I would say I used to love this business, but the last time I used them, they didn't bag up a long jumpsuit I had and we usually walk to pick things up and everything ended getting crushed. We don't like when they use plastic, but before they had to bag the jumpsuit because if they didn't it would drag on the ground. I would think that would be intuitive, but I guess not. The person on the phone said they would have the owners call me, but I haven't heard from them. I do think they do good work, but this last job was not good! read more

I brought in 4 shirts to be laundered, and picked up the 4 shirts the following week. The shirts stayed in the bag for at least another week. Upon removing them from the bag I noticed one of the shirts was not mine. I took in a long sleeved pink gingham from the GAP they gave me a short sleeved pink gingham from Eddie Bower. I could see how the mistake was made, took the shirt back in and explained what had happened. The clerk was very nice and credited me for the laundering of 1 shirt. she asked if I would like the owners number, I replied that I would like him/her to call me. No call. I brought in some dry cleaning the following week, the clerk remembered me and asked whether the owner had called me. I said no, she said she would say something again. It's been months now, still nothing. I'm not asking for the full price of the shirt as it has been worn and I don't remember what I paid for it, but the least they could do would be to credit me for a few more shirt laundry charges. I'll not be back which is a shame because I use them often. read more

Don't go here!!! Literally the worst service I've ever had. This was my second time taking my rug into be dry cleaned and they doubled the cost of the cleaning from the first time I had it cleaned. Their reasoning: "Someone charged you incorrectly the first time." Then it took me a month and a half to pick up my rug because they sent it out to be cleaned and kept "forgetting" to notify me 3 times that the rug wasn't ready. The kicker....I opened up the plastic bag they wrapped my rug in (that was still completely wet) so now I have black mold all on the bottom of my rug. I've brought all kinds of things in like coffee stains, normal seasonal dinginess, smelly camping items, and full size coats. Each item is returned much nicer than before. There has only been one time where they couldn't get something out and they left me a very kind note about it so I didn't mind. So my friend referred me to this 5 Star Cleaners. He only gets his button down Oxford style shirts 'done' there. It's actually his wife who takes these shirts in, so I don't know what he gets done to them- but he is very happy with that service. I took in an Eddie Bauer ankle length down coat. I asked the counter clerk to have all the cat hair removed. When I came back for it, the cat hair wasn't gone. The same counter person was polite and said she would have to run it through again- at no extra charge. I agreed. When I came to pick it up I checked it and their was still cat hair on the inside and some of the down filling had started peeking out on the inside and out. I pointed this out to the counter person and she blamed it on the fabric. THE FABRIC! I paid an extra $3 for the removal of cat hair. It cost a total of close to $25 for them to clean this coat. Because they were so polite and apologetic, I decided to give them another try. Especially since my friend has always had positive experience. So I brought in a cashmere cardigan. There is a sign in front of the cash register that says de-pilling is an extra $3. I asked THE SAME counter person to have all of the pet hair removed and to have it de-pilled. I even held up the sign and reiterated what the sign says and to make sure we were on the same page about what I wanted done to the cardigan. The counter person said, yes- no problem. I returned to pick it up. Some cat hair still on it, no de-pilling. I had not left the store and showed this yet again, to the same counter person. She blamed it on THE FABRIC! This time she was not nice. She got out a plastic roller of sticky paper and started going over the cardigan in front of me. I can do that at home! And it wasn't even helping. The counter person was huffy and a bit rude. She claimed that I never asked for these extra services. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! They blame all their mistakes on the customers and the fabric!!!!! read more

I forgot to pick my three rugs up before moving cross country. I couldn't remember the name of the dry cleaner. I loved those rugs. Mike the owner called me two months later to remind me to pick them up. So graciously they boxed them and shipped them to me. They would not let me pay them for their extra effort. I went here for the first time last week. They had switched one of my shirts with someone else's. After initially not believing me they told me the manager would get back to me in 24-48 hours which of course didn't happen. I went back in and asked to speak to the manager and was told he works at another location on occasion. I asked for his number and they wouldn't give it to me. So I don't really have anything positive to say. They aren't accountable and are unresponsive to complaints. read more

DO NOT trust them with your laundry! I brought my beloved organic wool comforter to be cleaned after a pet accident. The woman who owns the cleaners was very nice and reassured me that she would check with three different colleagues to make sure she could soak my comforter before doing it. I told her that I would trust her professional opinion as long as she was sure it would NOT shrink it. She said that she would make sure beforehand. I was never warned that it might be shrunken. I received the quilt back a week later completely shrunk and wrapped up. No one even warned me that this has happened. I contacted her husband who claimed that his wife had told me that it might get shrunken so they would not reimburse me. And he said that since it was already dirty when I had brought it in, my pet had ruined it first so he would nut reimburse me. The quilt cost $600, he offered me $34. I called back several times trying to speak to his wife again, but was never able to reach her to discuss it. I tried emailing then again, but their business conveniently do not have a customer service email. If you look at their SW cleaners, they have had many issues as well. Quite ironic, since the woman made such a big deal to tell me that they are all about customer satisfaction. Is still like me money back, but I gave up. read more

I've taken things to this dry cleaner twice. The first time was a great experience, and I was really excited to have found a natural dry cleaner that did a great job. The second time was terrible, and I will never go back again. Here is why... I took my favorite pair of dress pants to be cleaned (which they had cleaned and pressed so perfectly the last time). After a week or two, I finally got around to picking them up. Upon leaving, after paying, I noticed that the pants were all creased, not from pressing, but the kind of creasing that happens after you've been wearing them. They looked just like they had when I dropped them off. When I questioned this, the owner (presumably) stepped in to reassure me that the problem was that the fabric "had memory" and this happens a lot that creases don't come out. Huh? I've had these pants dry cleaned many many times and, until now, they have always come back to me looking brand new. (They are a thin poly blend fabric, so all it takes is ironing them for creases to come out!) I wondered if they had even been cleaned (I smelled them a bit, and couldn't quite tell). The owner assured me they that had been cleaned. He said something about being able to tell from the tag that was pinned on them. The owner offered that they could try again to get the creases out, and put some more "elbow grease" into the pressing of the pants. Errrr, elbow grease is what you want your mechanic to use when tightening bolts on your car. "Elbow grease" is not what one expects (nor desires) to be needed when ironing delicate fabric. I was so unimpressed, I declined his offer and left. I just go home. I smelled the fabric again (a bit more than one feels comfortable doing in a public place in front of people. But, how else can you tell if it's really clean?) ........... Bottom line, the pants have *NOT* even been cleaned. That's what the problem is. So this dry cleaner just stole $7.35 from me for no service whatsoever. Now I have to figure out where I can take my favorite pants and have them cleaned in time for the holidays. Any recommendations are appreciated. read more

I've been here twice. The first time I had a great experience. The 2nd time my boyfriend took in our clothes with a Groupon. He said the second he mentioned the Groupon S. Ballar at the counter was suddenly dismissive, unhelpful and asked him to step aside so she could help the next customer while he tried to download the Groupon. When he returned, unable to do so, he put our clothing in two piles - one for dry cleaning and the other for wash. The bill came to $91.84 for 11 items (wash shirts, two pants and two sweaters). They would not take his Groupon and therefore did not offer him the discount for pre-pay. He came home totally stunned. He works in the service industry so is aware of customer service etiquette. I checked the bill and they had charged him all dry cleaning prices, including putting a few of the shirts as "sweaters." I immediately called and spoke with Ms. Ballar. She was defensive and abrasive, so I asked her to please place the clothes aside, and I would come pick them up. When I walked in there was another woman behind the counter (whom I remember having a good experience with on my previous visit), my clothes were sitting in a heap to the side of the counter. I started putting them in a bag, and noticed a young woman hiding behind the back wall. She literally hid from me. Very professional. As i left I looked back through the window, and saw her come out. All I could do was laugh at how immature and sad that was - and then immediately emailed Groupon to get a full refund. There are better and more professional cleaners in town, take your business elsewhere. read more

I had a Groupon for this establishment and initially only used a portion. I was told I would have the credit for the remainder by one employee. I went in next with a skirt and the employee was rude, defensive and hostile when I inquired. I turned around and left. It's a bit chaotic in there, a bit messy and generally sloppy. Mostly perplexing how someone could be so rude for no reason and I don't feel comfortable dropping off nice clothes. read more
