She's awesome and so down to earth and personable. Unfortunately she retired 1-2 years ago. I've been in for repairs twice since I'm under warranty. The first time was fine. The second time was absolutely ridiculous and a waste of 3 1/2 days at work due to Isabella's inability to fix the hearing aid the first time. One just stopped working 20 mins after leaving. I call and get the machine as always, head over and they're closed. 4pm?! So I call the next day and lose another 1/2 day at work to bring them back and Isabella tells me there's something wrong with it. That's why I'm here!!!! So she sends them out again. About 10 days later I take yet another half day and go back for them. Finally they're working. She adjusts them and they're way too loud 1/2 hour later they're okay but I'm not really happy with them. I now have to adjust the volume daily from my phone. When I left the last time I was given my medical records so basically I felt like it was "don't come back" Things were much, much better when Laurie was the owner. Can't recommend this place. Her knowledge and expertise were of the caliber that is not the norm in services to the elderly in today's day and age. I have never had one complaint. However, I am extremely disappointed with the Clifton Rehab facility. This facility is a safe and secure facility where people can get decent care, but they don't take criticism very well. The staff is mostly per diems, so the caregivers differ from day to day and have no baseline frame of reference. I also think they focus on filling beds instead of what is best for the patient. My father had been a patient there over the summer to receive physical therapy, and while the medical reports indicated he needed all sorts of assistance and probably would not be able to return to assisted living, it was simply not true. He was actually quite able bodied, but when they can get you to pay for beds in both facilities, why not? I was then pressured by Izze Lawton, to switch my father from his managed group health insurance in to Medicare, because it would guarantee him 90 days of care. While it appeared to be well-meaning, friends warned me the facility was looking for a blank check. Fast forward to now, where my father needs another short term rehab stay. I was not thrilled with this facility, but it's safe and convenient, so I agreed to another stay at this facility, where apparently we are banned due to my having expressed my honest concerns. They literally rescinded the bed offer after speaking with me. Shame on Clifton and the ownership for denying long-term residents of the assisted living facility access to the whole Clifton "family" campus. It's truly disgusting behavior and showcases the heartlessness of the management of the rehab.

There is no perfect facility whether you seek rehab or LTC, but you will find your second family at The Oaks-from housekeeping, the kitchen, activities, and nursing.

I have had to ask for help from the Nursing Home Ombudsman who works for the Commonwealth of…read moreMassachusetts and Coastline Elderly Services in order to get anything done for my mother at The Oaks, and even she is not able to get them to communicate with me. The latest problem is that they refuse to arrange with HealthDrive, their visiting doctor service, to get new glasses for my mother, despite the fact that I've already taken her to a retina specialist who said she could benefit from new glasses and the fact that I am paying for the glasses out of pocket. In the summer, The Oaks told the state ombudsman that one person would be my contact person for information about my mother. Since Thanksgiving, I have left over a dozen messages for that person and two other employees who said they would help me, and all but 1 call has gone ignored. The ombudsman has reported to me that a social worker stated that I would have to deal with speaking with whomever happens to be at the nurse's station at the moment I call, despite the fact that I have explained I keep getting conflicting information depending on who picks up the phone. Before Christmas, I explained the glasses situation to a nurse on duty, just as they wanted me to do, and she assured me she would have the appropriate person get back to me. No one has. I live nearly 2 hours away and work in a job that only gives me a short window of time to call them on weekdays, but none of this matters to The Oaks. The only thing they are on time with is the monthly bill. Do not waste your money here.

I was going to write a disappointing review for Pure Medical, however, Michelle from the Pure Medical office in Boylston was so incredibly outstanding that she changed my initially negative experience into a positive one that I'm grateful for. I had a bit of a billing issue that I was extremely aggravated about. We all know how confusing billing is with Insurance, premiums, co-pays, deductibles, blah blah blah. Well, long story short, Michelle was awesome from the minute she picked up the phone. I got on my soapbox and did my rant . . she was professional, empathetic and most importantly HELPFUL !!!!! I was able to bring what I needed to back to the office for a full credit the same day. She explained all the charges to me and made sure I was very happy with my experience with Pure Medical. I was even a couple of minutes late due to traffic and she waited there for me knowing that I was on my way. That rarely EVER happens, it is SO HARD to get good people these days, Michelle is one of those people.
