El Guapo has been the top choice so far with classic caramel, chocolate notes and a nice syrupy mouthfeel. Every bag has been consistently-roasted and quick to dial-in. Third Coast has so far resisted the insane shrinkflation that has affected many coffee options. As a comparison, local roaster Greater Goods is nearly 2x more expensive, and Third Coast is better. This is the best value in high quality espresso in Austin...and maybe across the US. Highly-recommended!

There were so many businesses present at this event, and it was crowded with long lines but our favorite smell was in the air...COFFEE! We were looking for some really good coffee to purchase and after sampling their Peruvian Medium Roast. Darrell & Sandy Vasquez brew their coffee in house in small 6 pound batches to maintain absolute freshness and this was evident in the flavorful sample we tried today...SOLD! My Husband Tony was particularly impressed by how he felt after tasting just a small sample, "more energetic, perked up but not edgy" which is just what we need from our brew of choice during these particularly cold mornings. The first room you enter ...beware ...a large glass display counter that contained home made pastries all made fresh onsite! They even had a few gluten free items. I snatched a gluten free apple streudel and continued onto to the next small room where drinks can be purchased. Found out any drink can be made decaffeinated, sweeet, thank you! Ordered a decaf with oat milk and a few pumps of hazelnut. It was perfect! No after caffeine side effects noted. I also get a glimpse of the kitchen in between the 2 rooms, where all the goodies are made. There are two small indoor rooms with various seating arrangements and seating outdoors. We grabbed a small table for two inside. I thoroughly enjoyed my strudel and coffee. Note: they make and sell their own ground coffee with a special of buy 3 bags and get 1 free. T shirts are available for sale as well. All proceeds from sales goes to local fire and police departments! Come check them out!

They sell coffee by the pound, likely for those serious coffee lovers who have fancy expensive coffee machines. I was looking for a latte. Bad news...this coffee company sells coffee by the pound not lattes (hence the name). Good news... they sell drip coffee for $2.00 + tax. What a deal! This family owned shop has been roasting beans locally since 1972 and focuses on helping customers brew excellent coffee at home rather than serving coffee drinks on premises. According to the store manager, Mr. Anderson occasionally comes into the store. The selection of freshly roasted beans is rather larger, with store favorites like Guatemala Antiqua, Dark Sumatra and Arabian Mocha cited as most popular. Coffee cost on average $19 per pound. In addition to coffee, the store carries loose leaf teas, mugs, candy, cards, coffee pot sweaters, brewing equipment, and small other gift items, to name just a few items. I was totally and completely enamored with this store. They had so many trinkets and interesting items, you literally could peruse for hours. Captivating environment...Loved it...

The staff has changed over the years but I've always looked forward to the friendly interactions and perusing the large variety of equipment, confections and mugs. It's also a great place to buy gifts. The store has barely changed except for new products even though it's been in the same location since 1972. And, the coffee is the best!
