The owners were polite, both of them greeted me with a huge smile and, pleasant conversation. It's a definitely a mom and pops establishment it has a laundry mat connected on the other side. Value~I brought my dress in on Thursday late afternoon and, it was ready for pick up early the next day. I tried to get the wrinkles out myself and, I couldn't do it. I had the dress in the backseat doing some last minute shopping at the hair store. I looked straight ahead and, seen the cleaners. This strange guy who hangs out outside comes out as soon as you enter the parking lot and starts yelling at you, telling you it's private property, making sure you're there for doing laundry and nothing else. I went into that parking lot to turn around and he just stood in front of my car yelling and I yelled back "im trying to turn around and you're in my way" and i just got met with "we don't want you here"... my man, i don't wanna be here either MOVE lol anyway I definitely don't recommend unless you like hostile environments. read more

The laundromat is clean, plenty of machines and gets the job done well. Did a large load for $3.50 and dryer .25/7 minutes. Everything was dry in 28 minutes. If I wanted good coffee, there is good cart coffee a few steps away and plenty of food at the Piedmont food pods. read more

I really like this place. I have been shopping for a new dry cleaner, closer to home, and for some reason was really nervous about it. I feel like it can be hard to find a dry cleaner that does a good job. I took a coat here that had been stained with pizza oil (Really pizza place? Just throw a piece of pizza into a bag and hand it to me?), and they were able to get it out, jacket looks new again. It was a really expensive coat and I had tried numerous things to get the oil out on my own. They saved the day! They did a nice job on my other items and well, but to cap it off...they are the nicest people! Both owners that I met were very friendly and kind and professional. The female owner even helped me to arrange my scarf so I looked "chic" before I left....so sweet! :-) Made me smile! This is the place I take my work togs for cleaning. They do an excellent, old school job on my dress shirts--easy on the starch--and they do it cheap. Yeah, the budget is tight and I could wash and iron my own shirts, but I work HARD, dang it! If I have to wrap a tie around my neck everyday, I want to be able to snap that collar down crisp and neat and leave the house looking sharper than Don Draper before a weekend bender. Not only are the prices reasonable, these folks are as friendly as can be. I was short a buck when I was picking up my stuff a few weeks ago. "That's okay, just bring it in next time," the man said. Who does that these days? Nobody, that's who. They treat me like a valued customer at Walnut Park Cleaners. They seem to greatly appreciate my business--and I appreciate that. For 10 years, this was my "go-to" cleaner for dress shirts & other occasional dry cleaning needs. Until recently. They used to have what I would call "moderate pricing". Not too high. Certainly not too low. But they did a good job and I liked supporting one of my neighborhood businesses. Recently, however, they exactly doubled their price (in one swoop) to have shirts cleaned. I can understand increased prices, that isn't the issue. But doubling from one week to the next is certainly worth questioning. When I asked why the double in price, I was completely unable to understand the answer. I can't even articulate their response here, because when I asked her to repeat it- the answer changed and still didn't make sense. Bummed out, I have begun a search anew for another dry cleaner. read more

I ADORE this laundromat and the LOVELY couple who run it. Behind the parking garage right off of killingsworth, the washers and dryers come in a multitude of sizes, they have pods for sale, cash out your dollars, and make playful conversation. I went on a Friday afternoon and was the only one there. I'm entirely grateful that this place is right next to my house. Cheap and efficient is all I ever want in a laundromat, and to know this one is run by great people makes it amazing. read more

Can't ask for anything else... The same pants and vest that cost me $20 and 6 days of turnaround time at Abe's on Broadway cost me $11 here and took 4 days. The people behind the counter are super nice and we always end up shooting the breeze about local food spots and whatnot. Feels like a really good neighborhood dry cleaner should. read more

I came here to have my wedding dress cleaned, and it was cleaned by the time they said it would be, but cost me $138. It was a simple dress with two layers, so we're not talking a 50 layer petticoat monstrosity. I was so shocked and in a rush that I didn't try to argue with them, but that was way more than I was expecting. read more

Tried out this location since it was close to home. The couple that own and run this establishment are nice and cute. They unfortunately overcharged me. When asked for an itemized bill, her response was "you can afford it." 12 shirts and one suit for $50. Lastly, they tag shirts with a pen on the inside collar, which shouldn't be a problem except when it runs on your white shirts. I won't be coming back. read more

Disgusting. I honestly do not know how anyone could describe this business as "clean". Mounds of clothes, some on the floor and other overflowing on tables coupled with a strange musty smell and McDonalds fries being eaten not five feet away from the clothes that have been cleaned: not my idea of clean. The service I would describe as surly. They did not take a phone# or any information other than my last name and when I returned for pickup they had trouble finding my pants. I had a moment of panic at the thought that my pants were lost, as the heaps of clothes and lack of organization in this place would lend itself to losing articles of clothing. Somehow, they produced my 2 pairs of pants and I walked away knowing that I will not return to this place. So if you prefer to have your clothes cleaned in a clean environment, do not come here. I used to do my own laundry here over 10 years ago. They were always very friendly, attentive, and very clean. Today I picked up a coat I took in for dry cleaning about a month ago. I called and explained that I had an unexpected expense (in Oct. when I took it in) so I would pick it up first thing in Nov. When I did, they were very cordial and not appearing to be upset about my tardiness. They were just as friendly and courteous as they were 10 years ago. The building may appear to be dirty, as mentioned in another review, but it is an old building, not a dirty one. These owners have been here a very long time and it is clear to me that they take running their business seriously and are very careful to keep it running well. read more

The best service! I live in Southern California and was going to be in a wedding in Portland. I needed to have my bridesmaid dress cleaned and ready for me. I called Kim at Walnut Park cleaners and she said no problem. She told me to ship it to her and she would have it ready. I was a little hesitant to put my $300 dress in the mail, but I really had no other choice. I arrived in Portland and when I got to the cleaners, Kim magically knew it was me when I walked in the door, remembered my name and had my dress ready. Amazing!! read more

Very unprofessional business...I will not be returning. This is the closest cleaners in my neighborhood but I avoided them for many years because of a bad experience with the counter help in the past. Well, my new experience several years later is still not a place I will patronize again. When I returned to pick up my dry cleaned short jacket, I will was given a comment that I was late to pick it up because it had been several weeks since it was finished. Actually, I left my jacket on 2/6/14 and I was told it would not be finished until 8 days later, which would have been 2/14/14....which is a long stretch for a single item to have clean. When I finally picked it up today...which is only 9 days after it was available to pick up...I was given this very unprofessional comment by the same lady at the counter. When I handed her my debit card, she informed me my total would be $8.00. The written cost on the claim check was listed at $7.75, which I had to ask her to state on the claim check when it was originally dropped off. I asked why it was $8.00 since the claim check listed $7.75. (Side note...there was no special cleaning involved other than a standard cleaning so I was expecting an added cost) She points to my debit card and I told her that there is no indication in the store that for adding extra for using the debit card as payment. Please note that there were many visual signs at eye level showing credit card logos were accepted as payment. So I told her she needed to post this in the store so that I know about it. She continues to say that its like "Gas Stations"...implying that gas stations charge more for using credit cards or debit cards. My unhappiness with this experience is that when a business post visual credit card logos as a means of showing what is accepted as payment but charges a additional "user" fee, then it needs to be visibly stated at the counter or by the these logos. I understand that the charges associated with debit and credit cards but it is only good practice to be upfront about adding them to our totals when using them. This is my very first 1 STAR and first negative experience about a business but feel very strongly that I needed to share. read more

I haven't paid for professional dry cleaning in years (I use Dryel or Drycleaner's Secret and do it myself) but recently bought two second-hand dresses - one is couture and the other just a nice dress. The couture one had some serious dirt on it that somehow escaped the staff of the store I bought it from, and my friend and I while picking it out and trying it on, but was seen at the register at the last minute. They offered it for 1/2 off which would cover dry cleaning costs, so I bought it and took them to Walnut Park Cleaners. WPC did an amazing job of getting the dirt out without harming the dress, and the garment was ready when they said it was going to be. They answered the phone when I called a few times, and when I wen there the staff person who helped me was polite, helpful and communicated clearly. I'm happy to have found this dry cleaner for those cleaning jobs I can't undertake myself, and I would recommend them to others based on my positive experience. read more
