Menu is on the wall and you order and pay at the counter. We got 1lb of ribs which comes with 3-6 depending on their size, 1 side of green beans and 1 side of potato salad, and a sweet tea. Total was about $40 My husband said these were the best ribs he's ever eaten. They had the right amount of smoke, the meat was juicy and fell off the bone. My first time at Wingman Smoke House. It's a small unassuming restaurant that you might miss if you weren't looking for it. Seems to be plenty of parking in the back and there is dining inside. I am not sure when they open, but when I got there just a little after 1pm on a Sunday, they had already sold out of the ribs. I ended up getting a pulled pork sandwich with a side of potato salad. Overall, I would say the pork was satisfactory, but I probably wouldn't order it again. The meat was very salty and I almost didn't finish it. There was quite a bit of fat with the meat. Topped with a few pickle chips but overall, pretty dry and again, way too salty. I will likely come back to try some ribs and brisket but I see I need to get there much earlier if I want that. Good quality brisket! Potato salad tasted exactly like Rudy's bbq lol if you're familiar it was good too. Peach cobbler is kept really cold but they offered to warm it and it was delicious. It is more like a peach bread pudding texture wise cakey. I was a bit surprised that it was completely empty on a Saturday night at 7pm. The only drawback is the prices but honestly it's not too far off typical bbq prices we just didn't feel like dropping $20+ per plate for a place we'd never tried before. Quickly served and before I got to the register my food was ready. You order at the counter and pay at the end. Your food comes out on a metal tray. I ordered a half pound of brisket and a drink. Total was $16. The brisket had a definite smoky flavor and a good smoke ring. My plate had limited fatty stuff that most people don't eat so serving size was bigger for a half pound than other bar b q places I have eaten. Very tender and flavorful. Sauce at each table was good without being overwhelming sweet. I liked it. Music in the back ground was nice and at an appropriate volume. Three meat plate was enough for two of us. (We could have eaten more at the time but we were full until supper time so it was the right call) I am not a bbq expert. I am a tourist from Minnesota. But we loved it. Never have I ever before been served a bunch of kinds of yummy meat with sides of sliced raw onion pickles and pickled jalepenos. Also optional sliced white bread! If it's your first time here, you'll notice parking upfront is very limited, but they do have a decent sized lot in the back. This is a pretty small establishment with just over a dozen tables inside this wooden shack like structure. We came in through the back door and were greeted by the friendly folks behind the counter. I got the three meat plate and my wife had the brisket plate. Their sides are pretty typical of what you find at most barbecue places, good, just not memorable. They do not serve baby back ribs, so I went with their St Louis style. I have to give them credit for good moist brisket with a very noticeable smoke ring. However, my wife trimmed away a third of her brisket plate, which was just fat. The jalapeño sausage is very cheesy and it does have some heat which I liked. The ribs also had a great smoke ring and were moist enough where the meat mostly fell off the bone. They do give you a bottle of barbecue sauce if you need it, and it is pretty good, but not really necessary. I have to admit the barbecue here is pretty good and it seems to be a fairly popular place. Although, there was no line when we got here noon on a Friday and the place was less than half full the entire time. They do have soft drinks and tea, but they do not serve any alcoholic beverages. When you run your credit card that tip screen will be waiting or you can use the cash tip jar. We got the five dollar banana pudding, which was good, but a little too sweet and soupy. TLDR: Definitely the best BBQ in Hill Country proper, so it's definitely worth a visit! Finally stopped in after passing this place on trips between Llano and Fredericksburg. Tried the brisket, pork spare ribs, and the creamed corn. Brisket's not bad, stick with the moist (fatty) over the lean. Pork ribs were flat-out excellent, and OMG the creamed corn is the best I've had, period. There's a bit of Cajun spicing that gives it a welcome touch of heat at the end, be sure to get it as one of your sides. Location was clean, parking easy, and the staff were super friendly and happy to serve. Highly recommended, BBQ is on a par with anything closer to Austin. As you get out of your vehicle, you immediately smell barbecue. You walk past the smokers and into the restaurant where you are greeted by a friendly staff who want to satisfy your need for barbecue. The offerings include pork ribs, chicken, brisket, sausage and pork chops. We went for the traditional pork rib plate which has 4 ribs plus two sides and accompanied by pickles, onion and jalapeño if you choose. Prices are reasonable for great barbecue. The meaty ribs had a thick smoke ring and a great flavor, no sauce needed. We choose the traditional pinto beans and Coleslaw. The pinto beans had a good savory meaty flavor with small pieces of meat in them, likely brisket. For those that love pinto beans, this is similar to Day 2 of pinto beans, still meaty texture but with a slightly thicker very flavorful sauce. The coleslaw had a creamy dressing with celery seeds, not too creamy, with the great crunch of the cabbage. Definitely the sides helped heighten the pleasure of eating great Texas Barbecue. The unsweetened tea was strong and a good accompaniment to the meal, refills are free and the to-go cup lets you take one for the road. The staff was welcoming and ready to answer questions. They offered outdoor seating as well and to bring the food to your table. They are set up for fast service, no need to wait for your food. This was an enjoyable lunch and we left satisfied. I thanked the staff and stated we would be back. They offered if we called ahead of time with our food orders they would make sure that food was on hold for us as they do run out of items later in the day.
