Best experience here from the moment I walked in.... actually before that. I have to switch my original appointment from a weekend to a weekday and they were so accommodating. The new shop in Bradenton had only been open a week or two and you would never have known it was in its opening stages. Everything was so smooth! When I walked in, I was greated promptly and I was also offered a drink, one of which was a candy corn mimosa. Omg, best drink ever! Such a nice touch to the entire experience. Serena did my hair And I will be going to her forever! Not only did she know what she was doing, but she was so friendly- not pretentious or stuck up how some stylists can be. I requested Eleanor because of previous reviews that mentioned her skill with curly hair. I was needing to correct some aspects of a previous cut that I was not happy with. Eleanor listened attentively and patiently to what I was wanting and then described what she planned to do to make those corrections, recognizing that it would take a couple of visits to full correct some of the issues. I had an amazing haircut done by Patty today. She encouraged me to get a cut shorter. I love it! I am so pleased. I think the best haircut I have ever had. She is so pleasant and friendly. I have came here in the past because I followed my stylist. She moved out of state so I came to a new stylist. I am not sure if there is an issue because I came to Joylynn and she left but I arrived 8 minutes late. When I walked in I had to wait for the front desk person to do a check out which took about 7 minutes ( yes I timed it). Because I was on a timeline When I got up to the desk her comment was well she will do what she can since your 15 minutes late Needless to say I only had her do 1 service though I planned on a couple of other things. Just because of what she said nothing to do with stylist who said she could highlight ect. Also needless to say I will not be back. To many salons closer to where I live . I had not planned on leaving a review but when Laura Bell commented on something I said on a local community Facebook post for recommendations for a new hairdresser that is good at working with thick wavy hair. Some of the people posted her as a recommendation and her salon. I had already been there four times. I did not have a good experience with Laura as a hairstylist. I tried another hair stylist at her Salon and the first 2 times she did my hair it was good (not great) but the third time she really chopped it up, I shared this experience with the poster on Facebook. Then Laura from Belt came after me on Facebook, saying I was being hurtful by sharing my experience.I was not attacking her in any way. I was just saying what my experience with them was. So here's my experience. On my very first appointment Laura was the hairstylist. I had to wait for over a half an hour to get my hair washed then I had to sit in the chair of the hair wash station for almost 20 minutes because she was running behind and did not have an open chair for me. By the time I actually got in the chair it was well beyond an hour after my scheduled appointment time. When finally making it to her chair and explaining what I wanted and even bringing in a picture, she asked me no questions and she turned me away from the mirror. She did nothing that I had asked for and really chopped up my hair and made it much shorter than I asked for. I'm not saying this is the same experience for everyone but this is my experience with her. I tried another stylist at the same location giving the benefit of doubt knowing that everyone's different and my hair is not always the easiest for a stylist who doesn't know how to cut. I have thick wavy fine hair. The other stylist I tried months later after my hair grew out was better. The first two times I saw her did a nice job, the third time I saw her she did the complete opposite of what she'd done before and really hacked up my hair. This Salon is very expensive especially for the area. The only reason I gave them a try was I was trying to find something closer to home to avoid the heavy traffic on I75. When I found out their prices I was a bit taken aback but I assumed that they were that expensive and that they would do a really good job. I was wrong. Having long waits, poor service and paying $75 for a haircut and then having to leave a tip on top of that and then you're not getting what you asked for is not okay. That was my experience at Belt Salon. I also know that many stylist just don't know how to properly cut my hair. This was not a personal attack on Laura or her other stylist. I'm sure there are plenty of people there that go to Belt and are very happy with the results they get. I'm sharing my personal experience and when I did so on Facebook Laura only after someone recommended Laura and Belt salon for her to attacked me on Facebook saying that I was saying hurtful comments when all I said was that my experience was not good there, that was not alright nor professional. You're paying for a service and apparently because they are an Aveda Salon you're paying more for the service. Because of their supposed extensive training. Then you have long waits in addition to their propensity for canceling appointments and rescheduling them for other times to me is very unprofessional. In addition to the fact that she took it upon herself to go after me on Facebook when I was just asking for other recommendations and when people recommended her and her Salon I said they didn't work out for me and I said why I would not risk going here. Because Apparently if they don't do a good job and you're not happy with your service and you voice this that you're being hurtful and attacking them. I do not feel that her actions were professional. I never left a review or anything negative. I was just sharing my experience. Just as I am now in an actual review. Here comments on this review should be interesting. I wish them only the best of luck in their business and truly hope all their clients have a more positive experience there than I did. read more
