT of laundry this time. She left and Ari (not sure of the spelling) took over, and again was able to chat a bit. I tend to do loads on loads of laundry at once and this is one of the few places that was clean, had kind and helpful staff, and had washing machines that could handle multiple loads of clothes at once (I think I did up to 6 in one wash). It was my first time ever using a laundromat, this place is huge and really clean. I was pleasantly surprised. I brought my own detergent which happened to be tide pod style. There was nothing that said which section to put the tide pod in(or that you shouldn't use them) so I guessed liquid. When my laundry was done I went in and I could tell they hadn't been washed, just wet with water. I opened the compartment where I put the tide pod and it was still in there, but goopy. I had paid $8.75 for this wash and was a little frustrated even though I knew I probably did something wrong. I called the number on google because no attendant was on site at that time. No one answered but i left a detailed message and within a few hours i got a call back from the manager. She was SO nice. I explained it was my first time at a laundromat and she told me that the tide pods don't really work. I was planning to just let the $8.75 wash go but she asked me if I want a credit on a wash card and told me they have these so you don't have to use cash or charge your card each time which I LOVE. This was kind of a one time deal because i had a lot of laundry to do but this experience will bring me back. The machines are efficient and like I said the place was super clean. Best laundry mat ever! The staff is super helpful. The place is kept spotless, one thing that's always bothered me about public laundry facilities is that the machines always smell of mildew, and the staff here keeps them sparkling clean. There have been a couple of times I've done dumb things like washing a (clean) diaper by accident and the employee allowed me to run the machine again free of charge! And on another occasion I didn't have enough quarters to dry some blankets in the large dryer and the manager put a dollar in so I could finish my load and take my rambunctious children home! read more

So this is probably the cleanest most ultramodern laundromat I've ever been in. The machines are brand new Electrolux. They're efficient and they're fast and you can be in and out of this place in no time. Having to go to the laundromat every week is a thought that I can no longer bear in my life. I haven't even been in one for about 30 years. If I can't wash my clothes in my own home, then I'm not ever going to want to do them. Such drudgery. It's bad enough that I have to do them anyway let alone schlepping them to a coin-op every week. Hell with that. Had a big job that couldn't be done at home. I tried with this place I really did. I used them for nearly 6 months because they are close to where I live. It's cleaner than most places and usually has someone on staff. But...my clothes. never. got. clean. And they are one of the more expensive places to go. I tried almost every washer they had and I did not pack my loads to fill. At the end I was using 2-3x the normal amount of detergent and softener on the largest machines filled with less than a single load and my clothes still didn't get clean. After going to another place down the street (that was frankly much cheaper) I finally realized this place just does not use enough water. I guess that's the "eco" part. My clothes from the washer at the other place were properly soaked through whereas this place the clothes after washing just didn't seem wet enough and you could still smell things like my deodorant on my shirts. I was disappointed every time and just got fed up with it. For the money they charge you are not getting clean clothes. read more

They accept credit cards! Just fill the washer or dryer and swipe your credit card. It's nice and clean with large, new machines that are fast. The washer only took 20 minutes and the dryer about 40. The dryers don't have lint traps but automatically collect it for you. There is plenty of counter space for folding clothes and several rolling baskets for transporting laundry from station to station. One small pet peeve for shorties like me: I couldn't see and couldn't quite reach the top of the machine where the soap goes. I had a taller person assist me but if I was on my own I would have to bring a step stool. read more

First off, nobody likes having to make a whole lot of small talk while washing their underwear, or eye contact while waiting for the machine you need to be emptied. That said, it seems like the people in this neighborhood are of the same mind, and the attendant is sweet but not the type to linger. The machines have any setting you might need. Should you so choose, the attendant can show you how to make the washing machine text you when your load is done. If only they had that in nopo, cause the vultures scavenging your clothes are real. There's few shady people in this area though. And frankly, I hate texting... Even if it's a text from a machine. The facility is so clean, and the music is right up my ally. They play jazz and blues! If that's not to your liking, then slap on some headphones and freeload that sweet, sweet free wifi. If you happen to forget your detergent, there's a small market next door, if you plan on doing a months worth of laundry, grab a snack, settle in and avoid eye contact. read more

Best laundromat ever. I own more clothes than any adult human should because I hate doing laundry so much.... No clean dresses? Oh well, let's just go buy 7 more so than I can go another few days without doing laundry. When I finally break down and stop being a gross bitch (I'm looking at you, third day febreeze/perfume leggings), I end up at this laundromat. I skip my apartment washers because they top load and have a central column that has ruined straps and ties more than once. I skip the local laundry which has roughly 10 machines and one or two typically broken. I SPOIL myself by driving to Eco Wash and bringing my laptop for the free wi-fi. The staff is always friendly and will break a $20 in any way I ask. The machines are always clean and working. These guys hit the minimum for being a good wash-mat and then they go beyond. Or "adulting" so I got to the point where my three large baskets were overflowing BF suggested we just take it all to a laundromat and just pay to get it ALL done in 1/4 the time as one load would take at home for free. The idea was good. As long as it was a place I felt good about leaving my clothes, and I could get a drink while I waited. Found this place with GLOWING reviews. A stones throw from the Horse Brass. And the machines Text you?! Done. Deal. It was great. Giant machine fit almost all the laundry. ($10.25/ $3.25 for the little load) Texted the number that tells me when it's done. Luckily there's a handy count down timer as well. Because the text didn't work. But I enjoyed the experience, yelp did not underwhelm. Tldr: great laundromat. I'm not used to laundromats even having employees present, but this one almost always does, and they are consistently very helpful. Like, extremely, above-and-beyond helpful. The machines are modern and plentiful, and the facilities have felt well cleaned and maintained each time I've visited. The main draw for me are the super-huge capacity washers and dryers, but it's also really nice that the place is close enough to Mt. Never thought I would be giving a review of a laundromat! I was originally so sad because my old laundromat went out of business, and I hate change. I ended up coming to this Belmont laundry mat and was astounded to be greeted by an enthusiastic, energetic and helpful woman who gave me a brief tour of the machines. She gave me lots of tips on the setting options, how to get the debit card machines to work, how much time the dryers need..... It was the longest conversation I've ever had about laundry in my life...... She keeps the place spotless (does she use stainless steel shiner wipes?) and it all felt so well taken care of, I even used the time to take a walk up at Mt. Tabor. I generally do over-sized items at a laundry mat, and it use to seem like a big inconvenience, but I must say I'm looking forward to my next trip to this place and another morning walk up to Tabor! read more

Let me tell you how much I enjoy doing my laundry here. I enjoy it so much that I go significantly out of my way to do my laundry here. To give you some perspective, there is a laundromat in my building. Like I could schlep my belongings to the washer in under a minute. I wouldn't even need to put on shoes. But what do I do instead? I put on shoes, something other than my pajamas, put about 9 loads of laundry into baskets and bags, load them into my car and then DRIVE 10 minutes! That sounds stupid, right? Wrong. And here is why: I can utilize a 60 pound washer and fit ALL of my laundry in there! The amount of detergent I need is the same as it would be for just one regular size load. The high efficiency washer has ALL of my clothes clean in no more than 35 minutes. And did I mention, the 60 lb. washer costs @ $7.00 (on cold) - $7.00 for 8 loads of laundry!!! (And I can use my CREDIT CARD!!) Then, I can wheel my wet clothes over to the high powered dryers where they will be dry and ready for transport in approximately 21 minutes - give or take. So what have we learned? I just did 8-9 loads of laundry for @ $10 in exactly 1 hour. How do I know that's awesome? Because when I get home, the people that are at the laundromat in my building have been there since before I left to do mine...and they're still there...and they're not done. Oh, and they probably paid @ $20 for the same amount of laundry as me. Basically, I win. You can win too, just be smart about when you go. You know when laundry day is, people. Save yourself some hassle and guarantee yourself a parking spot by going during off-peak hours. read more

This is probably the BEST laundromat in the Universe! We don't use laundromats often since we have a washer and dryer. Thanks to my fellow Yelpers for recommending the Belmont Eco Laundry. We are at the end of our PDX visit (sigh) and didn't want to pack dirty laundry. A big five stars. Clean--CHECK Working coin machines-CHECK Working laundry/softener/bleach dispenser (including eco friendly detergent (liquid or powder) CHECK Fancy high speed washers ($2.25 for an 18 load machine) CHECK There were also several other machine with smaller and larger load machines CHECK! All the washers seem to be working (I've never seen that before in any laundromat we've been to!) CHECK! The washers did a completely thorough job of cleaning in less than 20 minutes-- I wasn't keeping track of the time but it was quick! CHECK! There is an ample amount of dryers. 25 cents for seven minutes. Our dryer with the whites was done in less than 20 minutes and the dryer with our dark clothes was done in 25 minutes. The heat was enough to dry the clothes without being flaming hot like most laundromats.CHECK! The carts are stainless steel with a slim sleek design so they are both roomy and maneuverable--CHECK! There is a clean bathroom that is OPEN for the patrons! CHECK! There are several chairs and tables--CHECK! There are magazines, books and a basket of kids' books!!! CHECK! There is a parking lot for customers! CHECK! There is a convenience store next door in case you need snacks or drinks (yup--guilty--I did buy some refreshments here) CHECK! I recently moved to Portland with no washer/dryer and an enormous amount of laundry, and I dreaded the thought of spending hours at a laundromat. Thanks to Yelp, I discovered Belmont Eco Laundry. It was a bit further than one normally drives to do laundry, but I'm glad we did. We arrived with a very large load (like a 30 gal trashbag full and then some), and thought we needed a 60lb washer. The guy working there was very helpful and told us we could cram it all into a 45lb. Even though it looked full, he assured us it would work and it would be cheaper. So, we paid the $5.25 and I texted the washing machine for alerts. We went next door and in about 10 min, the machine texted me that it would be done in 10 minutes! I have never been so excited to get a text from a robot. By the time we went back in, the laundry was done and we went over to the dryer. The dryer didn't seem as hi tech, but it still worked pretty quickly. It was $0.25 for 6 minutes and we only needed about 24 minutes to dry the large load. The whole process cost us $6.25 and took less than an hour. The price seemed high at first, but when you consider that we essentially did 4 normal loads in less than an hour, we did pretty good. BUT, Belmont isnt the kind of laundromat I was using back in the day and apparently times have changed. This place was super clean and new for a laundromat. I was completely shocked since previous reviews it seemed to be pretty scary before. I was worried. -new, clean machines -great mags -very small book selection -fairly fast loads so you can get it all finished and be on your way. -staff on hand if you needed help.
