I tried extensions 8-9 years ago at two other places, and had so-so experiences ( irritated eyes and lashes that looked odd on my face). However, I decided to give them another chance for my upcoming vacation. I have typical Asian lashes (on the shorter and sparser side), and booked a Classic set. During the consultation I asked for natural-looking lashes that would give me the appearance of wearing mascara and eyeliner to achieve that "makeup-free" look. Bel completely nailed it! The experience itself was super relaxing and I loved that her chair is heated (I was half asleep the whole time). You can tell that Bel is someone who cares about her craft. I am so thankful I found Belris. I wanted eyelash extensions for my wedding but my usual eyelash artist was out of the country. I found Belris after reading many reviews, seeing her work product and after I had a disaster eyelash extension application at another shop that claimed to be the best in the business. It was very important to me that Belris do a good job, because I would not have time for a reapplication before the wedding. Belris welcomed me into her gorgeous studio which is dimly lit with lavender scent. She immediately offered me a coldwater upon entry. Before starting with the lash extensions, Belris took 10 minutes to talk me through exactly what I wanted my lashes to look like. She was extremely helpful in guiding the conversation as I didn't know the exact terms for what I wanted my lashes to look like. I showed her a few examples and after a good chat she understood the look I was going for. I then laid back on the table which is a heated padded table and it was so cozy! What a nice touch to have the heated table!! Belris was playing very soothing music and worked so diligently that I fell asleep! After about an hour and a half she was done. I took a look at the eyelashes and almost cried- they were perfect and EXACTLY what I wanted. My lashes were gorgeous for my wedding and are extremely long lasting! It's been almost two weeks since my visit and the lashes are all still on - I might have lost one or two on each eye. I'll start with the positives... The studio is beautiful and quaint. Down to the nitty gritty: My service was a lash lift and tint. - You use an online system to book an appt., it always really irritates me when you choose an apt time and someone calls you to come in early, the tech was nice about needing to keep my original selected time but that should have been my first indicator of maybe needing to find a different place... - Also, nowhere in my booking info did it say I would need a gate code to enter or how to even get into the studio - The glue from the lash pads chemically burned and peeled one of my inner eyelids. (I'm guessing that was what it was, because I had a chunk left on my R inner eye and I couldn't get it off until after I got home ~2hrs after my apt was finished, and I had no issues with my L eyelid) - The tech left tint all around both of my eyes after my service - The tech did not ask me how dramatic I wanted the lift. She actually didn't ask me any questions except if I have had lash lifts done before, to which I said yes. - The lift and tint did not last. After the first wash 48 hours later, the tint was gone from my lashes, my lift was non-existent..... and my lashes looked frazzled so I didn't want to return to have them over-processed and break off... Disappointing waste of time and money... This review comes from someone who has been getting lash extensions and has had lash lifts, continuously for over the last 10 years. I recently moved to LA from OC and needed a new spot. Unfortunately, I might make the commute back to OC because these LA places just do not give a service close to what I am accustomed to receiving. :( read more

Best eyebrow shaping/tint I've ever gotten. I'm really picky about the color and shape of my brows, but Belris is an absolute artist.

I had my brows waxed and tinted a few days ago and now the tint is off I was shocked to discover that I only have half of my eyebrows. I can't imagine what inspired Belris to completely wax off the outer half of my eyebrows without discussing it with me first. Tidying up my brows doesn't mean waxing half of them off. On top of that they are uneven. She waxed off more on my right eyebrow so it's shorter than my left. When I checked my brows after she was done I couldn't tell as the tint was covering the now bald spots. I am horrified she did this and can't imagine what inspired her, as a brow expert to do so. I encourage anyone who is getting their brows done with her to make sure she does not do this to you by asking her to confirm exactly what it is she will be waxing off. I am now really concerned my brows won't grow back and getting them tattooed to cover this is not the answer. read more

I've gone to Belris first for a brow tint and tweeze and since for micro blading and two rounds of lash lifting and tinting, and I'm very happy with my results! Bel is very professional and knowledgeable. I went to her for the brow tint and tweeze at first to see what her salon and service was like, and during that time, she talked to me about what results I was trying to achieve and really listened to my needs in ultimately recommending that I go with microblading for the brows and a lift and tint for my lashes (as opposed to something like ombre brows or lash extensions, both of which she does too). I've gotten tons of compliments on my brows (pics from my recent touch up are below, before is photo is the bottom one and the after is on top) and am incredibly pleased with the new look. Also, the salon is in an adorable complex with a courtyard and is very warm and has a calming energy. I've been able to lie back and relax each time I visit, even when Bel is doing my micro blading! I recommend Belris' services. I'm also trying her brow and lash serum now - which, uniquely, can be applied on the lower lash as well as the upper (none of the other serums I've tried can go on the lower lashes), and I'm looking forward to seeing the results. read more
