This place would be great for bigger groups! Lots of seating and space. They have clean indoor facility as well as their bathrooms. The service was alright as well. There were only two workers -- one at the bar and the other hosting and serving. Food -- Pozole 1/5 -- there was absolutely no flavor to this soup even if you add the other toppings and seasoning on top. The meat was tender but nothing was good about this soup. Baja Taco 1/5 -- the fish and tortilla was cold. It didn't taste fresh or great. Al Pastor 2/5 Birria 3/5 -- they packed this taco with meat. That was the best part of this taco! Quesadilla w/ chicken 4/5 -- I loved the crispness of the tortilla. It was super cheesy hot. Crispy Chile Relleno 3/5 -- there was much flavor to this. It was like half warm and half cold for some reason. Elote 2/5 -- it was like cold and warm... The food we had wasn't really hot at all. Everything was either cold or warm. Grabbed a pickup order yesterday and boy was this a letdown. Tacos are $4-$6, and I have no problem paying that for quality tacos, but I wound up tossing almost everything. I'll start with the good: the baja fish taco (which, mind you, can't be ordered online for some reason, nor the birria?) was tasty, fresh, and crispy. Chips were thick, hard as a rock, and flavorless. Salsa was unmemorable except for being watery. Tripas was flavorless, overcooked, and too hot. Carne Asada was almost the consistency of ground beef, but edible. Camarones was having an identity crisis, and came with lemon for some reason. The shrimp was lukewarm, though large (and unchopped), with the mouthfeel of an orange-peel. I can't even recall the flavor, beyond "not a taco". I took three bites and tossed it. The birria was chopped thinner than grated parmesan, over-seasoned, and was dry. The broth was lean, also mildly over-seasoned, but palatable. I want to start by saying that the service was very friendly and helpful. However my disclaimer here is that this is not authentic mexican food- it lacks spices and diverse flavor unfortunately. My husband got the chile relleno and the rice/beans were flavorless. The chile relleno tasted frozen (it wasnt hot when it came out). I got the alambre torta. It was very philly cheese steak-esque which is fine because I love phillys but it did feel Americanized. Talking cocktails now, I got the spicy pineapple margarita and I honestly loved it. It felt very unique! Had jalapenos in it that gave it a mild spice. My husband got the Chihuahuita and it was decent. Positives were the service and that the place was clean. Decor was cute as well. Since the new owners took over, this place has gone downhill. Came on Cinco de Mayo during happy hour at 5pm. They had 1 server for the entire restaurant, maybe 1 more in the bar area. We sat for 30 minutes before even being greeted by our server, another 20 minutes to get our drinks. Food was okay but the bill came and they didn't give us the happy hour prices. I will say, a bummer you pay for chips and salsa, though "Check In" tip, you get one for free! And it took quite some time to arrive at our table. Not offering drink refills, taking a while to come and ask us what we wanted to order, just very lackadaisical. Additionally, we were starving, so I'm shocked we didn't enjoy the food even a little bit. We ordered chips and salsa- chips, very stale. Salsa? Nothing to write home about, but not bad. We each had 3 tacos. The tortillas were all stale. My mahi mahi taco was one tiny chunk of fish with no mango salsa to be found, and two tiny "microgreen sprouts". The only saving grace was that the meat on all of the tacos was pretty decent. I also got a side of rice and the rice was overcooked, but the flavor was okay I guess. read more

I truly was excited to try the new restaurant. We absolutely love the meat market on 120th. Anytime I have a party or just want really tasty tacos I go pick up meat at Beltran's meat market. We tried the new restaurant today and it was disappointing. We walked in and must have caught the hostess off guard but she said absolutely nothing to us I said hi we have two people. We were sat at our table and I noticed there was one maybe two other table seated in the dining room plus a couple of folks at the bar. The floor was dirty and the booth seats also had food on them which I had to brush off before I sat down. No big deal maybe they were busy before we came in. Our server I think her name is Jasmine was very pleasant and attentive. We ordered our drinks and let her know that we saw free chips and salsa on yelp and ordered those as well. Thank God they were free (except see below) because the chips were very thick & lacked flavor. The salsa was ok. We then ordered our entrées plus jalapeño poppers. My husband ordered a few tacos, I ordered a taco and some beans with guacamole. Our food came out quickly. The jalapeño poppers were just ok. I ordered a side of refried beans and my beans came out as whole beans. That is normally not a big deal but they were cold and seemed as if they came right out of a can. They were not soft and tender as normally beans would be if you actually cooked them yourself. So, for this reason I did let our server know. She was attentive and got me a new plate with refried black beans. They were very tasty as well as the pork, pickled onions and cheese. The guacamole could be good. But, it seemed as if they forgot some of the ingredients. It tasted like avocado, cilantro and jalapeño only. No salt no citrus no pepper no garlic no onion just avocado and spice. My husband said his tacos were OK I tasted some of the meat and I agreed they were OK. The server removed the poppers from our bill because they didn't have a full serving (we weren't aware), but we got charged for the the thick chips & salsa. I don't think I would come back here. I appreciate Beltrans for what it is in Northglenn not for what it's trying to be in Broomfield. I would recommend staying true to their roots, authentic food, and cleanliness that we have always experienced at the meat market. read more

I had the birria tacos last time and wasn't too impressed but I really enjoyed my cartnitas torta this time, and it was very filling, witch plenty of meat. Just be warned: the shrimp taco is the spiciest thing I've ever eaten, and not in a pleasant way. Nowhere on the menu does it warn you about the spice level for this particular taco either. Ordered from beltrans through Grubhub tonight and I'm now puking, not sure if I got actual food poisoning or if it's just because that shrimp taco is so spicy it feels like it burned a hole in my esophagus, but either way I'm not having a good time right now after eating this food. Sorry Senor Beltran, but your tacos are not very good. The tinga is very weird tasting (DO NOT GET IT). They used to have a good happy hour but almost doubled all of their prices. Ok, was in here for lunch today right around noon. Not many people in the place, but everyone was running around. I think the lunch crowd just started coming in. Anyway.... I sat at the bar and had a Pacifico, ordered the chips and guacamole, which included some brownish guacamole in it. The poor bartender was running around trying to wait on tables, but it was obvious they were short staffed, even for the small amount of people in there. I then ordered 2 tortas to go, paid, and left. I ordered the Barbacoa and the tinga tortas. Once home I was eating my barbacoa torta and found a huge black hair inside. Disgusting. End of review. Beltran's is a great spot to grab amazing drinks, good food, and a nice atmosphere. I prefer to sit outside in their makeshift patio space - the lights are really cute. Their pineapple jalapeño margarita is exceptional and basically anything on the happy hour menu food wise is great. For dinner, I really liked the chicken enchiladas.
